'Aval Peyer Tamizharasi' launched adidst expectations
The place was Hotel Green Park and Moser Baer in association with Blue Ocean entertainment launched their latest film 'Aval Peyar Tamizharasi' that stars Jai along with a debutante on the 20th of August. The film is to be directed by debutante director Meera Kathiravan, a disciple of veteran director Balu Mahendra. The debutante's intent in coming up with a story highlighting innate human nature was very evident with the way many of the prominent guests spoke about him. Balu Mahendra said, 'Meera Kathiravan is an avid reader and a good person. After my former assistants Vetri Maaran (director of 'Polladhavan'), Ram (director of 'Katrathu Tamizh') and Sasikumar (director of 'Subramaniyapuram'), Meera Kathiravan is venturing into the world of direction and I wish him all the very best. I sincerely hope the film shapes up well and becomes a success commercially'. The veteran director also proceeded to narrate an incident by saying that Meera Kathiravan narrated the story of the film to him long ago and he was thoroughly impressed by it. Venkat Prabhu wished the team of 'Aval Peyer Tamizharasi' all the best and spoke of Jai in a friendly and happy way. 'I know Jai is talented and I would like to see him as a very big star. This is the first film he is working in as a solo hero and I am sure he'll excel'. Director Sasikumar who also starred with Jai in the film 'Subramaniyapuram' talked of his association with the actor and spoke of the initial stages of filming 'Subramaniyapuram'. 'When he came for the shooting of 'Subramaniyapuram' Jai was playful. Probably because he had finished a movie on sport (Chennai 600028). We wondered why he was so playful and the rest of us decided to be very serious. Then Jai too became serious and understood the nature of his character in the film'. 'I am very impressed with the story of 'Aval Peyer Tamizharasi' and this is the first 'mature' role I will be playing' said an elated Jai. Moser Baer has been producing a number of Tamil films of late and will see a fleet of movies invading the market very soon. Dhananjayan of Moser Baer was of the view that 'Aval Peyer Tamizharasi' would be a refreshing film. 'We are committed to making good films', he said. The entire launch function wore an excited look and one gets the impression that the 'Aval Peyer Tamizharasi' team is determined to excel.
Aval Peyar Thamizharasi is serene
Meera Kathiravan, director of Moser Baer produced 'Aval Peyar Thamizharasi' on a confident note says, 'The movie is based on a wholesome rural theme sans the usual gore and bloodshed. It would also be parallel in quality to the formerly made popular movies with microcosmic themes made by veteran directors.' The director continues, 'There have been quite a few movies made so far with crux based on violence which chiefly portrayed the brutal face of the rural areas. Another set has been made that portrays the locales rich in green carpets in a calm and poised scenario. This movie is envisaged balancing both the criteria that exhibit the cultural heritage.' Jai plays the lead in 'Aval peyar thamizharasi' but the female lead will not be brought into limelight till the day the movie hits the screens. Apart from the prominent cast, film critic and bird researcher Theodre Bhaskaran and art worker Veera Sandhanam bag pivotal roles in the movie. A disparate musical score has been composed by Vijay Antony. Music has a crucial part to play in this movie and cinematography is by Muthayya. The first two schedules of the movie have been completed and the next schedule is slated to be commenced shortly.

Madhavan who has 'Guru En Aalu' gearing up for release would ideally like to back it up with 'Naan Aval Adhu' in order to gain firm footing in the Tamil film industry. It is not clear if Madhavan would be part of the audio launch as he has filed a complaint against the producer of the film for not paying him his remuneration balance of 75 lakhs. However, the producers of the film admit to a legal tussle and have stated that the remuneration for Madhavan is 60 lakhs (plus a percentage on the profit). Madhavan however has been invited for the audio launch function.
'Ettappan' renamed as 'Aval Ullaththai'
'Ettappan', Srikanth's supposedly comeback movie, is renamed as 'Aval Ullaththai'. The change is caused by the objection raised by the people of Etayapuram, where the historical figure Ettappan lived in 18th century. Ettappan, the Zameendar of Ilasanadu (later known as Ettayapuram), is considered by some historians as the one who betrayed Kattabomman, the rebel Chieftain of Panchalankurichi. It is said that he gave the vital information to the Britishers to capture Kattabomman. The Ettayapuram people, however, feel that the theory that Ettappan was a traitor is incorrect and hence they feel hurt to hear such stories in any form. Though Srikanth's movie is not a historical flick, some of the people from Ettayapuram objected the usage, which has of late become derogatory. The makers of the movie has decided to respect the feelings of the people and hence changed the title as 'Aval Ullaththai'. The movie, directed by Maheshwaran, has Srikanth and Navya Nair in the lead roles. While Srikanth plays a rowdy, Navya plays the role of a Brahmin girl in the film, which will be shot in and around Chennai and Ooty. 'Aval Ullaththai' is a remake of Kannada movie Buddhivantha, featuring Kananda top hero Upendra in the lead role. The story is said to be revolving around a man who has a lot of negative shades in his character.
