Producer Smt. Shoba Rajanna's ambitious project 'Baaba' (this has got nothing to do with Tamil style king Rajanikanth 'Baaba') the debut of teenage Karthik and Pragna by another debutant director Trishul is hitting the screen this week with 'A' certificate from the regional censor board. The teenage acting in the cinema and doing activities surpassing the age is what made the censor to give 'A' certificate says director Trishul addressing the media on the eve of release of the film. The film has a message for the youth. The son who gives up studies after 10th standard failure takes up rowdy activities. The realization comes to him in the end. The heroine is a traditional girl in this cinema who speaks very less in the cinema. Director Trishul lauded the excellent support he has received from supporting artists Ramesh Bhat and Padma Vasanthi. Speaking to media on last Friday young actor Karthik said he has worked very hard for this film doing stunts on his own. It was easy for me to participate in action scenes but not in dance portions admitted actor Karthik. Sundarnath Suvarna is the cameraman and Arjun has scored the music for 'Baaba'. Lakshman Reddy is the editor and Ismail is the art director. Bharat Bagavathar, Radha, Chidanand, Satyajith, Kurigalu Sunil, Satyajith, Pawan, Kumar, Mahesh and others are in the cast. 'Baaba' is releasing on this Friday all over Karnataka.

Bala likes Veerappan serial
Director Bala, who is quite busy with the shooting of 'Naan Kadavul', somehow finds time to view the TV serial 'Santhanakkadu' that depicts the life of sandalwood smuggler Veerappan. The serial is directed by V. Gouthaman, who directed Murali ' Simran starrer 'Kanave Kalaiyaathey'. Since the cinema chances were playing hide and seek game with him, he shifted to small screen. It is said that many leading directors in Kollywood are watching the serial regularly. Bala is one among them. He called up Gouthaman from Theni to congratulate him. He also requested the director to give him the DVD of the whole serial, as he could not get time to see the serial regularly. Senior directors like Balu Mahendra and Mahendran too are watching the serial regularly and keep discussing with Gouthaman about his work. Gouthaman is growing in confidence after such responses and eying for a comeback to big screen.
