More news →ASA announced PURPLE LAKE and PHIR
Producer Surendra Sharma announced the next 2 films by ASA Productions and Enterprises Ltd. Directed by Vishal Pandya, the first of the two films is titled Purple Lake, which stars actor Aashish Chowdhry in the lead along with a well known model Mahsa and comedian Vir Das. The second one titled 'Phir', is directed by Girish Dhamija and stars the main leads of 1920, Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma along with actress Roshni Chopra. Meanwhile 1920 is all set for a release next month. Produced by Surendra Sharma, Amita Bishnoi & Bhagwanti Gabrani, of ASA Productions and Enterprises Ltd, 920 launches two new talents, Rajneesh Duggal who is already a well known model and Adah Sharma. Set in the year 1920, the film traces the love story of an Indian boy and an English girl, set in locales from the vintage areas of Rajasthan of 1920 to Bombay and Palampur in the Himalayas. The two get married despite heavy opposition and the story unfolds on the premises of a supernatural thriller. The Audio Rights are on BIG Music.

Mika as a Bhajan singer
Punjabi Pop Singer Mika for the first time as Bhajan singer at Pishori Gurudwara. Mika is well known for his Pop singing among audiences. Recently he appeared in his new incarnation of Bhajan Singer at Delhi's famous Picric Gurudwara. Since so many years he has been playing Tabla at Gurudwara with his Brother Daler Mehndi. Mika believes that, what ever name and fame he has is all because of God grace and because of his hard work. As every artist like to offer their prayers with the art which they possess, Mika did the same thing by singing Sabad at Gurudwara for 2 hours with whole Kirtan Mandali. On this Holi occasion Mika distributed 'Prasad' to all the devotees present at the venue which is traditionally called 'Langar'. Around 4 thousand devotees gathered at the Gurudwara to receive Langer from Mika's hand. When we asked Mika about the reason behind the special prayers, he replied, I am here to offer prayers for our Indian Cricket Team and if our team brings the World Cup to home I will be here again to thank the god with Langar and Sabad. Since child hood I have been visiting this Gurudwara with my brother. When he asked about the chances for his devotional album release in future, he said, Not Now but in future it may happen. And it will be free of cost for the devotees. Apart from Pop singing I will keep my self busy in other social activities. Recently we have worked in Tihar Jail as well as for handicapped children in Haridwar.
Naseer as a chef
Playing the role of a chef has made the veteran actor Naseerudin Shah much more enlightened about the intricacies of cooking dishes. It was a completely new experience for the actor as he is a person who till this time has not cared for making any kind of food except omelette. Naseer plays the character of a very jolly minded cab driver who becomes a chef in the movie titled as '7 To The Palace'. The film is directed by David Kaplan and tells the story centered on an Indian restaurant named as The Palace in Queens at New York. Although for most of the time during the shooting, Naseerudin Shah just had to fake cooking, the two things the director wanted his central character to learn was to chop onions and garlics. So Naseer before going to New York for the shooting sought the help of his friend Pushan Kripalani , a chef who runs a restaurant in Versova to learn how to do the tasks assigned by the director like a true professional Madhur Jaffrey who is a very famous culinary expert and one who is considered as the queen of cookery appears with Naseer in a scene in '7 To Palace'. Asif Mandvi who is the scrip writer also plays the role of a trainee cook in the movie. The director David Kaplan is a big lover of all kinds of foods and likes everything related with it. His last movie titled as 'Year Of The Fish' also had its main theme in cooking as it narrated the tale of a Chinese restaurant.
Trisha as a teaser
Some Trisha fans were a bit let down with the kind of small role that she got in Pournami. Though hers was the title role, her character had limited scope. Meanwhile, there is some news on her dance number in Bangharam, starring Pawan Kalyan. Sources say that though Trisha has a samll role and a dance number in the movie, as a teaser promotion, it will be introduced in the film only after the second week of the film's release. It is an attempt to woo the audience in the latter part of the release.
Pleased as a punch
The good response to Godavari has obviously gone down well with Shekar Kammula, its diretor. The soft-spoken, sensitive man is equally effusive about the praise coming from abroad. The soft love story has gone down well with the NRI audience. In the USA alone, the movie was released in six places. A great rise for a man whose Anand released in Andhra with just three prints. Shekar is happy that the movie has been well promoted. The movie, meanwhile, is running to packed houses in Andhra Pradesh. The film's success is good news for all those who love their film to be soft, sentimental and sensitive.
