More news →Actor Natarajan ups style quotient in 'Bongu'
Cinematographer-turned-actor Natarajan Subramaniam aka Natty will be essaying an extremely stylish character in the upcoming Tamil road thriller "Bongu", which will go on floors this December. "In contrast to the roles he's played so far, Natty will be seen in a very stylish avatar. It'll be a road film and will be shot across locations such as Chennai, Mumbai, Dindigul and Madurai," a source from the film's unit told. The film will be produced by Raghukumar of RT Infinity banner. While actress Pooja Bisht has been chosen as one of the leads, the makers are yet to finalize on the leading lady. "Talks are going on with Raai Laxmi for the main lead. Depending on her availability, she will be cast. The makers also want to rope in a popular southern star for a cameo. Regular shooting will start from December 12 on the occasion of Rajinikanth's birthday as well as the film's producer," the source said. "Bongu" will be directed by debutant Tej.
'Theri' comes out clean, gearing up for Puthandu release with bonus song
Like we said earlier, the Censor Board of Film Certification has cleared Vijay‘s ‘Theri‘ with a clean ‘U’ certificate without a single cut, team officially confirms. Same is the case for the film’s Telugu version ‘Policeodu’. Following this, both the versions are gearing up to hit the screens on April 14. Meanwhile, in a surprise gift to Vijay fans, music composer G V Prakash Kumar has added one more track to the album. “A bonus little song In the last reel of #theri added in bgscore .. Bgscore completed and handed .. #dubtheristep at imp places will shine”, he posted on his online page. A police story written and directed by Atlee and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, ‘Theri’ is much awaited by Vijay fans. Samantha and Amy Jackson are the heroines, while Mahendran, Prabhu and Raadhika Sarathkumar amongst others form an ensemble cast. Featuring music composed by GVP and cinematography handled by George C Williams, Theri will have a grand theatrical release on Tamil New Year’s day. Vijay fans are making big arrangements to celebrate its release.
Peeya gets Bong Connection
Peeya Rai Chowdhury Munshi has replaced Riya Sen in the film Bong Connection. The director Joy had issues with Riya on her dates that she had allotted for the film. The film also stars Raima Sen and Peeya's husband Shayan Munshi. Peeya is now taking Bengali lessons from her husband to play it perfect in the Bong Connection. Peeya happened to be dropping by the sets often to visit her hubby. After all it's only been two months since they got married. The director around the same time found issues with Riya. He then offered her to play Riya's part, which she accepted. Unfortunately she will not share the screen with her hubby. She will in a week or two leave for her 30 days schedule to the US. She will join Joy who is already there. Shayan's part is almost completed in Kolkata. Its Peeya's turn now. Her character in Bong Connection is very similar in shades with her character in Bride and Prejudice. She has perennially got offers similar to that role. She has splendid performances in Vaastu Shastra, My brother Nikhil, Chupke Se and so on. The film is 25% in Bengali and 75% in English. It is being produced under the Moxie India banner.
Ram Charan to do 'Bongaru kodipetta' in 'Dheerudu'?
After making NTR dance for NTR Senior's Olammi tikkareginda song in Yamadonga, the latest talk in tinsel ville is that SS Rajamouli has big plans to make Ram Charan dance for the Bangaru kodipetta song from 'Gharana Mogudu'. The film is tentatively titled 'Dheerudu' and it is being said that MM Keeravani has done the remix version of the song. However, Rajamouli himself is yet to confirm the same.
