Mustafa Zahid's band cheated in Dubai

Rumors are that ARY Entertainment promoted and advertised that the leading Pakistani Rock band Roxen (whose lead singer Mustafa Zahid was introduced by the Bhatt camp to render 'To Phir Aao' and 'Tera Mera Rishta' in 'Awarapan' last year) was going to perform in Dubai. But it turned out to be a case of misleading advertising as ARY never brought Roxen down after all! The fans went wild and cursed the organizers of the show and demanded reimbursement of the tickets. Even when the show was an hour away from starting, fans were screaming for ROXEN unaware of the fact that the band wasn't even in the city. Faisal Khan, Roxen manager, confirmed the news saying, 'It's a shame that they cashed in on Roxen to sell tickets and then backtracked. It is thoroughly unprofessional and unethical, and we intend to file a case against them soon. For our fans in Dubai who got disappointed let me tell them that Roxen is coming very soon to promote their new album and perform in their city."

VJ Anusha Dandekar launches all girls band

After making her mark as MTV VJ, Anusha Dandekar has now launched an all-girl band, D Major, with sister Apiksha and Shibani. “When we were kids, we used to sing and dance and have lots of fun together. About four years ago, we thought about creating our band,” Anusha said at a Fiama Di Wills event at the 15th edition of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Friday. She was here to launch the “Shine in Style Hanna Montana” pack. “We started talking about it and bring things down on paper and about a year ago we started full fledged work over it,” she added. Their first album titled “Teenage” has a variety of songs be it bohemian, Punjabi or Hindi. The trio have not only sung the songs but have also written the lyrics. “We used to pen lyrics whenever we used to get time whether in train or in flights. We like all types of music and we have tried to inculcate it in our album. “Our album contains all genres of music be it R&B, Pop, Punjabi, Hindi. We love the fusion, and we are also planning to add Marathi. Every track in our album has a meaning,” said Anusha. The Sudan-born Australian Indian actress, who was also seen in films like “Mumbai Matinee” and “Virrudh”, says she doesn’t want to be typecast in NRI roles. “It’s not that I have not been receiving offers for films, but I was not comfortable doing them. I am being offered NRI roles and that is why I am not accepting any such roles,” she added. “I am looking forward to doing something challenging so that I can prove that I am not an NRI,” she added. She gave a glimpse of her singing talent as she performed some of the tracks of her album at the event.

Shruti Haasan joins British rock band 'Dinosaur Pile-Up'

Talented musician and actress Shruti Haasan will be giving her fans good news, as she has collaborated with a British rock band - 'Dinosaur Pile-Up'. She will be singing and co-writing with them for a brand new album together. WOW!!! Isn't that a treat fans? A close source from her side says that, "Shruti has been to London a few times recently to meet and jam with the English Alt-Rock band 'Dinosaur Pile-Up'. She has been jamming with lead singer and guitarist Matt Bigland, drummer Mike Sheils and bassist Jim Cratchley. When she spent time with them, she enjoyed the vibe of their music and felt it was in line with her own musical inclination. She is someone who's always written her own songs right from when she had her former band - Shruti and the Extramentals. She has also co-written the lyrics for tracks that she's working on with 'Dinosaur Pile-Up'. Music has been a very deeply rooted facet of her being and unlike most singers, who are just singers, she's a complete musician - someone who writes, composes and sings her own songs." The sources also add to say that, "While she has a flourishing acting career, she wants to ensure she dedicates a sizable chunk of her time this year to her music. She's been working crazy schedules shooting for two south films, pre-production for her tr-lingual film with her father Kamal Haasan titled ‘Sabash Naidu’. She's also working on her patchwork for ‘Yaara’ directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, her own production assignments under Isidro Media and of course her multiple brand endorsements and magazine cover shoots." We all know that, Women's Day special association with Ehsaan and Loy (of Shankar Ehsaan and Loy fame), was a big thing and it was also highly acclaimed by audience. This is the next big musical step she's all set for. Way to go girl!!!
