Well, the tagline was used for SRK's recent success 'Don' but it could well have been used for Priyadarshan's next release 'Bhagam Bhaag' which virtually seems one helluva chase as it arrives this Christmas. With the film's title itself indicating a film about a 'theatre on a run' and the howlarious starcast of Akshay Kumar, Govinda and Paresh Rawal to boost the prospects further, it is soon turning out to be one of the most awaited flicks before an immensely successful 2006 ends. Slated for a Dec 2006 release, the first promo of the film is out and has caught on well with the couch potatoes due to its racy appeal and a mad-mad comedy in the anvil. Arriving under the banner of K Sera Sera, Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Pvt Ltd and Popcorn Motion Pictures, 'Bhagam Bhaag' is a multi-starrer that also comprises of Jackie Shroff, Arbaaz Khan, Lara Dutta, Tanushree Datta, Shakti Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Sharat Saxena, Razzak Khan and Manoj Joshi.
Bhagam Bhag Mumbai Left Panting
Mumbai was in throes of frenetic running around from Churchgate to Bandra and till Borivali, as the 'BhagamBhag' treasure hunt flagged off in great style on December 17th. Involving around 50 colleges, the fun filled event saw young collegians running in their vehicles & bikes to search for an attractive treasure all over the city. Prizes were given for best bikes, cars and best teams by Director Priyadarshan, Govinda, Tanushree Dutta, Arbaaz Khan, Rajpal Yadav and Sharad Saxena. The celebrities had a round of talks with the college students and urged them all to see the film and laugh for two hours leaving all their troubles behind.
Bhagam Bhag opened in 282 screens in Mumbai
A total of whopping 282 screens opened to Priyadarshan's 'Bhagam Bhag' in Mumbai, and a Thousand screens all over India and world are showcasing Govinda and Akshay's tepid comic antics in front of the audience. First came the cool RS 1 Crore spent on the title song, then the record of 800 BEST Buses panels, and now this, looks like the film makers are sparing no efforts to spread the film maximum to the people who matter the most: the Aam Janta. If only the makers had spent some more time in making a quality entertaining film, 'Bhagam Bhag' may have been a better cinematic experience.
BHAGAM BHAG song used in DARLING
If you have been surfing the music channels, you would have already caught the number 'Aa Khushi Se Khud Khushi Kar Le' blazing all over. A promotional music video picturised on Fardeen Khan and Nisha Kothari, it is sizzling hot and is already getting the temperatures soaring. But are you aware that this Pritam composed song was earlier heard in the music album of Priyadarshan's BHAGAM BHAG though it was not used in the film? It was not even promoted at that point of time which has prompted T-Series, the music company for both BHAGAM BHAG and DARLING, to incorporate the song in this home production of theirs. One doesn't mind that at all though since 'Aa Khushi..' was anyways one of the highlight tracks of 'Bhagam Bhag' and there was always a question mark behind it not being used in the film. What makes the number further naughty is the girly chorus in the background that croons in English! A Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan sung number which has a trademark Pritam punch to it, it is being utlised to it's full potential now and measures are being taken to ensure that it goes an extra distance. Though one may not really want to give too much thought into lyrics like 'Aa Khushi Se Khud Khushi Kare', one has to credit Pritam for his zingy westernized arrangements as he fills up the entire song with so many musical instruments that there is hardly any moment to sit back and have a single relaxing moment!
Now Bhagam Bhag ties up with PHL
Priyadarshan's latest success 'Bhagam Bhag' continues to be in news.....and meanwhile rake in moolah! The League is become hotter and happening with every passing day as now even 'Bhagam Bhag' has come in support of the league. While the film's promos can be seen on the sports channel where the league is being telecast, even Akshay Kumar has been roped in to shoot for a specially created promo. A few days back we had had also mentioned about how top sports and Bollywood celebrities like Rabi Shastri, VVS Laxman, Madhavan, Jimmy Shergill and others were coming forward to support PHL [Premier Hockey League]. Later even 'Salaam-E-Ishq' tied up with the event as the film's promos were seen during the advertising of the league. A true case of 360 degree promotion helping India's twin obsession of sports and movies alive!
Exclusive Synopsis of Bhagam Bhag
Bhagam Bhag' is produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd and Popkorn Motion Pictures Private Limited, and is directed by Humor king Priyadarshan. The story goes as follows. Paresh Rawal has a theatre group in India and he performs shows all over the country. Akshay and Govinda along with others are actors in the group. Both are very naughty natured guys who never miss any chance to flirt with girls, ever the girls in the group. At the completion of one show, an organizer offers Paresh's group to perform 30 shows in England. All get very excited to hear the news but the day they had to leave for England, the heroine opts out due to Akshay's misbehavior. Through Rajpal, a taxi driver, Govinda and Akshay try to find out a girl for their play but it leads to many misunderstandings and a series of funny sequences. In this process, Govinda & Akshay fall into trouble involving a drug baron and other mishaps. Thereafter, the trio discovers a girl (Lara Dutta), who suffers from amnesia to act in their drama and just as Akshay and Lara fall in love, her memory returns and it brings chaos into their lives, including a murdered husband! From here the story leads to its climax in which a major conspiracy gets exposed and finally these three innocent guys are set free.
