Actress Namitha celebrated Deepavali at the Andaman Islands, where she is busy shooting for the remake film 'Jagan Mohini'. 'Jagan Mohini', directed by Vittalacharya, was a super hit in Telugu and was dubbed in Tamil in 1978. The film had Jayamalini as the lead star. Now, Lakshmi Movie Makers are producing the remake of this yesteryear hit with the same title and Namitha plays the role of Jayamalini. The film is being shot in the Andaman Islands. N K Viswanathan, who had cranked the camera for several movies besides directing a few films, directs this horror film. The sizzling actress Namitha says, "The movie has come very good so far. All credit should go to director Viswanathan, who has taken special care in etching out the film." In 'Jagan Mohini', Namitha shares the screen with Nila and Telugu actor Raja. Maestro Ilayaraja scores the music for this movie. A major part of the shoot is already over. "The role offers ample scopes both for glamour and performance", she adds.
Nayantara adamant on fixed salary?
Popular South Indian actress Nayantara reportedly hiked her fee after her films 'Billa', 'Yaradi Nee Mohani' became successful. She reportedly hiked her pay to a whopping one crore for her forthcoming films Ajith's 'Aegan' and Vijay's 'Villu'. Director Lingusamy is currently producing and directing a movie with 'Paruthi Veeran' fame Karthi in the lead role and Nayantara was roped in to feature opposite him. It had been reported that the production team of Lingusamy had agreed to pay the actress Rs.1.10 crores whilst her demand was Rs.1.25 crores. The reports also add that a lump sum was paid as advance. After 'Kuselan' and 'Satyam' did not do well at the box office, the producer reportedly wanted Nayantara to lessen her pay. But the actress was quite adamant for what she had asked for and was even ready to walk out of the project.
Cute Genelia gets adamant
Genelia, who is currently making waves in Bollywood, Kollywood and Tollywood is a much sought - after heroine, especially with her films becoming major blockbusters at the box office. She has risen to absolute stardom with the films 'Ready' (Telugu), 'Bommarilu' (Telugu) which was remade in Tamil as 'Santosh Subramaniam'. The same film is now being remade in Hindi as 'Life Partner' and Genelia is expected to don the cute girl role for the third time. Be it the Telugu 'Bommarilu' or the Tamil 'Santosh Subrmaniam', Genelia was the screen-stealer, enticing everyone with her charming looks and suave performance. She is now expected to render the same and win accolades among Hindi audiences as well with 'Life Partner', for which 60% of the shoot is over. She is simultaneously busy with a Telugu flick being directed by Krishna Vamsi. There were rumors doing the rounds in the industry that Genelia had started demanding exorbitant salary to act in movies. But the talented actress denies these allegations, saying that she has totally devoted her time only for two films and that her hectic schedules did not allow her to be part of the other commitments. "Not the matter of pay, but it is the matter of time" says the sizzling actress.
Rajinikanth budges, Exhibitor's still adamant
Superstar Rajinikanth and the producers of 'Kuselan' have reportedly come forward to compensate the losses, paying heed to the demands of the Exhibitors who had acquired the release rights of the film. Reports indicate they have come to a decision to compensate Rs. Seven Crores, which would be divided among the Exhibitors based on the amount they had paid to bag the theatrical rights of 'Kuselan'. Meanwhile, in order to compensate the loss faced by the Master Distributor Pyramid Saimira, it is said that Rajini would act in a movie to be produced by them once Rajini completes 'Robot'. However, this gesture has not been found reasonable by the Exhibitors' Association. The Association had a meeting after all these developments and came out with decisions regarding the unpleasant tussle. They want more money back as the Minimum Guarantee (MG) amount they had paid out was enormous. The Secretary of the Exhibitors' Association Pannerselvam stated that if the loss is not compensated they would be forced to boycott the future films involving all those concerned. Meanwhile, a few Exhibitors from Karnataka are presently in Chennai to meet the producers of 'Kuselan' and Rajinikanth to ask for compensation as the movie has reportedly not done well in that state as well. Says an Exhibitor from Karnataka, 'we kindly request superstar Rajinikanth and the distributors of the film to kindly compensate us as well because we have also gone through severe losses. Let's hope all is well in the coming days.
'Andamaina Abaddham' wraps up shoot
Shooting of a song remained balance for 'Andamaina Abaddham' directed by Raviraja Pinisetty, presented by Jonnada Ramanamurthy and jointly produced by PP Reddy and M Kesava Raju on the banner of MH Movies with Raja and Kamna Jethmalani in the lead. Presenter says, 'We will choreograph the song very soon. Tunes provided by MM Srilekha for which Bhaskarabhatla scripted the lyrics are quite melodious and music would remain a highlight for the movie. Ravivaja Pinisetty took a considerable gap and wielded the megaphone for the movie and surely our film would earn a place besides many hit films that came under his direction like 'Yamudugi Mogudu', 'Bangaru Bullodu' and 'Pedarayudu'. Nagababu, Sudha, Sivaji Raja, Posani Krishnamurali, Ali, MS Narayana, Hema and others are in the cast. Ram Pinisetty is holding the camera.

But the lie which he made led to typical situation. What are the circumstances he faced after lying is the subject. We will can the balance song very soon. Tunes provided by MM Srilekha for which Bhaskarabhatla scripted the lyrics are quite melodious and music would remain a highlight for the movie.' Nizhalgal Ravi, Nagababu, Sivaji Raja, Posani Krishnamurali, Ali, MS Narayana, Sudha, Rekha, Hema, Surekhavani and others are in the cast.
