ANR unveils 'Chinnodu' audio

The audio of 'Chinnodu' directed by Kanmani and produced by Katragadda Lokesh with Sumanth and Charmi in the lead was released at a grand function organized at Hotel Green Park in Hyderabad recently. Several prominent film personalities including Dadasaheb Phalke awardee Dr Akkineni Nageswara Rao, K Raghavendra Rao, Nandamuri Harikrishna, Nandamuri Ramakrishna, B Gopal, Sagar and others attended the function as chief guests. Dr Akkineni Nageswara Rao unveiled the first audio cassette and handed it over to director Raghavendra Rao. He also gave away the second cassette to Nandamuri Harikrishna. Speaking on the occasion, Nageswara Rao says, 'I have no knowledge about the story of the film. But I learnt that the film came out well. I am confident that Sumanth would perform well as 'Chinnodu'. It is not a compliment to him just because he is my grandson. But as an individual I know the action talent of Sumanth. At the same time, Charmi would give an excellent support and performed well. It is well aware that the combination of Sumanth and Charmi went well in 'Gouri' and created a sensation. I wish the film would also be a big hit as it is slated for release as Diwali gift. In fact, this year is quite favorable to the Telugu film industry. Several films proved success this year and I wish the same would repeat in case of 'Chinnodu'. Any film could be treated as hit if the audio proved a success and I wish the audio would become very popular and pave the way for the film's success.' Director Kanmani says, 'After I directed 'Naa Oopiri', there was quite a long gap. But when I narrated the story, both producer Katragadda Lokesh and hero Sumanth gave me the opportunity. I am sure that the film would not remain as a minimum guarantee film but would be a big hit and would remain as a milestone and best film in Sumanth's career. The film is basically an action film with quite a lot of entertainment. In fact, the day's hero is Ramana Gogula, who had put in his effort to bring out the audio in a more melodious way. He has '0' per cent ego and 100 per cent sincerity. Of the six songs five came out very well. I wish the audiences will make our film a big hit.' Music director Ramana Gogula says, 'The director troubled me to get good tunes and I wish everyone would enjoy the music. I thank the producer, hero and director for giving me this opportunity.' Charmi says, 'I played opposite Sumanth in 'Gouri' and our friendship continued till date. Meanwhile, I played a film with Nagarjuna in 'Mass'. Now I am again playing with Sumanth. I wish the film would remain a super hit.' Sumanth says, 'After playing a hero in a class film like 'Godavari' again I am doing a pucca mass character in 'Chinnodu'. I wish our audiences would enjoy the feast. A good music came out from Ramana Gogula. Kanmani's taking is also good. Lokesh's production values are also excellent and I felt as if I am doing in our own production.'

ANR The Godfather of Telugu cinema's birthday

Akkineni Nageswara Rao is a niche for the title godfather of Telugu cinema who prevails in the industry since almost the first talkie made in Telugu. Being an encyclopedia of Telugu cinema, the veteran actor celebrates his birthday on September 20th. Akkineni Nageswara Rao can aptly be referred to as the god father as he is the man behind the relocation of Telugu industry to Hyderabad from Chennai. It was undertaken in an attempt to make movies in the native and bring Telugu cinema to lime light. On seeing deterioration in the number of films made, he started his own production house Annapurna Studios to bolster the industry. The era is even referred to as the akkineni era in which he gave a new dimension by introducing the concept of dance in the films and captivated the audience with his foot taps. He has played hero for a whooping number of 254 films. He made his debut venture as a lead in 1944 and continues to act in the recent 'Sriramadasu' which was released in 2007. Exaggeration is not the word that could be used if said there is a single role left untouched by the thespian. 'Devdas' performed by Akkineni Nageswara Rao is a mile stone in his career which is being remembered for ages. The movie was restated by adept actors Saigal, Dilip Kumar and Sivaji Ganesan in their respective languages yet they confessed their inability to portray a slick performance as the former. The era didn't conclude with 'Devdas' but continued in 'Laila Majnu' as a jinxed lover, a keen devotee in 'Vipranarayana, Bhakta Jayadeva' and the likes. Nageswara Rao was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his life time contribution to the Indian cinema. He is also the recipient of the Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awards. The laurelled actor is a boon to the industry for his contribution paved way for the Telugu industry which now serves as the home for a plethora of technicians and artists. musicmazaa wishes many more happy returns of the day to the thespian Akkineni Nageswara Rao on his birthday.

'Krishnarjuna' is similar to ANR's film

While the industry is busy talking of how Vishnu-Nagarjuna starrer 'Krishnarjuna' is a take off from Bruce Almighty, Nagarjuna says their film is actually similar to ANR starrer 'Buddhimantudu', which has Nageswara Rao imagining seeing Lord Krishna played by Shobhan Babu in his dreams. Here too Vishnu imagines seeing Lord Krishna played by Nagarjuna in his dreams. At least now we know it is inspired by some film! We are not complaining though, as long as we get to watch both Vishnu and Nagarjuna in the same film. Not to forget Dr M Mohan Babu in a guest role.
