Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan on Wednesday unveiled the trailer of his upcoming Tamil action-thriller "Cheekati Rajyam". In the action-packed trailer, Haasan and Prakash Raj trade blows. "In a long time, I've felt we've made a film that is totally organised with a vision," Prakash Raj told reporters. He also added that "Cheekati Rajyam" will create a new path in the thriller genre in Indian cinema. Trisha, who has teamed up with Kamal for the second time, said she considers herself extremely lucky to have got the opportunity. A racy thriller, the film is said to unfold in a single night in a bar called Insomnia. The film also features Madhu Shalini, Sampath Raj, Kishore and Asha Sharath in important roles. Kamal Haasan plays a policeman, while Prakash Raj will be seen as his corrupt partner. Directed by Kamal's long-time associate Rajesh M Selva, the film has been simultaneously Amade in Tamil as "Thoongaavanam". The film has music by Ghibran.
Kamal Haasan invites Andhra CM for 'Cheekati Rajyam' premiere
Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan on Thursday met and sought permission from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to organise the premiere of his upcoming Telugu film "Cheekati Rajyam". "I went to seek his permission to have the premiere of my film in Vijayawada. I also invited him to watch our film with the audience. He kindly agreed," Haasan said in a statement. He also revealed that he plans to have two premieres -- one each in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on the same day, and also confirmed his presence. The show timings will have a six-hour gap facilitating travel for the stars. The film, which was directed by Kamal's erstwhile assistant Rajesh M. Selva, is the official remake of French thriller "Sleepless Night". The Tamil version released on Tuesday worldwide and has been received well. "Cheekati Rajyam" also stars Prakash Raj, Trisha Krishnan, Sampath Raj and Kishore.
