The suspense is over. It is Victory Venkatesh who has bagged the lead role in Chandramukhi 2 after many biggies’ names made rounds. The news is making rounds from past few days about the remake of this Kannada block buster, Aptharakshaka which is creating new records in Kannada film history with its collections. The movie is being directed by P.Vasu and BellamKonda Suresh is producing it under his banner Sri Sai Productions. The movie is all set to launch grandly in the month of May. On the event Bellamkonda Suresh said, “After the sensational hit like ‘Chandramukhi’, P Vasu directed the sequel for it as ‘Aaptha Rakshaka’ in Kannada which has become a super hit at box office with Rs 40 crores as its gross collection which is also the all time record in Kannada. Now, we are going to remake the same in Telugu with Venkatesh in the lead and P Vasu as director. ‘Aaptha Rakshaka’ is a family entertainer that is attracts all category people. This subject will aptly suit Venkatesh Babu. He saw the film, got inspired and immediately gave his nod to do the film. Venkatesh Babu’s ‘Chanti’ is also an all time hit with P.Vasu. Now I feel very lucky to do a film in this combo. This movie is going to be a prestigious one with huge star cast and high technical standards. We are planning to launch the film in May.” Other cast and crew of the film are awaited!
Anushka in Chandramukhi Part 2
Chandramukhi-2 seems to be turning out as a big project in Telugu version with all the biggies in it. Venkatesh has recently signed up for this film and now, director, P.Vasu seems to be considering Anushka for the title role of the film and if reports are to be believed Anushka has given her nod for the film. GV.Prakash in Chandramukhi Part 2
GV Prakash Kumar, the famous music director in Kollywood and the nephew of AR Rahman is drawing the attention from the tollywood film-makers as well, these days. GV has earlier scored music for the Telugu film, ‘Ullasanga Uthsahanga’ under Karunakaran’s direction and proved his talent. The Telugu film-makers who have the practice of roping in Kollywood music directors are now roping in GV for their projects. It is known that GV Prakash is scoring the tunes for Prabhas latest film ‘Darling’ which is again a Karunakaran’s directorial. Now, the latest news is that he has been roped in by P.Vasu for his Chandramukhi-2 which has Venkatesh in the lead role. Well, looks like GV’s turn started in tollywood!

Police Monday began questioning Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik in connection with the complaint filed against him by Ayesha Siddiqui, who claims to be his first wife. A police team reached the residence of Shoaib’s bride-to-be and Indian tennis star Sania Mirza in Banjara Hills. Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravinder Reddy and Banjara Hills police inspector Iqbal Siddiqui reached Sania’s residence around 9.30 a.m. to question him. Shoaib, who landed here Friday, has been staying at Sania’s house in preparation for their April 15 wedding. After questioning Shoaib, police may also record Ayesha’s statement before taking further action in the case. Following a complaint by Ayesha, a first information report (FIR) was registered Monday at Banjara Hills police station on charges of cheating, dowry harassment and criminal intimidation. Since the charges are serious and non-bailable, the police Sunday night alerted all airports not to allow Shoaib to leave India. The FIR has been booked under sections 498 A (harassment), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Section 498 A also relates to cruelty against married women. A senior police officer said they were also taking legal opinion on the complaint against Shoaib as it involved a foreigner and the crimes might have been committed by him abroad. The police may also have to take permission from the union home ministry before arresting Shoaib. Police officers said they would take further action on the complaint only after seeking
Venky’s ‘Chandramukhi – 2’ in Bangalore!
We know that you are all aware of the news that victory Venkatesh is busy with the shooting of his latest sequel film ‘Chandramukhi -2’ which is tentatively titled as ‘Nagavalli’. It is also might be known that he is going to romance with five heroines such as Anushka, Richa Gangopadhyay, Kamalini Mukherjee, Sraddha Das and Poonam Kaur in the film. It is being directed by P.Vasu and produced by Bellamkonda Suresh. The latest update about the film is that currently the film is shooting in Bangalore and few important scenes are being shot and the schedule will continue for September 5th. Later the team will be back to Hyderabad and will have two more schedules. The producer is planning to complete the film by September and to release it in October.
Chandramukhi is Number 1
Sunil Agnihotri has done it again. His latest Fantasy Costume Drama 'Chandramukhi' on DD1 has managed to grab the highest number of eyeballs in its 3rd Week of telecast itself. Comments an obviously proud director, "All my previous shows from Chandrakanta to Yug to Betal Pachisee and Jai Ganesha have maintained the top three positions. My latest show Chandramukhi began almost after a hiatus of five-six years but I have managed to prove that good work always wins. We are second only to Cricket, which is like religion to Indians." Chandramukh received a TVR of 22.3 on Tuesday November 11, 2007 from 10PM , in the week 11th November 2007 to 17th November 2007 (Target Audience 4+ nonCS). Even in all TV homes Chandramukhi was the number one show in serials second only to Cricket on DD1. In all TV homes and in 4+ age group Chandramukhi received a TVR of 5.5 in the week 11th November 2007 to 17th November 2007 (source TAM people meter). So well received is the show on Tuesday 10Pm to 11PM slot that DD1 started the repeat telecast at Sunday morning prime time from 9.30 AM to 10.30 AM. Naturally production house Applause Entertainment is very happy about this feat of Sunil Agnihotri. According to his artist and friend Mamik, "We all had full faith in Sunil and we knew that his magic is still intact. That is why we all were so keen to work with him again. He is truly a master of fantasy."
