Alia Bhatt has warned her fans against "random" pictures of her forthcoming film "Highway", which are doing the rounds on internet. Alia, who made her debut with Karan Johar's 2012 movie "Student Of The Year", will star opposite Randeep Hooda in the Imtiaz Ali film. "There's some random image doing around from 'Highway' that isn't authentic at all! That is not me or Randeep in that picture," Alia posted on Twitter. "Stills from the film will be out closer to the release probably. So please don't fall for these fake images," she added.
Alia gets support from peers for 'Highway'
Actress Alia Bhatt, whose second film “Highway” hit theatres Friday, has been showered with luck and encouraging words like “you are going to be the biggest star” by her contemporaries like Parineeti Chopra and Shraddha Kapoor. Parineeti, whose recent movie “Hasee Toh Phasee” too was widely appreciated, took to Twitter to express her support to Alia’s “Highway”. “Go go go Alia! ‘Highway’ is going to be huge and you are going to be the best actress and biggest star ever! Guys don't miss it,” she tweeted Friday. “Aashiqui 2” star Shraddha Kapoor also tweeted that she “can't wait to watch ‘Highway’ ", and added: "All the best Alia!” Alia’s “Student Of The Year” co-star Sidharth Malhotra wished her luck too. “Must watch my Radha on the ‘Highway’ tomorrow (Friday), best of luck Alia. Hearing great things, very excited, love and kiss,” he tweeted Thursday. Post "Highway", Alia will be seen in “2 States”, which will release April 18.
Alia and Varun unveil trailer of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania
Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt - the lead pair of Karan Johar's production venture "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" - Monday unveiled the trailer of the forthcoming love story. "The film is a complete filmy love story," Alia Bhatt told reporters at the launch function. Also, the film is tribute to "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (DDLJ) and Karan, who had a small part in the 1995 blockbuster as Shah Rukh Khan's character's fan and also assisted director Aditya Chopra, says every filmmaker wants to have at least one frame of DDLJ in their film. But Karan clarified that Shashank Khaitan's directorial venture is not a copy of Shah Rukh-Kajol starrer. He said: "I was the assistant director with DDLJ. I have the best memories with this film. It ('Humpty....') is an epic love story and it's not a copy of that film. It's a different film and I feel every filmmaker wants to have at least one frame in their film from the beautiful film DDLJ." The event started with an act by Varun who is looking for his 'dulhania' (bride) and Alia makes her entry with the traditional 'band, baaja and baraat'.

Alia to sing 'Samjhawan Unplugged' live
Young actress Alia Bhatt, whose singing talent was first showcased through "Highway", has now used her vocal skills for a new song, "Samjhawan Unplugged". She will sing it live here Wednesday. "Samjhawan Unplugged" is a melodious rendition of Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal's "Samjhawan" from Alia and Varun Dhawan's forthcoming movie "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania". Filmmaker Karan Johar, who has produced "Humpty Sharma...", pushed Alia to take her singing a step further with "Samjhawan Unplugged". Now her song is ready to be released Wednesday on select online portals followed by an exclusive video Friday. She will also stage a special live performance Wednesday in front of a select audience and media. The event will be presented by Varun, to whom Alia has dedicated this song. "Humpty Sharma...", directed by Shashank Khaitan, is releasing July 11.
Alia is Robert De Niro of our generation: Varun Dhawan
Praising his "Student Of The Year" and "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" co-star Alia Bhatt, actor Varun Dhawan has said she's the "Robert De Niro" of their generation in Bollywood. "I found her brilliant in 'Highway'. A performance like (hers in) 'Highway' is very difficult in any age. I think she is someone you get to learn from. She is the Robert De Niro of our generation," Varun said here Sunday. Alia and Varun made their debut together with "Student of the Year" in 2012. Since then, Alia has featured in films like "Highway" and "2 States". "I think in our generation, if any actress has shown immense growth from her first film, then she is Alia Bhatt, definitely," said Varun outside Cinemax Theatre, where he went with Alia to witness the audience's response to their latest release "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania".
