More news →Chandan describes 'Mango' as funny, absurd love story
Chandan Roy Sanyal, known for playing Shahid Kapoor's best friend in "Kaminey", will be seen in Abbas Tyrewala's "Mango" and says it is an absurd love story. Talking about the concept of the upcoming movie, Chandan said: "'Mango' is a very absurd love story. It's a romantic comedy, which has three boys and two girls. I am very excited about the project as it's a very funny love story." Chandan, who is working with Tyrewala, for the first time, finds him "an excellent filmmaker". "He is one of the most intelligent directors I have ever come across. He is a wonderful writer as well. I feel grateful to work with him." Tyrewala, known for films "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na" and "Jhootha Hi Sahi". Mostly shot in Goa, the last portion of "Mango" is left to shoot. Chandan said: "We shot almost the entire film in Goa and now the last portion is left, which will be shot in Goa by August." "Mango" also features Rannvijay and his brother Harman along with Monali Thakur and Swara Bhaskar.
Writer of Chandni Bar is back
While 'Chandni Bar' brought ample recognition for Madhur Bhandarkar and Tabu, one person who was surprisingly ignored was the film's writer, Mohan Azad. The man who had done the dialogues and screenplay didn't really become a hot property after the release of the film in spite of churning out a sensitive saga. Now, he is back with yet another women centric film about their emotional turmoil and sacrifices they make. The film is called 'Janani' and stars Bhagyashree and Ayesha Jhulka as the central protagonists. The film also stars Mohnish Behl and Aman Verma and releases all over on 6th October. 'Janani' is an ULTRA release.
Music rights of 'Chandni Chowk to China' sold
Audio rights of Akshay Kumar's new film has been acquired by T-series 'Chandni Chowk to China' the action comedy film is a tale of a cook in Delhi going to China to learn martial arts will be quite interesting to watch if the newness of the story idea is presented properly and Akshay kumar as the hero is the perfect choice not only because he himself is a martial arts enthusiast but has proved long back his talent and timing for presenting comedy. Music Director Bappi Lahri has sung a song for the film. The music is composed by Shankar Ehssan loy and Kailash Kher. The movie produced by Mukesh Taleja, Ramesh Sippy and Warner Bros. is directed by Nikhil Advani and written by Sridhar Raghvan. Majority portion of the film is shot in China and has the beautiful Deepika Padukone playing double role. The market value of the music tracks of Akshay Kumar has also gone up with the rising star status of the action hero. Just the other day the audio rights of 'Sing is Kingg' were sold for a record price. How much must have T-Series paid for this new movie of Akshay. Any guesses?
'Bommana Brothers Chandana Sisters' belly dancing
The film will be a laugh riot, say the makers. It has Naresh in the lead opposite Farzana. The unit is busy picturising songs in various locations. One schedule has been completed in Dubai recently. The highlight of this film would be the belly dancing song that they have picturised in the desert kingdom. What's funny about the script is that it has characters named after famous cloth stores within the State. Even the villains are apparently called Tummidi Brothers. Now, they are off to Konaseema. Later, they will go to Vizag and Araku. Though both the leading heroes have been finalized, another girl is yet to be cast. The unit is still on the lookout.
Bommana Brothers & Chandana Sisters certified
All seems to be going on the right track for Bommana Brothers & Chandana Sisters (BBCS). Very recently the film was scanned by the Censor Board and received a clean U-Certificate from the board. This film is being directed by Srinivas Reddy and produced by Ammiraju Kanumilli. The producer has also confirmed that BBCS will hit theatres on May 18, with almost 58 prints. Full score goes to the screenplay as well as the title of this film. The comedy that runs through the entire length of the film also deserves brownie points. 'BBCS' has a huge star cast with the male leads being played by Naresh and Krishna Bhaghawan and the credits for the female roles go to Farzana & Ridhima. This film which is sure to tickle you out of your senses with rib-tickling humor is being made under the Siri Cinema banner and presented by E.V.V.Satyanarayana. So people, get set for a fun ride with the team of 'BBCS'!
'Chandamama' shooting in brisk progress
The regular shooting of a film directed by Krishnavamsi and produced by C Kalyan on the banner of Teja Productions with Navadeep, Sivabalaji as heroes and Andhraiti and Madhusalini as heroines has begun in Hyderabad recently. The film is presently shooting at Jayabheri Guest House and a huge set was erected there for the purpose. Navadeep, Andhraiti, Madhusalini and some other senior artistes were involved in the shooting which is going on continuously. The film is being made a total commercial and youthful entertainer. It was expected that the film would complete the talkie shooting by June-end and efforts are on to release the film in July. Though 'Malle Puvvu' considered as title for the movie, 'Chandamama' was the title confirmed for the movie, it is reliably learnt. Krishnavamsi who earned the name as a creative director and who had several successes to his credit is taking this film as a prestigious project. Like 'Sindhuram and Khadgam', the director is trying to make this as a 'Small Big Film'.
