After 'Chellamae', director Gandhi Krishna is all set to commence his next after a long gap. Gandhi Krishna, a one-time associate of Shankar, directed 'Chellamae' starring Vishal, Bharath and Reema Sen. The movie went on to become a big hit. However Gandhi Krishna did not hurry to commence his next. He worked as associate to his mentor for the magnum opus 'Sivaji The Boss' recently. At last, Gandhi Krishna commences shooting for his next titled 'Anandha Thandavam'. The movie has musical score by G V Prakash Kumar, lyrics by Vairamuthu and dialogues by Sujatha. The movie will be produced by Oscar V Ravichandran.
'Anandha Thandavam': Destination USA
'Anandha Thandavam', a movie by A R Gandhi Krishna, is based on writer Sujatha's novel Pirivom Sandhipom, is fast nearing completion. A major portion of the movie unfolds in US and the crew would be flying abroad next month. 'Anandha Thandavam' features Tamanna playing the lead. The movie is produced by Oscar Ravichandran and is slated for a mid 2008 release. Interestingly Prasanna's 'Achchamundu Achchamundu' is also being shot in US currently.
Vinay ready for Anandha Thandavam
Vinay, who was introduced by cinematographer ' director Jeeva in Unnale Unnale, is gearing up for his next. He plays a cool dude in Anandha Thandavam. The movie is directed by Gandhi Krishna, a one-time associate of Shankar. Gandhi Krishna hogged limelight in Chellamae which featured Vishal making his foray to big screen. Anandha Thandavam is produced by Oscar Film Ravichandran. Search is on for a heroine. Gandhi Krishna had taken a break after Chellamae only to assist his mentor Shankar in the making of Sivaji. Only the star cast is finalized, the shooting for Anandha Thandavam will kick off.
Tamanna in Anandha Thandavam
Though 'Unnale Unnale' Vinay opted out of 'Anandha Thandavam' at the last moment, director A R Gandhi Krishna has commenced shooting for the movie with a newcomer playing the lead role. Tamanna plays the heroine. The shooting commenced in Ooty last week and major scenes featuring the newcomer and Tamanna were being shot. Gandhi Krishna directed 'Chellamae' starring Vishal, Reema Sen and Bharath a couple of years ago. 'Anandha Thandavam', produced by Oscar Films, hits the floors sans fanfare. G V Prakash Kumar scores music for the movie. A sizable portion of the will be shot in Malaysia. Tamanna is awaiting the release of Balaji Sakthivel's next movie 'Kallori', in which she plays the female lead.
Anantha Narayanan - Going the Shankar way
Director Shankar's former assistant Anantha Narayanan known to be an avid reader and keen thinker is wielding the megaphone for a movie titled 'Valmiki'. The debutante director says, 'it is an unusual title and will be very different. Just like sage 'Valmiki' was a reformed after being a dacoit, my hero turns overnight into a new leaf'. 'Kallori' fame Akhil plays Pandian, a pickpocket, while Meera Nandan, the girl who made her debut in a Malayalam film 'Mulla', plays the female lead. The heroine runs a cr¨che and an incident unites the lead pair. The change that comes over the hero and how it makes a change to many lives in society forms the story. According to Anantha Narayanan, 'the whole movie is set in north Chennai. The very mention of the place makes one think of blood, gore and violence. But that won't be the case. It is about a man who commits petty crimes and how his life takes a turn'. On his association with Shankar, he says, ' Shankar always gave us independence. He expects his assistants to develop individuality. Though I learnt the nuances of film-making from Shankar, I will always follow my own way'. Music is by Ilayaraja and editing by VT Vijayan. Vaali does the lyrics and Alagappan handles the cinematography.
Anandhi Joins GV Prakash's Kadavul Irukaan Kumaaru
After reports that the makers of Kadavul Irukaan Kumaaru are not satisfied with the performance of Telugu actress Avika Gor in the film, the team has now roped in Anandhi of Kayal and Visaaranai fame to play one of the female leads alongside Nikki Galrani. Sources say it was GV Prakash who recommended Anandhi to director Rajesh after working with her in back to back projects in Trisha Illana Nayanthara and recently Enakku Innoru Per Irukku, which is slated to hit cinemas on June 17th. Produced by Amma Creations, Kadavul Irukaan Kumaaru is the first Rajesh film without his staple comedian Santhanam, who has been the lynchpin of his successful outings including Siva Manasula Sakthi and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. Prakash Raj plays the villain in the movie.
