This movie is an interesting thriller-comedy which amuses the audience and simultaneously grips the audience's interests by the mysterious turn of events. The backdrop of the film revolves around a small village/town where the people are very conservative and superstitious. Manoj Joshi heads a Brahmin family whose ancestral palace is believed to be haunted. One day, Shiny Ahuja and Vidya Balan, the son and daughter-in-law of Manoj's elder brother return to their native village from America and decide to settle down for a month in their ancestral palace. Events take on a twist when Vidya once opens a locked and forbidden room. As a result, some unnatural events start taking place inside the palace. Manoj Joshi and Paresh Rawal try to ward off the evil eye by approaching several black magicians and ghost busters but to no avail. Pritam composes classical track for BHOOL BHULAIYAA

Composer Pritam, who is most known for his funky rhythmic tunes or the out and out rock compositions, has sprung a surprise. In his soundtrack for Priyadarshan directed BHOOL BHULAIYAA, he has composed a number which is out and out Indian classical. Those who have seen the original of BHOOL BHULAIYAA would be aware about the fact that the story takes the viewer centuries back into the times of kings and their in-house dancers. For one such sequence in the film, this song 'Mere Dholna' has been created which has a classical base to it. Rendered by Shreya Ghoshal, this 7 minutes track is completely uncharacteristic to the kind of music that one has heard of Pritam and brings on a different dimension altogether. 'Mere Dholna' is not the kind of number that holds much mass appeal due to it's classical flavor but should do well on screen since it has a kind of rhythm and arrangements that paves the way for an elaborate dance sequence.

Amisha Patel's belated appearance for BHOOL BHULAIYAA

While Akshay Kumar walked away with all the accolades in BHOOL BHULAIYAA with Vidya Balan a little behind, neither Shiney Ahuja nor Amisha Patel gained much mileage from the film. At least Shiney was extensively involved in film's promotion with a substantial role in the film as well but Amisha suffered on both the counts. Now Amisha may have some reason to cheer about as her deleted song 'Sakhiya' has finally made it to the music channels. Readers may remember that though the song was set on a elaborate scale and featured both Shiney and Amisha, it never made it to the big screen. There were also murmurs about how Amisha was miffed with the song's exclusion from the final print. Since the promotion is on for the release of film's as well it's songs VCDs and DVDs, the track is finally on air.

Comic duo Paresh-Rajpal set to rock in BHOOL BHULAIYAA

Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav are two names which are almost regular in a Priyadarshan film. BHAGAM BHAG, MALAMAAL WEEKLY, CHUP CHUP KE, GARAM MASALA and HUNGAMA are just a few examples to quote. The two would now be aiming for setting the house on fire yet again as they are seen together in BHOOL BHULAIYAA. Remake of Rajnikanth starrer CHANDRAMUKHI which was primarily a dramatic outing, BHOOL BHULAIYAA instead follows a predominantly comic approach with gags, punch lines and funny situations expected to carry a Priyadarshan stamp. Add to it the lead actor in the form of Akshay Kumar and one can be sure that BHOOL BHULAIYAA would be an out and out fun outing. Stay tuned as the film gets set for an October 12 release.
