Joining the long list of stars taking a plunge in politics is Silambarasan. He would be campaigning for his father and actor-director Vijaya T Rajendher in Mayiladuthurai Constituency. Says Simbhu, 'Politics is not new to me I had campaigned for my mother when I was just five years old when she contested in Palani. More over Mayiladuthurai is my native and it is an opportunity to meet my fans'. It may be recalled that T Rajendhar's Latchiya Dravida Munntera Kazagam is contesting in nine seats in the State and in other places, TR will canvass for the success of DMK and its allies. Silambarasan has taken a break from his busy shooting for Vallavan. TR has made some disparaging comments on Vijayakanth and his party in his election campaign so far.
Soundarya Rajinikanth joins Chennai-600028 bandwagon!
Superstar Rajinikanth's second daughter Soundarya joins the young Chennai 600028 production team. Soundarya's graphics company, Ocher Studios, will be doing the computer graphics and animation for Chennai 600028. The entire film will be put through the Digital Intermediate (DI) process to enhance the quality of film similar to what we saw in the films Black and Sarkar. It is a matter of interest to note that Ocher Studios has already worked on Chandramuki, Kalvanin Kadali, Sandakozhi and Chennai Kadhal.
Prithiviraj joins the six-pack bandwagon
This is definitely the season for six-packs in the Tamil Film Industry. After Suriya, Dhanush and Vishal, it is now time for Prithiviraj. The actor reportedly went through a rigorous three month workout spree under the watchful eyes of a trainer and voila, a six- pack-ab has emerged. Prithiviraj has worked out to this effect after the insistence of Mani Ratnam for the film 'Ravana' in which he is slated to play a character with villainous intent. The stars of the film would be Aishwarya Rai and Vikram. In the Hindi version however Vikram would be replaced by Abhishek Bachchan and Prithiviraj would be replaced by Vikram. It is interesting to note that two more Tamil actors would be joining the six-pack bandwagon very soon. 'Jayam' Ravi and Vijay Arun are the two and they would be showing off the 'achievement' in their films soon.
'Prema Bandham' ready for release
Efforts are being made for the release of 'Prema Bandham' directed by Agastyan of 'Premalekha'-fame, presented by KPJ Suresh and Bonda Srinivasa Rao and produced by SJ Satish on the banner of Jai Balaji Movie Makers with Akash and Sridevika in the lead in August. Several prominent technicians worked for the movie which was being produced simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. Moreover, the film had got all kinds of elements that could attract all classes of audiences. Deva's music would remain a highlight of the movie. The parents of the hero in this film are from different languages. However, the hero stays in London and pursues his education. The first half of the film runs in city backdrop, while the second half runs in rural nativity. The love thread not only between the hero and heroine but also between them and their parents were being portrayed at a high esteem.
'Yee Bandhana' Back From Bangkok
The multi star cast Kannada film 'Yee Bandhana' by lady director Vijayalakshmi Singh starring Dr.Vishnuvardhana, Darshan, Jayaprada, Thara, Jennifer Kotwal, Sharmila, Ananthnag has completed a song shooting at Malaysia, Kaula Lampur, Jenting highlands surroundings. Ajay Vincent handled the camera for the Tribhuvan dance direction. Darshan and Jennifer Kotwal took part in this 'Banna Banna Elu Banna...' song. This film emphasis on the importance of love and affection to elders as the main emphasis is going to hit the silver screen either in Dasara or Deepavali festival time. Madhu has penned the dialogue Mano Murthy has scored the music for the lyrics of Jayanth Kaikini. Kitti Rangamanch is the co director of this film.
'Yee Bandhana' Vs 'NNJ'
Dr.Vishnuvardhana, Jayaprada, Darshan and Jennifer Kotwal starring 'Yee Bandhana' the debut direction of actress Vijayalakshmi is pitted against 'Naanu Neenu Jodi' starring Vijaya Raghavendra and Madhumitha directed by N.R.Nanjunde Gowda on this Friday. Both the films waited for a long time to hit the screen because of lack of theatres. Next week another big film 'Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe' is hitting the screen and the Ashwini production house has booked the theatres all over Karnataka. There is urgent hit for Dr.Vishnuvardhana as his two films in this year 'Ekadantha' and 'Mathad Mathad Mallige' have failed miserably in the box office. Darshan is also looking for break as he has no big hits this year but he has a guest role in 'Yee Bandhana'. This film re-shot to obtain the 100 percent entertainment exemption certificate is very crucial for producer Jai Jagdish. He has lost a few crores from his earlier films. The songs of 'Yee Bandhana' scored by super hit music director Mano Murthy have become a rage in the audio market for Anand Audio. 'Naanu Neenu Jodi' by Anjaneyulu Pripati directed by Nanjunde Gowda a creative director is the first release for prominent actor Vijaya Raghavendra after his marriage. Madhumitha the Tamil heroine is playing the lead for the first time in Kannada. Hamsalekha music in 'Naanu Neenu Jodi' is also good in the market according to Mohan the proprietor of Anand Audio.
