The first half of the film was a cake walk for her but for the second half was a real challenge for her as she had to understand the whole integrity of the film. Urmila is very choosey in selecting the movies and so she is referred as Lady Aamir Khan in Bollywood, but incredible content of the film made Urmilla select the movie "Banaras - A mystic Love story". Commenting on this statement Lady Aamir Khan of the bollywood said "I am honored to be referred as Lady Aamir Khan as I believe that quality rather than the quantity, matters for a film carrier." Rani Faces Stiff Opposition from Culture Czars in Banaras
The culture-vulture-brigade is at it again. A little known outfit Kranti Shiv Sena (KSS) burnt posters of actress Rani Mukherjee for disrupting the lives of devotees in Banaras. Incidentally Rani is currently shooting for Pradeep Sarkar's yet untitled film being produced by Yahsraj Films in Banaras and her security guards had an altercation with a few photo journalists and teeming people on the sets of the film on Monday. The film also stars Konkana Sensharma. Rani apologized to the press later but she also taught the media personnel that even the stars deserve some kind of breathing space. She also got irritated when constant questions were being asked about her marriage plans. It seems these small time culture outfits find an easy bait in successful actors for publicizing their own wares. Aamir Khan faced the wrath of a little known culture wing of a political party when his film 'Fanaa' was about to be released. And now, it's the turn of Rani Mukherjee whose posters are being burnt and effigies paraded on a death bed. Rani had earlier shot for 'Bunty Aur Babli' in Banaras. MusicMazaa will keep you updated about the future developments in this story.
Bhairavi's golden bananas
'Bheja Fry' girl Bhairavi Goswami has come up with a unique way of keeping her energy levels up throughout her long hours and grueling schedules (she's been shooting simultaneously for three films nowadays). She eats 'golden' bananas. Now these are not the normal green kind or the elaichi kind. They are the specially imported golden bananas that you get in only a few stores keeping foreign eatables. So whenever Bhairavi is shooting, if you see her staff or unit boys running from shop to shop, you know what they are looking for. She even carries her golden bananas out of town. Recently, she was spotted chomping on them at the airport. Sometime later, doubting security guards were surprised to find a lot of bananas in her purse (their bheja's must've been fried at the glimpse) and they asked her to eat one in front of them, before they let her pass the security check.
Aamir buys Banarasi sari for Anushka
Superstar Aamir Khan, who recently visited Banaras to promote his forthcoming film "PK”, purchased a sari from there for his co-star Anushka Sharma. The actor wanted to take a special souvenir for Anushka from Banaras. After going through a huge collection of saris, he shortlisted one. In fact, he spent about an hour selecting his favourite sari. “Varanasi is Aamir Khan’s mother’s home town. He always starts his promotional tour from either Patna or Varanasi. He is well versed with the weavers and makers there. He made a special attempt to buy a sari for Anushka," said Aamir's spokesperson. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the movie will hit the screens Dec 19.
G.V to compose Guns of Benaras BGM
Tamil composer G.V. Prakash Kumar, who had previously worked on Anurag Kashyap's "Gangs of Wasseypur", has been roped in to compose the background score for Hindi crime-drama "Guns of Benaras". "Guns of Benaras" is a Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster "Pollathavan" which also had music by GV Prakash. "I have been told by my producer that G.V. Prakash has been roped in to compose the background music for our film 'Guns of Benaras'. Since he composed the music for the original, the makers thought it would make sense to have him on board," Ganesh Venkatraman, who plays one of the leads in the film, said. "I don't know if the paper work has been completed, but my producer confirmed that they have zeroed in on Prakash," he added. Prakash has also composed music for Kashyap's upcoming film "Ugly" and had previously worked on Shirish Kunder's sci-fi comedy "Joker". "Guns of Banaras" is being directed by Shekhar Suri. It also features Karan Nath, Vinod Khanna, Nathalia Kaur, Abhimanyu Singh and Namrata Shirodkar.
