Amma Kanakku Lead in Kannada Remake of Velai Illa Pattadhari

After gaining huge appreciation for her mature performance in ‘Amma Kanakku’, Amala Paul is currently the lead heroine opposite Dhanush in the trilogy ‘Vada Chennai’ directed by Vetrimaaran. Meanwhile the super hit ‘Velai Illa Pattadhari’ (VIP) is being remade in Kannada by Rockline Venkatesh in which superstar Ravichandran’s son , Manoranjan is playing the lead role made famous by Dhanush. The makers have roped in Amala Paul to reprise the role of Shalini in the Kannada version too and shooting is expected to begin soon.

Amma Critical - TN Under Control!

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha suffered major cardiac arrest yesterday at 9: 30 PM. Entire country and in particular whole of Tamil Nadu is gripped in fresh fears worried about her health condition. Chennai media sources claimed, the condition is still very critical and a group of eight ICU doctors team (Cardiologist, Pulmonologist) is supervising the treatment under close observation.Governor Vidya Sagar Rao and DGP met Apollo Doctors in the mid night followed by convening of emergency Cabinet meeting. Chief Ministers from various states like Arvind Kejriwal, Mamta Benarjee and Central Ministers including Prime Minister expressed their concerns wishing Amma for a speedy recovery.Apollo Hospital authorities said, she is on extracorporeal membrane heart assist device and is being treated by a team of expert doctors and critical care specialists. Meanwhile, paramilitary forces jumped into action along with huge battalions of state police cordoned Apollo Hospitals and there is an unannounced high alert in TN. Amma supporters gathered in huge numbers outside the hospital are offering prayers for her well being.

Kamalhaasan's Amma Appa Vilayaattu Shelved

Actor Kamalhaasan who has earlier announced that his next film will be Amma Appa Vilayattu. Lakshmy Ramakrishnan's Ammani gets a special screening at San Jose, California

Lakshmy Ramakrishnan's well appreciated third venture Ammani, starring Subbalakshmi, Robo Shankar and Nitin Sathya, will be getting a special screening in the United states for a great cause. Director Lakshmy Ramakrishnan's daughter Sharadha Ramakrishnan and son-in-law Ashwin Raghav have arranged for special screenings of Ammani in Towne 3 Cinemas, San Jose on the 22nd and 23rd of Oct at 5:00 pm. Announcing the news, Ashwin recently posted, "My mother Lakshmy Ramakrishnan' s Ammani is a film made by a film-lover for film-lovers. Sharadha Ramakrishnan and I have taken the help of our friends to screen the movie at Towne 3 Cinemas on the 22nd and 23rd of Oct at 5:00 p.m. Proceeds from the screening will go to India Literacy Project".
