Ann Maria Kalippinanu, the recently released entertainer is receiving positive reviews from all over. The Sunny Wayne-Baby Sara starrer, directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, is also performing well at the box office. According to the reports from the trade analysts, Ann Maria Kalippilanu has made a total gross collection of 61 Lakhs, from the first 2 days of its theatrical run, after getting an average opening. However, the positive reviews and the support from the family audiences have helped the movie to perform better at the box office, even though it made an average start on its release day. Reportedly, Ann Maria Kalippilanu has solely collected 6 Lakhs from the Ernakulam multiplexes, within the first 2 days. It is not a limited figure for a non-superstar movie, made with a low budget. Interestingly, young actor Dulquer Salmaan has made a special cameo appearance in the movie. The actor's portrayal of an angel in the movie has also been receiving wide appreciations from the audiences. Ann Maria Kalippilanu, which is produced by Alice George under the banner Goodwill Entertainments, is expected to hit the theatres outside Kerala and in the foreign countries, by next week.
Dulquer Salmaan In A Cameo Role In Annmaria Kalippilaanu?
Recently, Dulquer Salmaan released the official first look poster of Midhun Manuel Thomas's upcoming film, which has been titled as Annmaria Kalippilanu. It came as a surprise, since the actor was not earlier heard to be a part of the project, but he himself revealed on his Facebook post that he is a part of this project in a small way. Now, according to new reports, it is being heard that Dulquer Salmaan would appear in a cameo role in Annmaria Kalippilanu. The film stars his close friend Sunny Wayne in the lead role along with Aju Varghese and Deivathirumakal fame Baby Sara. Apparently, it is for the first time that Dulquer Salmaan is doing a cameo appearance for a film. Reports suggest that Dulquer Salmaan decided to be a part of the project because he was excited about the story line of the film. Nothing much has been revealed about the character of Dulquer Salmaan in the film. According to the reports, the cameo role plays a very important part in the film. Interestingly, this is for the third time that Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Wayne are joining hands for a film, with Second Show and Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi being the other two instances. Sunny Wayne had also done a cameo in Dulquer Salmaan's previous movie Kammatipaadam, but the makers had to remove the portions owing to time constraints.
Fahad and Ann in Filmfare Awards
In a grand night of 61st Idea Filmfare awards at Chennai when newcomers ruled the night, younger actors took the centre stage by grabbing the major distinctions. Fahad Fazil was adjudged the best actor for his performance in North 24 Kaatham', while Ann augustine was named the best for her 'Artist. 'Drishyam' who has already become the most acknowledged film in the South has been adjudged the best film in Malayalam. Artist won Shyamaprasad the award for the best director, while veteran Malayali actress Jayabharati was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award, alongside the late Balu Mahendra. Kollywood actor Atharva and Nayanthara was named the best actors in Tamil, while Nivin Pauly and Nazriya took home the Best Debut awards for Neram. Mani Ratnam's Kadal bagged four awards including that for best Cinematography( Rajeev Menon), best debut (Gautham Karthik) , best Singer Female ( Shaktishree Gopalan) and A R Rahman taking home his 29th Filmfare time for the movie.
'Ann Maria Kalippilaanu' rights acquired for fancy price
Encouraged by the stupendous success of 'Bicchagadu', producer Chadalavada Padmavati is out to present the Telugu audience with yet another artistic, pushing-the-envelope movie. 'Ann Maria Kalippilaanu', the 2016 Indian Malayalam children's film directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and written by Thomas and John Manthrichal, will be dubbed by the producer, who has acquired the dubbing rights by shelling out a fancy price. "Starring Baby Sara, who shined in Vikram-starrer 'Nanna', in the key role, the film has gone on to become a blockbuster in Malayalam. There was a huge competition among various producers for the movie's dubbing rights. We have clinched the deal. The film narrates the story of a school-going kid (played by Sara) and what consequences follow when she meets a fraudster (played by Sunny Wayne). Aju Varghese is playing a key role, while Dulquer Salman (of 'OK Bangaram' and '100 Days of Love') plays a guest role", the producer says. "The resounding success of 'Bicchagadu' shows that, when one follows the right strategy and the content is good, a film can make it big. Released in 50 screens, the film went on to be released in 200 theatres, besides collecting Rs. 25 cr", the producer adds. One expects another hit from the makers.
