Two Mumbai beauties from Hindi cinema Gauri Karnik of 'Sur' fame and Sonal Chauhan of 'Jannath' are making debut in Kannada films of producer N.M.Suresh of Thulaja Bhavani creations. After giving a notable performance in Lucky Ali's 'Sur' Gauri Karnik had a self imposed exile for two and half years and bounced back in six Hindi and English film in her career is seen in Kannada film 'Karanji' directed by newcomer Sridhar. Veera Samarth is the music director of this musical love story film 'Karanji'. Gauri Karnik speaking to media persons on Thursday evening at the climax song shoot for 'Karanji' said she is happy and comfortable working in Kannada. A trained Hindustani classical singer Gauri Karnik sung a few lines of her song Muridha Maradha Rambe Mele Hakkiyondu Koothide'.written y state award winning writer M.K. Hanumanthaiah of her first South Indian film 'Karanji'. The heroine of 'Jannath' (with Imran Hashmi) Sonal a Delhite armed with graduation in World tourism from Malaysia is making her debut in South India from 'Cheluveye Ninna Nodalu' that is directed by debutant Raghuram for producer N.M.Suresh. Hat trick hero Shivarajakumar is in the lead role of this Sonal starring Kannada film that will be shot in Seven Wonders of the World. The shooting for this film begins from November this year.
Kabir Lal comes back
One of the dexterous cameramen of this country Kabir Lal son of SS Lal also a cameraman who made debut in Kannada cinema from 'Karthavya' before working as assistant with his father for more than 10 films is returning back with a big bang to Kannada in 'Cheluveye Ninna Nodalu'. Kabir Lal who has a strong base in Mumbai working in Subhash Ghai films like Taal, Pardesh and various other bigwigs' movies has done camera work for 25 Kannada films of all super stars of Kannada cinema. He worked as assistant cameraman in Dr.Rajakumar films such as 'Bhaktha Prahallada' and 'Yaarivanu'. Kabir Lal has completed more than 90 films is intending to take up direction in Hindi. Kabir Lal came down to Bangalore recently and visited the sets of his forthcoming producer N.M.Suresh's 'Karanji' Kannada cinema. He heard the story of the film from Raghuram the director of 'Cheluveye Nina Nodalu' and impressed with the script.
Shiv is 'Punyavantha'
Not in very comfortable position in the box office of first half of this year hat trick hero Shivarajakumar is having bizarre of films on hand that is keeping him busy on the floor. 'Cheluveye Ninna Nodalu' that will be shot in seven wonders of the world. Now the news comes from ace lyricist cum director Dr.Nagendra Prasad that Shivarajakumar is 'Punyavantha'. A.T.Lokesh of 'Dhuniya' fame of whom 'Zindagi' is releasing this week is the producer of 'Punyavantha'.
'Karanji' musical treat
Producer N.M.Suresh irrespective of failure or success is forging ahead in making films. He has just finished 'Gandhi Smiles' a different type of Kannada cinema, announced a film on seven wonders of the world starring Shivarajakumar ' Cheluveye Ninna Nodalu' and now started a quickie 'Karanji' starring Vijaya Raghavendra and Bollywood actress Gauri Karnik (who figured in 'Sur') in the direction of debutant Sridhar. Veera Samarth is scoring music for seven songs and six bits in the film. This film went on the floors at Nandi Teertha temple in Malleswaram on 27th of April. This is a musical film in which Vijaya Raghavendra plays the head of a music band. He is a guitar player and heroine Gauri Karnik is a dominant singer in the film. In the love story interspersed 'Karanji' the different musical tradition of Karnataka is focused with poems from Santa Shishunala Sharief, Purandara Dasa, T.P.Kailasam Kolike Ranga song, folk songs etc says Sridhar highlighting on the contents of his maiden film. Sridhar has worked as script associate television and ad films director in the past. Veera Samarth a boy from Bidar who has worked with ace composers and singers Ravindra Jain, Suresh Wadkar, Ismail Durbar, Shuba Mudgal was playing the Tamboora instrument in Pandit Bhimsen Joshi recitals. He intends to give right treatment to the rich lyrics with a classical touch. This will be the year's best music of a film says the confident Veera Samarth. Cameraman Guruprasad with FTI diploma has worked in Mumbai for quite some time and joined the Kannada film scene with his friend Santosh Rai Pathaje in films like Savi Savi Nenapu and Telugu film Andamaina Mansulu. He is now independently handling the camera.
