Kamal Haasan is at it again. He made everyone raise his or her eyebrow by playing a dwarf in Apoorva Sagodharargal. The 'Appu' in Apoorva Sagodharargal was the talk of the town then and fetched him several awards too. Then in Avvai Shanmugi he transmogrified himself to an old woman. Both are amazing instances of man changing himself almost unrecognizably to suit the needs of his screen character. As it happens, Kamal is set to twin together his two moments of cinematic glory. Now in his Dasavatharam, in which he sports 10 different make-up, Kamal Haasan is bringing back his Appu but in a different form. This time, he plays an Appu-like character in a Shanmugi-like get up. Recently a scene featuring him as a dwarfed old woman was shot in AVM Studios. Astonished were the crew members involved in the shooting of the movie, who could not recognize Kamal Haasan in the new make-up. The unit members were dumbfounded by the way Kamal went about his work. It was amazing, said one source in the unit. Watch out this space for more news on Dasavatharam.
'Appuchesi Pappukudu' ready for release
The 33rd film in the combination of Relangi Narasimha Rao and Dr Rajendra Prasad, produced by Nattikumar on the banner of Visakha Talkies, 'Appuchesi Pappukudu' is all set for release on July 4. Speaking on the occasion, director says, 'Several of my films in the combination of Rajendra Prasad were big hits and blockbusters, while the others remained average flicks but we can surely say that there are no flops. Once again Rajendra Prasad performed in a tailor-made character. We generally come across some incidents in real life that some gullible people got cheated by few persons. Our film is based on one such incident. Three women plan to build houses on their own and Rajendra Prasad promises them to help in building houses but cheat them. Whether he really cheated them or fulfilled his promise is a suspense.' Producer says, 'We launched shooting of the film in December last year and completed all the shooting and post-production formalities recently. We have also completed the censor formalities and got a clean U certificate. We are making efforts to release the film on July 4. There are four songs in the film. Madhumita, a new face is pairing up with Rajendra Prasad as heroine.' Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Giribabu, Chalapati Rao, AVS, Tanikella Bharani, Y Vijaya, Kalpana, Srilakshmi, Sakuntala, Sobharani and others are in the cast. Music is by Vandemataram Srinivas, camera is by SV Suresh Kumar, story and production are by Nattikumar, while screenplay and direction are by Relangi Narasimha Rao.
Appukutty to visit USA for Ajith and Siva
Thala Ajith and director Siva are presently stationed in Bulgaria for the shooting of 'AK 57', their third film together . Now it has been confirmed that National award winning actor Appukutty who has been a part 'Veeram' and 'Vedalam' will be acting in this film also. Appukutty has confirmed in an interview that he has been offered a role in the film but he is yet to be briefed about his character. However he knows that he will get a meaty role in the film and his portions will be shot in the United States of America. Appukutty has become more popular for his acting with Ajith in 'Veeram' and 'Vedalam' both directed by Siva. Since 'Veeram' days, Ajith has been the wellwisher of Appukutty and conducted a photo shoot for him. Thala has also insisted him to retain his original name Sivabalan. Afater Thambi Ramiah, Appukutty will be the second actor to be a part of all the three films of Ajith with director Siva.
Appukutty to Join Thala57 Team
The team of Thala 57 is currently shooting in Austria, Europe. The team is off to Europe for a 90-day schedule and we hear that Ajith will play the role of an Interpol Officer. Apparently, an investigation from Chennai will take him to Europe, according to the story. After the European schedule, the team will fly to the US for its next stint. We hear that actor Appukutty will play a key role in the film and his portions will be shot in the US Kajal plays the leading lady, she will play a calm girl and Anirudh is the music director. Produced by Satya Jyothi Films, the team has also roped in Kamal Haasan's younger scion Akshara to play an important role.
Appukutty film Kagidha Kappal includes a song praising Thala Ajith
Actor Sivabalan popularly known as Appukutty has a great deal of respect and affection towards Thala Ajith as the latter is a true well-wisher.of him. Sivabalan has acted with Ajith in 'Veeram' and 'Vedalam'. It was during the shooting of 'Vedalam' that Ajith conducted a special photo shoot for Sivabalan. Now the duo is acting together in 'AK 57'.Now its Sivabalan's turn to express is Thala affection publicly. He has done that through the film 'Kaagidha Kappal' in which he has played the lead role.The film directed by S.Sivaraman includes a song in praise of Thala Ajith and this song is sure going to be a great attraction for the film. The song starts as 'Thalaya Patha Thannambikka Varum' ( Just a look at Thala will fetch you self-confidence). This will also be a complete delight for every Ajith fan out there.'Kaagidha Kappal' has been scheduled to hit the screens on October 14.
Actor Appukutty talks about Thala 57
National Award winning actor Sivabalan aka Appukutty is a fluent actor who could adapt to any roles that are thrown at him. In a recent conversation with Appukutty, the actor talks to us about his forthcoming projects. “I play the lead role in a film called Kakidha Kappal. It is a comedy film which will also carry some sentimental values in it. Sivaram is the director and the film will feature one song glorifying Ajith's humane side. The crux of the song is that a film fanatic must take care of their family first and a cinema star only comes next. Something that Ajith always preaches.. I play heroine's ‘murai maaman’ in Bobby Simhaa’s Vallavanukkum Vallavan and I also have Enga Kaatula Mazhai in the pipeline.” Appukutty also confirmed that he is a part of Thala’s upcoming film AK 57 too and he is likely to shoot for the film very soon.
