Arshad & Bipasha - Bhai Behan?
A unique casting coup is on it's way. Arshad Warsi and Bipasha Basu would be appearing as on-screen brother-sister in upcoming GOAL. While John Abraham plays Bipasha's love interest, Arshad enacts the role of her cousin brother and the captain of a football team in UK which is down in dumps. Though John and Bipasha have appeared number of films together, this would be the first time that Arshad and Bipasha would be seen sharing the screen space. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, GOAL is a UTV production and is all set for a mega global release on 23rd November.
'Teen Thay Bhai' release postponed
The release of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's production venture "Teen Thay Bhai" has been delayed by two weeks. "The release date is now 15th April 2011, due to unavoidable circumstances," said a press statement by the production house. Earlier it was releasing on April 1, on the same day as Abhinay Deo's directorial debut "Game", starring Abhishek Bachchan and Kangana Ranaut. Mehra has co-produced the film with with PVR Pictures. "Teen Thay Bhai" is Mrighdeep Singh Lamba's directorial debut and stars Om Puri, Deepak Dobriyal, Shreyas Talpade and Ragini Khanna. As obivous from the title, this is a comedy about three brothers who dislike each other and how fate unites them. Looks like the cricket fever is taking a toll on producers to postpone their films.
'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' makers speaks out
'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' which has a special place in the Hindi film lovers hearts, took home the awards for the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment, best screenplay, best lyrics and best supporting actor awards. The film really deserved all the awards that it grabbed. He said that the achievements of the new comers Abhijaat Joshi who was one of the screenplay writers and Swanand Kirkire who won the best lyrics award makes him and Rajkumar Hirani very proud. Rajkumar Hirani, the director of the movie, said that he is very happy because a film based on the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi has won the best award for wholesome entertainment. He also praised Abhijaat Joshi and Swanand Kirkire by expressing that the new guys winning the prestigious awards make the magic moments even greater. Screen play writer Swanand Kirkire told that although he has won the award, the achievement was a result of a collaborative effort and the film is a collective piece of work. He conveyed his gratefulness to Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani and Shantanu Moitra for bringing the best out of him and creating the atmosphere where one can strive for excellence.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SALLU BHAI!
Salman Khan celebrates his birthday today (27th December). The actor turns 51! Salman had just one release in 2016 which was Sultan. Sultan is one of the biggest blockbusters ever made in Bollywood and Salman’s fans were very happy with the way the film came out. Now he is currently involved in the production of his next, Tubelight, directed by Kabir Khan. The film went on floors in August and they have completed just one schedule. The film is slated for release in 2017. Salman is currently doing one film at a time, he is now releasing just a film per year but still making a mark in the box office. Wishing Sallu Bhai a lot more blockbusters and a very happy birthday!
Pawan Kalyan, Jagan Bhai Bhai
In the YSRCP plenary meeting that took place yesterday, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced that he will do a state wide padayatra starting on October 27 from Anantapur. If one would remember, it was actually Pawan Kalyan who announced earlier that he will do padayatra from Anantapur and will contest from that place in the coming elections. Inside sources revealed that this plan of Jagan has actually irked Pawan Kalyan and that he shared some satires on him with his well wishers. Pawan Kalyan reportedly told his followers that if one would copy his party’s plans, it is good that they are following his ideas and is hopeful that they will do what his party plans for future too. As per the sources, Pawan Kalyan also added that if his padayatra highlights the problems of the people, he will be happier than anyone else and that he does not mind even if the credit goes to Jagan. Pawan in the meanwhile is busy shooting for his 25th movie with Trivikram and is taking some time out of it to look into party affairs. Well, 2019 is nearing and it looks like there will be a roller coaster ride on cards.
