SS Rajamouli will not be overlooking Amaravati's designs?

It was recently reported that the Andhra government has appointed Baahubali director SS Rajamouli as the adviser to London-based architect Norman Foster to design the 900-acre capital city of Amaravati. Soon, criticism started floating in on why the director. Even, if the Andhra government was impressed with the VFX-based Mahishmati kingdom, it would have been logical to approach the art director. However, Rajamouli's father Vijendra Prasad has clarified that the news is a mere rumour.

Amaravati to be included in Smart Cities list

Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday declared that AP Capital Amaravati will be included in 100 Smart Cities list of NDA Government. This is his first visit to Vijayawada after getting elected to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. BJP Leaders and Party Workers have given him a rousing reception at Gannavaram airport on this occasion. Venkaiah Naidu told Union Government is working on providing Crop insurance to farmers with minimal premium. He claimed the agenda of NDA is to double the income of farmers in the country. 'When economy of developed nations has slowed down, India is developing at a fast pace. Centre has been providing a subsidy of Rs 27 on 1 kg rice,' he said. BJP AP Unit President Kambhampati Haribabu told Polavaram projects works will be carried out through Polavaram Authority. He declared no other state in the country has received as much assistance from Centre in the past two years.

THREE Anna Canteens in Amaravati

TDP Government has took the final call to set up three Anna Canteens in AP Capital Amaravati. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu discussed about Anna Canteens with Ministers Paritala Sunitha, Narayana and Prathipati Pulla Rao. Anna Canteens will come up with areas such as Velagapudi, Thulluru and Navulluru. People will be Idly for Rs 1, Curd Rice for Rs 3 and Lemon Rice for Rs 5. Target is to provide breakfast and meals for 500 people per day. Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha shared the decisions taken during the meeting with Chief Minister with media. Already, GHMC has been providing food for Rs 5 by establishing canteens at various locations in the City. Now, AP Government wants to follow the Tamil Nadu model to attract the weaker sections.

Swiss Challenge Model for Amaravati

AP Cabinet approved Swiss Challenge Model for the development of new capital Amaravati. On October 30th last year, Singapore consortium of Ascendas-Singbridge and Sembcorp Development Limited has come up with the proposal of Swiss Challenge to be the Master Developer of Amaravati. After several rounds of scrutiny, The Cabinet has given its nod for the Swiss Challenge Model. Master Developer would develop 6.84 sq km of the seed capital area. AP Government was offered 42 stake by the Singapore Consortium. About 74.5 percent equity in the consortium belongs to Singapore Government. Amaravati Development Company (ADC) and Singapore Consortium will jointly form Amaravati Development Partner to develop Seed Capita in 1,691 acres of land in three phases. CM Chandrababu Naidu revealed that Singapore Consortium offered Rs 4 core per acre for 200 acres to be developed in the First Phase. He informed bids from China, Japan, UK and other developed countries were expected. 'The Master Developer will be selected after the end of deadline on August 15th. 50 acres will be allotted to the Master Developer at nominal price,' he adds.

Rs 4 Crore per Acre offered for Amaravati Lands

Singapore Firms have come forward to offer Rs 4 crore for each acre of land offered to them in the AP capital Amaravati. Government Officials were surprised as the price is double the current market value. Ascendas and Sembcorp, the companies under the control of Singapore Government, formed a consortium before placing the lucrative deal before AP Government. As of now, Each acre in AP Capital is valued at Rs 1.5 to 2 crore. An official who is monitoring the bidding process comments, 'We never expected such a big offer. Its a very good price'. AP Government & Singapore Companies will share the revenue generated from Amaravati lands. While AP would receive 42%, Singapore Firms will get 58%.

Land sinks by 3 Feet in Amaravati!

AP Government & People of the state received a rude shock on Thursday. The portion of land where temporary secretariat of AP has been construction present now has snaked by three feet. This resulted in damage to the flooring of two blocks in the Secretariat. Constructions Workers got scared witnessing such an unusual developments. If the sources are to be believed, The recent heavy rains in the AP Capital region led to sinking of the secretariat being built at Velagapudi. The block which got damaged was actually allotted for Ministers and Chief Secretaries. CRDA Officials convened a meeting to decide what should be done to rectify the damage. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu kept reiterating Secretariat Employees should shift to Amaravati before 27th of June at any cost. Will the recent development change his mind?
