Producer Smt. Shoba Rajanna's ambitious project 'Baaba' (this has got nothing to do with Tamil style king Rajanikanth 'Baaba') the debut of teenage Karthik and Pragna by another debutant director Trishul is hitting the screen this week with 'A' certificate from the regional censor board. The teenage acting in the cinema and doing activities surpassing the age is what made the censor to give 'A' certificate says director Trishul addressing the media on the eve of release of the film. The film has a message for the youth. The son who gives up studies after 10th standard failure takes up rowdy activities. The realization comes to him in the end. The heroine is a traditional girl in this cinema who speaks very less in the cinema. Director Trishul lauded the excellent support he has received from supporting artists Ramesh Bhat and Padma Vasanthi. Speaking to media on last Friday young actor Karthik said he has worked very hard for this film doing stunts on his own. It was easy for me to participate in action scenes but not in dance portions admitted actor Karthik. Sundarnath Suvarna is the cameraman and Arjun has scored the music for 'Baaba'. Lakshman Reddy is the editor and Ismail is the art director. Bharat Bagavathar, Radha, Chidanand, Satyajith, Kurigalu Sunil, Satyajith, Pawan, Kumar, Mahesh and others are in the cast. 'Baaba' is releasing on this Friday all over Karnataka.

Baba Sehgal back in limelight
There was a time in the early 90s when a phenomenon arrived on the Indi-pop scene [a relatively new term then] by the name of Baba Sehgal. With number of hits under his belt, singing assignments followed with his 'Rukkmani' [Roja] topping the charts for weeks at stretch. He went on to sing and compose for number of films and also tried his hands at acting in films like 'Miss 420' and 'Double Gadbad', none of which made any impression with the audience. He tried cutting a few films now and then over the years but the popularity gained by him in the early and mid-90s was missing in a big way. Now he is back in the thick of the things as he composes for a children's film 'BHOOT UNKLE' that stars Jackie Shroff in the lead role along with number of kids. The music video from the film is already on air and also features Baba Sehgal who brings back a nostalgic feel through his on-screen antics!

Baba Sehgal's 'Welcome To Mumbai'
After making waves in the mid-90s, Baba Sehgal is still around and continues to make his presence felt every now and then. Before year 2006 closes, he would be wooing his audience once again as he sends out an invitation stating 'Welcome To Mumbai.' Yes, that's the name of his latest album, the first song of which has recently been premiered and has fetched a good number of admirers. The title track of the album has been stylishly picturised with Baba's trademark rap complimenting the hip-hop beats of the song well. The album comes on Frankfinn music which recently delivered a decent success in the form of 'Aaja Pyaar Karle' by Nic'n'Nicole.
