Anjali and her Mentor
Though Jeeva starrer 'Katrathu Thamizh' was Anjali's maiden venture, it was director Mu. Kalanjiyam, who brought Anjali in to film world. Though the film did not take off, the effort made Anjali as an actor and she became a full time actor after director Ram signed her up for his maiden venture 'Katrathu Thamizh'. Now director Kalanjiyam has approached the girl to act in his film, in which he plays the lead role besides directing it. The girl has promptly accepted the offer made by her mentor to act in the film. Kalanjiyam, who directed 'Kizhakkum Merkum', which received TN Government award for Best Story, has postponed his film featuring Liberation Panthers' leader Thirumavalavan for the project in which he makes his debut as hero.

Anjali does a chameleon
Actress Anjali, who became a familiar face after the film 'Katrathu Tamizh' is currently working in 'Angadi Theru' - a film directed by the talented director of 'Veyyil' Vasanthabalan. Anjali plays a girl with rustic shades and hence was asked to reduce weight as well as get dark. Vasanthabalan proved his mettle with 'Veyyil' for his realistic approach. Obviously one can expect a lot of realism in 'Angadi Theru' as well. The actress religiously worked on both aspects. She lost five kilos and stood for long hours in the sun to lose complexion. The actress recounted her determination to lose color by saying, 'I used to stand in the sun for hours. But then when we went to shoot in a place called Thiruchendur, all of us became dark. The place had such scorching heat that every single one of us lost color'. Only after the shooting for 'Angadi Theru' is complete will Anjali decide on her next Tamil film. However, the actress will commence work on two Telugu projects. 'Both roles are glamorous in nature' declares Anjali.
Anjali’s perfect hero
Anjali, who has shared the screen space with Karan in Thambi Vettothi Sundaram, has said that he is the perfect pair for her. The actress, during a recent press meet, had said that when director VC Vadivudayan said that Karan is the lead star in the film and she will be his onscreen pair, she wondered how a senior artiste like him would behave. Anjali recalled that when she arrived on the sets the first day of the shoot, she realized that Karan is a down-to-earth star and had no airs around him. Karan stated Thambi Vettothi Sundaram will create a deep impact in the minds of the audiences.
