More news →'Anjathey' confirmed for Pongal
Director Mysskin's 'Anjathey' starring Prasanna and Narain in prominent roles will hit the screens on Pongal day. Mysskin, who announced his arrival to Kollywood with a bang in 'Chithiram Pesuthadi' has completed his next venture 'Anjathey', produced by Hitesh Jabak. Ready to run the race this Pongal, the movie is an action thriller. Prasanna says, 'My role in the movie is kept as a secret. It is a never-seen before character and is challenging to portray on screen for me'. Meanwhile Prasanna has commenced dubbing works for his film 'Sadhu Mirandaal'. Directed by Siddique, the movie features Kavya Madhavan opposite Prasanna. 'I took great pains to play the role. I appear as a timid youth in the first half and a daring youngster, who fights evils towards the end. I dubbed in two different voices to get my act right', Prasanna says and adds with confidence: 'It would be a movie to reckon with in my career'. Good news for Prasanna is that his long-pending movie 'Kannum Kannum' will hit the creens finally this month. Post-production works for his movie 'Manjal Veyyil' would also commence shortly.
'Anjathey' throws more surprises
Mysskin's 'Anjathey', which is gearing up for Pongal release, has many surprises. The trailer of the movie itself is striking. The visuals show intense action packed scenes. The visuals that show the actors in action pass through as the song begins to pull your attention. You get to hear a majestic voice singing poet Bharathiyar's song. The song is but an enticing compilation verses from Bharathiyar's Puthiya Aathisudi. The lines are put together to motivate dutiful cops. It is none other than the director Mysskin who has crooned the song. The lines appear on the screen as the song goes on. The visuals reflect the essence of the inspiring lines by Bharathi, spiritedly rendered by Mysskin. The visual promises a thriller that could keep you on the edge of your seat. One of the visuals shows Prasanna, the romantic boy, in an unbelievably different role. You cannot guess what it is, challenges the unit members. There are more to come. 'Anjathey' audio from Dec 19
Mysskin's 'Anjathey' audio will be launched on December 19 in Chennai in a simple function. Produced by V. Hitesh Jhabak the music of the movie is done by Sundar C Babu. He is the one who scored music for Mysskin's maiden venture 'Chithiram Pesuthadi'. The music track, according to the insiders, will be a super hit. The songs are penned by Kapilan and Priyan. Apart from the three songs penned by these two, a couple of Mahakavi Bharathiyar's songs have also been used. Director Mysskin has tried his hand in singing too. He has rendered two songs in the movie (Bharathiyar's "Achcham Thavir" and another song) "Veenaiyadi Nee Enakku" by Bharathiyar is sung by the music director Sundar. Two other songs are rendered by Naveen and Swetha. The movie has three stars in Narain, Prasanna, and Ajmal Ajmeer (from Kerala). All of them have got strong roles to plays with. Prasanna, in particular, has a very different and highly unpredictable role. Vijayalakshmi, the Chennai 600028 girl, is playing the heroine in the film. She plays a middle class girl. The movie will be a Pongal release.
Anjathey: A confident show
The rainy evening set a right mood to enjoy good music and the song that was screened on the occasion did not disappoint. It was the function, held at Four Frames Preview Theatre in Chennai, on December 19, to mark the audio launch of 'Anjathey', directed by Mysskin. The highlight of the function was the amazing confidence exuded by the entire team about the outcome of the movie. The movie introduces Ajmal, a Malayalam actor in a strong role. Ajmal attended the function and delivered a few words recalling his experience with the film. Mysskin gave a detailed account of how he made the film. He praised the producer Hitesh Jabak for his faith in him and fullest cooperation. He also revealed that Prasanna, who dons a negative role in the movie, has done amazingly well. He went to the extent of saluting the young hero for accepting to do such a bad character at this young age. The director expressed his gratitude to the media that helped his maiden venture 'Chithiram Pesuthadi' a super hit. He pleaded the media to extend the same support to 'Ajnathey' as well. Leading artist Trotsky Marudu, a close friend of Mysskin, came to the function as a friendly gesture. Most of the directors spoke on the occasion ' S.A. Chandrasekar, Charan, and Kathi ' highlighted the remarkable reading habit of Mysskin. Vishal gave a hint that he would do a film with Mysskin. Dhanush said he turned down an offer by Mysskin, as he was 'afraid of handling the character'. Narain and Prasanna shared their experiences with the film. They were obviously excited and brimming with confidence. Heroine Vijayalakshmi (Chennai 600028) fame rendered a few words thanking the director. The audio CD was released by S.A. Chandrasekar and received by Vishal. The cassette was released by Kalaipuli G. Sekaran and received by Vijayalakshmi.
'Anjathey' on Valentine's Day
Mysskin's second venture starring Narain, Vijayalakshmi, Prasanna, and Ajmal, will be released on Valentine's Day (Feb 14). The movie revolving around the tug of war between two friends with divergent approaches towards life promises much as an engaging entertainer. Prasanna, in an unexpected role, is the surprise package of the movie. The music (Sundar C Babu), which was released last month, has been quite popular. Two songs ' Kaththazha Kannala and Kannadasan Karaikkudi ' are rocking. Another highlight of the movie is that heroine Vijayalakshmi has dubbed for her role in the movie. The girl, who was waiting for a good opportunity after her debutant venture 'Chennai 600028', grabbed the chance with pleasure when Mysskin offered the role in 'Anjathey'. She declined the offer to act in a Telugu movie, as she wanted to establish a good name for her in Tamil first. For Prasanna, February will be a double treat with two of his films ' 'Sadhu Miranda' and 'Anjathey' ' getting released during the month.
