More news →Anjaana Anjaani footage stuck in US
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is back from the US with the unit of his forthcoming film “Anjaana Aanjaani”, but the negative stock of his shot footage is still in the US, awaiting a flight. This startling eventuality is because there was no direct flight from San Francisco to Mumbai before Monday. Anything can happen in transit. And Sajid knows it. Agrees Sajid: “It is risky specially for an Indian film and that too for a producer with a name belonging to a particular community. But I had no choice but to wait till Monday for the shot footage to be sent from San Francisco to Mumbai. That’s when there’s a direct flight from Frisco to Mumbai.” According to Sajid connecting flights are too risky. “If the footage had to change flights the risk of misplacement would be far greater. So I’d rather brave a delay and let my film come on a direct flight.” In the meanwhile as Monday creeps up on Sajid he contemplates in his head the possibility, remote as it is, of even a part of the film being lost. “There’s nothing we can do if even part of the footage gets damaged or lost in transit.” The precious cargo is insured. “But what good would the money do to me if the footage doesn’t reach Mumbai intact?” reasons Sajid. “Anjaana Anjaani” is at the moment kept in a film lab in San Francisco. This is the first time that the unit has returned without the film. Hopefully all the labour that Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra have put into “Anjaana Anjaani” would reach Mumbai safe and sound next week. Until then Sajid Nadiadwala and the entire unit are on tenterhooks.
Anjaana Anjaani’ release postponed to avoid Ayodhya verdict
The release of Ranbir Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra starrer “Anjaana Anjaani” has been postponed from Sep 24 to Oct 1 in view of the verdict in the Ayodhya case, due the same day. “At first I was in a position where I needed to go ahead with the release on the slated date. However, there is no denying that the Ayodhya isssue is much bigger and needs respect,” producer Sajid Nadiadwala, of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, told reporters here at the Mehboob Studios. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film has been co-produced by Eros International. “Ranbir had addressed the issue to me and Eros and we gave it much thought. Ranbir is, of course, one of the most looked upon youth icons of our time and his point was a much sensitised and valid one. “After having mutually discussed it with Eros, we have decided to release the film Oct 1. The film is a very happy one and celebrates life, hence releasing it on a peaceful day would be preferred. I am sure people’s good wishes are with us,” he added. Giving her nod to the decision, Priyanka said: “This was our wish that the date should be postponed. I think it is the matter of principle. Whatever happens, we should go through this day in a very peaceful way. It is a very important day for India and we should all be together to give the day its deserving importance.” Adds Ranbir: “Well, I hope whatever be the verdict, peace be maintained. That was a nightmare for us. The verdict shouldn’t be biased and should be in favour of all Indians.”
Anjana Sukhani keeps sexual harassers at bay
She may be the prettiest thing to have happened to 'Salaam E Ishq' but is currently kept tightly under wraps before the release of the film. Hence while Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, Ayesha Takia, Juhi Chawla and Isha Kopikar are the most visible faces in the promos of SEI which are out on all media channels 24X7, Anjana is cool as cucumber as she waits for her big moment to arrive on the big screen on January 25th. Meanwhile she is busy with her other assignments as just recently she was seen keeping sexual harassers at bay. Well, strictly on screen, thankfully! She appears in a light hearted short film [currently been shown at theaters] that conveys the message of coming on hard at those roving eyes that never feel shy about staring at females at any given moment. As a lead protagonist who teaches such men a lesson, Anjana does it in her own sweet'ncute style. Making quite an impression in the short film, she extends her sweet charm that she has displayed so far in films like 'Hum Dum', 'Sun Zarra' and 'Jaana-Let's Fall In Love'. Her is looking forward more of this girl!
"I am not nervous" - Anjana Sukhani
Lead pair of 'Jaana - Let's Fall In Love' were in capital on a whirlwind tour for the promotion of their film that releases this Friday. Rehan Khan and Anjana Sukhani interacted with the media and were visibly happy'n'excited to see their film hitting the marquee. In spite of huge competition [at least quantitatively] with as many as 11 films coming together on October 11th, neither Rehan nor Anjana were unperturbed. They felt that the content of 'Jaana - Let's Fall In Love' had enough meat to take their movie past the finishing line. On asked whether there were any nervous pangs, Rehan honestly admitted, "Yes, a lot! This is my first film and I can't explain how eager I am to witness audience seeing me on the big screen. I can hardly count the number of hours left for the D day". In comparison Anjana was cool [as she looks and acts in real life too]. She giggled, "Ummm, nervous? Not really, especially since this is my third film after 'Hum Dum' and 'Sun Zarra'. So these are quite normal days for me and I don't see myself being overtly worried even on Friday when the film arrives. But yes, I can understand Rehan's state since I have gone through that myself some time ago!"
"Looks like I am bound to suffer" - Anjana Sukhani
Recently, it was a day gone haywire for actress Anjana Sukhani. Anjana had gone to a gym in Santacruz for a photo shoot. Her car was parked on the road. By the time she came down to the curb, her car was towed away. Poor girl had to go to police station to collect her car. Later, when she went to another place for her next interview, the venue was boiling hot since the air conditioning had broken down. "Looks like I am bound to suffer for some time today. First I had to run after my car and now I am running away from this place. It was better and cooler standing out in the sun," she laughs. But this feisty actress was not at all grumbling and was in fact sporting enough to sit in the oven like place and give interview, smiling all the while.
