'Andala Ramudu' presented by RB Choudary and produced by NV Prasad and Paras Jain under the banner Mega Super Good Films, with Sunil getting a promotion as hero and with Arthi Agarwal playing the female lead, had created a record by collecting Rs 15 crores. It remained a star film as far as low-budget films are concerned. This film recently completed 100 days. It is reliably learnt that the producers are planning to hold the 100-days function on a grand scale on December 13. It is also learnt that Mega Star Chiranjeevi will be the chief guest at the function. Sunil was a fan of Chiranjeevi right from his childhood and he entered the film industry with his inspiration. Sunil graduated from the level of a comedian and now he is a hero. Hence it is good news that Chiranjeevi has agreed to attend the function.
Andala Amitabh Bachchan begins recording
The rhythm recording has started for 'Andala Amitabh Bachchan' directed by B Ramana and produced by T Srinivas under the banner Sri Santoshini Films. This film has Suman Shetty playing the hero and a debutant Snehita plays the heroine. This comedy film formally launched its shooting at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad recently, amidst several prominent film personalities. Sai Sridhar is scoring music for this film. Producer T Srinivas says, "We are planning to complete the film in a single schedule and release it in the first half of 2007.' The tagline of this film is 'Anee Takkuve.'
Nani's villain is 'Andala Rakshasi' actor
After Srinivas Avasarala in Gentleman, it's the turn of yet another actor to don the mantle of a villain for the first time - for a Nani film. It's Naveen Chandra of Andala Rakshasi fame. The news is that Naveen Chandra will play a negative character in Nani's film with Trinadha Rao Nakkina of Cinema Choopistha Mama fame. The actor is lucky because it not only has a hat-trick hero playing the lead role, but it's also produced by an ace producer - Dil Raju. The actor hasn't had success at the box office so far, but since his first film became popular on television, his stubble face is pretty much familiar. He has since acted in some Tamil movies. His recent releases, namely Tripura and Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi were big flops. This film stars Keerthy Suresh of Nenu Sailaja fame in the lead role. Currently in pre-production stage, the film may go on the floors sometime in October.
Addala's next with a Mega Hero
Director Srikanth Addala is facing huge criticism ever since "Brahmotsavam" is released. According to insiders, actually our director is not taking this failure to heart though he has already chalked out what actually went wrong in the film. Buzz has that this talented director who made films like Seethamma Vaakitlo will be now directing a mega hero. His earlier stint in the camp is "Mukunda" which also turned disastrous at box office. But the film successfully launched Varun Tej as a talented hero. Looking at that aspect, Addala has got another chance now. Only hope of cinema lovers is that, Addala will make a sensible film this time.
Srikanth Addala gets a Mega hero
Notwithstanding the result of Brahmotsavam, Srikanth Addala promises to continue his streak. Guess what, he has a film lined up with a Mega hero. A 'stylish' Mega hero at that! After the release of Brahmotsavam, many detractors have been writing off the talented director. However, like a Puri Jagannadh, Addala might just bounce back in a big way. It's learnt that Allu Aravind, the producer with an acute sense of sensing a hit in a story (speaking in general), has seen the spark in a story written by Addala. He feels that the story would be apt for his son. On the flip side, nobody can be sure as to when this project will fructify. For one, Bunny has a film lined up with N Lingusamy on the one hand, and Vikram Kumar on the other hand. Will he be willing to act in a family entertainer in Addala's direction before these two bi-linguals? On the face of it, no.
Srikanth Addala set to strike back
Almost all A-list directors (perhaps with the exception of Rajamouli, Koratala Siva and Boyapati Sreenu) have had disastrous failures at the box office. Be it VV Vinayak, Sukumar, Trivikram Srinivas - they have all tasted failure. However, Srikanth Addala's damp squib has been the most ridiculed, mainly due to the penetration of social media. In an off-the-record conversation with journos, a producer recently said that he had evinced interest (before the Mahesh Babu disaster) in working with Addala, who lost the will to work with him after Brahmotsavam. That doesn't mean that Addala is out. He is only down. Sources say that Addala is in talks with ace producer Dil Raju for a small-budgeted film. Dil Raju is one producer for whom other's failures don't mean the end of the world. He gave his all-weather associate Vasu Varma the chance to direct Krishnashtami despite the failure of Josh. He may just repeat it with Addala. Moreover, Dil Raju has grand plans to produce family-oriented movies on a banner to be set up for the purpose. All this could bode well for another Addala movie.
