Quite appropriate to its name, Vijay's Azhagiya Tamil Magan's (ATM) has made enough money even before its release. According to reports, producer Appachan has made enough money from the movie even before its release. Buzz is that Azhagiya Tamil Magan has made a new record among Vijay films in terms of business. It is said that Pyramid Saimira Theatres had brought the distribution rights of Azhagiya Tamil Magan for a whopping amount of Rs 25 crore. With shooting is expected to complete soon, it is expected that the film would hit theatres on Deepavali. Directed by Bharathan, Azhagiya Tamil Magan has Shreya and Namitha opposite Vijay.
Azhagiya Tamil Magan controversy to end
Appachan, the producer of Azhagiya Tamil Magan (ATM), has agreed to pay a sum of Rs 6.5 lakh to one Mohammad Farookh, who filed a case claiming that the story of ATM belonged to his production house. Farookh had filed case alleging that the story belonged to his production house and Appachan had agreed to pay Rs 7.5 lakh after the intervention of Tamil Film Producers Council. However Appachan had paid only Rs one lakh. The case came up before Judges A P Shah and Jothymani. After assurance from Appachan to pay the remaining, the Judges posted the hearing to Wednesday and a final verdict is expected then. ATM stars Vijay, Shriya and Namitha in lead role. It is directed by Bharathan.
'Azhagiya Tamil Magan' audio from today
Considered as the 'Mozart of Asia,' A R Rahman, the gem music director of India is all set to rock Kollywood after 'Sivaji' with 'Azhagiya Tamil Magan'. The audio of the Vijay starrer will be released on Monday. Mean while, the singer-composer has his hands full with a lot of films, the latest being Ashutosh Gowarikers 'Jodha Akbar' starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwariya Rai Bachchan. 'Azhagiya Tamil Magan' is directed by Bharathan and produced by Appachan. Shriya plays his lady love in the movie. The movie has half-a-dozen songs which includes a retune of yesteryear hits from Sivaji's film.
Azhagiri's son acquires Varanam Aayiram
Here is one more entrant to filmdom from Tamilnadu's first family. Dayanidhi Azhagiri, son of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's Madurai based son M K Azhagiri has acquired the release rights of Varanam Aayiram. He has started a production company 'Cloud Nine Movies', which has bought the movie for a theatrical release across Tamilnadu. Varanaam Aayiram, is directed by Goutham Menon and the movie features Suriya in the lead role. It may be recalled that Udayanidhi Stalin, son of Karunanidhi's younger son and State Local Administration Minister M K Stalin ventured to film production with the Vijay starrer Kuruvi. Gunanidhi, another grand son of Karunanidhi is producing the remake of yesteryear Rajnikanth movie Murattu Kalai. The veteran statesman's another grandson Arivunidhi (son of M K Muthu) has tuned a playback singer. A doctor by profession, Muthu has sung a song in a movie titled Perumal. 'Varanam Aayiram' that was pipelined to be out for diwali is now being released on the 14th of November.
Namitha with Vijay in Azhagiya Thamizh Magan
Namitha's desire to act opposite Vijay is now fulfilled. The buxom actress will act opposite Vijay in Azhagiya Thamizh Magan. The movie to be produced by Swarga Chitra Films Appachan would have Vijay and Shreya in the lead roles. Namitha would play the second fiddle in the movie. It may be recalled that Namitha had expressed her desire to act with Vijay in a few interviews before. Her dream will be fulfilled in the coming months when Azhagiya Thamizh Magan would go to floors. A major highlight of the movie is the musical score by A R Rahman. Namitha, who made a name for herself doing glamour roles, is expected to do a similar role in Azhagiya Thamizh Magan. Also, she has been signed to act in a Malayalam movie.
Vijay speak on Azhagiya Thamizh Magan
Vijay's Azhagiya Thamizh Magan, which is produced by Appachan and directed by Dharani's associate Bharathan, is fast progressing. Featuring Shriya opposite him, the movie is fast nearing its completion. Says Vijay, 'I am not going to say that this film will be a trendsetter. But the screenplay is something new and the audience will get to see me donning a different role altogether'. Slated for a release this August, the movie has musical score by A R Rahman. On Rahman, Vijay says, 'He is a musical genius. I am confident that he would come up with catchy tunes'.
