Always wanted to debut with comedy film: Kainaat Arora

Kainaat Arora, who will make her acting debut with Hindi comedy film "Grand Masti", says that she always wanted to foray into the acting world with the entertaining comedy genre. Other than comedies, she loves romantic films, and says she would have always chosen either one of them for her first film. "I enjoy comedies and love stories and so I always wanted to do a comedy. But comedy is not an easy thing to do," Kainaat said. She said the "Grand Masti" experience was thrilling. The movie is a sequel to the 2004 film "Masti". "It is fun shooting for comedy films. 'Grand Masti' was double the fun as 'Masti' itself was a big comedy film. The story is different this time. It is a different script. Being a part of the film by Indra Kumar was a treat as he is an interesting filmmaker," she said. The actress will be seen opposite Vivek Oberoi. "I was very happy and glad that I am featuring opposite Vivek. I was so happy as I have seen the first part. He is a very supportive guy. I have seen his negative roles also and have liked them. He has a great comic timing and there was not one even one serious moment for us," she said. Kainaat hails from Dehradhun and she has completed her studies in merchandising from National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi. But her desire was always to get into acting. "I always knew that I wanted to be an actress... since I was six years old! After my college, I was getting offers for advertisements. I also walked the ramp for many designers. Everything was happening on its own and I never planned much. I was working without a portfolio," she said. The actress entered Bollywood with the song "Aila re Aila" with Akshay Kumar in film "Khatta Meetha", directed by Priyadarshan.

Always nice to be with Salman: Shah Rukh

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who recently shot with Salman Khan for a promo of the latter's reality show, says that it is always fun to be with him and to share personal moments. Shah Rukh is all set to feature on "Bigg Boss: Double Trouble" on December 19 and 20 this month, coinciding with the release of his film "Dilwale" on December 18. A promo of the episode with Shah Rukh and Salman reprising their "Karan Arjun" characters and mouthing those dialogues has created substantial buzz for the episode. But Shah Rukh said: "More than reprising the 'Karan Arjun' scene, it's just nice to be with Salman always. We've spent a lot of personal moments together, but we're shooting after a long time. We were together for 3-4 hours so it was nice. We spoke more and shot for the promo for only one to one and half hour. But it was fun to be with him." He also sang the "Ye Bandhan To Pyaar Ka Bandhan Hai" song from their film to underscore the kind of friendship they share. In the promo, they're also taking a dig at their own on and off friendship by saying that in friendship "unnis-bees chalta hai" (ups and downs occur). The bonding between the two has grown recently as both have been promoting each other's films on social media and even meeting up. Asked about his views on Salman's acquittal in the 2002 accident case, Shah Rukh said: "On a very personal level, not getting into anything bigger or generic, he's my friend, my colleague and we know each other since several years. And if something good happens to him, all of us are also going to be happy. "In whichever way the judgment has gone, I think it is positive for him so we feel happy for that. But I haven't spoken to him, we've just been working so whenever I find a bit of time, I'll go and meet him." The two superstars who reside close to each other, have also worked together in "Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam" and "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai".

Always want to push the envelope with my music: Anu Malik

Music composer Anu Malik says he is always on the lookout to try something new and explore new zones in the world of music. “I’m very young at heart. I always want to push the envelope and make a sound that has not been done before. When I did ‘Ye kaali kaali aankhen’ (1993) I wanted to make a song that would last for a lifetime. "Many youngsters come up to me and say 'We have grown up with your songs' and that is very important to me. I grew up with Pancham da (R.D. Burman) songs and now the same thing being said to me is a big thing,” Malik told. Malik, who is credited for making edgy music which has continued to resonate with each generation, added that “he aims at making memories with his songs whether it is ‘Ye kaali kaali aankhen’, ‘Oonchi hai building’ or ‘Ek garam chai ki pyali ho’”. The composer, who made music for "Dum Laga Ke Haisha" and "Welcome Back" last year, also feels that it’s not about making tunes for a song and moving on, but making a song “that would last for a lifetime”. And now the composer has given a fusion twist to his popular “Ek garam chai ki pyali ho” by recreating a rap version of the song for a Tata Tea advertisement. Apart from Malik, standup comedians Abish Mathew and Aditi Mittal are also part of this concept. Talking about his experience of working with “young talent”, Malik said: “I like the young feel of the whole thing. It was a good idea that I sing the song in a rap. The track was very breezy...It is good to collaborate with young guys. "The rap is very funky. The concept is beautiful which is not the usual way of saying chai piyo (drink tea)”.

Comparisons Always Happen, says Rakesh Roshan

'Krrish' is blazing guns at the Box Office. The unprecedented response from Patna to New York has left everyone dazed. But director Rakesh Roshan is also facing criticism from various quarters. Some people are of the opinion that 'Krrish' fails to touch people's hearts the way 'Koi Mil Gaya' did. Roshan Senior feels that comparisons always happen. But comparing 'Krrish' with 'Koi Mil Gaya' is like comparing Raj Kapoor's 'Sangam' with 'Awaara'. The Box Office collections according to him tell another story as 'Krrish' is all set to be the biggest blockbuster of India. He says that 'Krrish' will cross Rs 60 Crores in seven days. Replying to the allegation that the film is too long and that the comic element in the first half is not required, Roshan justifies the old fashioned comedy by stating that when he makes a film he has to think about an audience as far and wide as Patna to US. The people living in the interiors of the country relish old fashioned comedy so he had to have it for making his film more palatable to a wider audience. As for the excessive product endorsements being plugged in the film, he is of the opinion that it happens in West all the time. And as long as the narrative isn't getting affected then what's the harm.

"I always felt that Pran saab's character was too old" - Farhan

Super hunk Arjun Rampal may have lost out on the opportunity to work with Aamir Khan in the blockbuster Rang De Basanti but he's certainly waiting to make his presence felt in a big way in Farhan Akhtar's Don. Ask Farhan what prompted him to sign Arjun to play the role essayed by Pran and the former replies, "With due respect to the original, I always felt that the character essayed by Pran Saab was too old. I felt it needed to be a lot younger and with his physicality and intensity, I thought Arjun would be the right fit for the part. He has performed extremely well in Don." While on Arjun, we hear that he attended a private screening of Don some days back and hasn't stopped praising the film. "The film is kickass!" he is said to have remarked.
