Why makers of 'Chameli Ki Shaadi' remake want Sonakshi?

Filmmakers Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao, who have plans to remake the 1986 entertainer "Chameli Ki Shaadi", feel Sonakshi Sinha would be the right actress who could add layers to the character essayed by Amrita Singh in the original. Sapru told: "I would love to have Sonakshi Sinha in the remake of 'Chameli Ki Shaadi'. Sonakshi has the most angelic face in the industry with almond eyes. She is a true beauty in Indian context. Sonakshi can absolutely justify Amrita's role and can also add layers to her character." Directed by Basu Chatterjee, the classic film "Chameli Ki Shaadi", features Anil Kapoor and Amrita Aingh in lead. Asked what prompted him to remake the film, Sapru said: "My current producer Deepak Mukut ('Sanam Teri Kasam' producer), he has the rights of this film and while we were doing this film we were also keen on remaking it. "We started working on the script and the script is ready. Basu's film is a slice-of-life, light-hearted kind of a film. We have tried to keep the charters relatable in today's date and time." The "Chameli Ki Shaadi" remake is slated to go on floors this year.

Anjali does a chameleon

Actress Anjali, who became a familiar face after the film 'Katrathu Tamizh' is currently working in 'Angadi Theru' - a film directed by the talented director of 'Veyyil' Vasanthabalan. Anjali plays a girl with rustic shades and hence was asked to reduce weight as well as get dark. Vasanthabalan proved his mettle with 'Veyyil' for his realistic approach. Obviously one can expect a lot of realism in 'Angadi Theru' as well. The actress religiously worked on both aspects. She lost five kilos and stood for long hours in the sun to lose complexion. The actress recounted her determination to lose color by saying, 'I used to stand in the sun for hours. But then when we went to shoot in a place called Thiruchendur, all of us became dark. The place had such scorching heat that every single one of us lost color'. Only after the shooting for 'Angadi Theru' is complete will Anjali decide on her next Tamil film. However, the actress will commence work on two Telugu projects. 'Both roles are glamorous in nature' declares Anjali.
