Chemistry for history

Saranya, daughter of Bhagyaraj and Poornima, is naturally happy as well as anxious as her debut vehicle Parijatham releases tomorrow. She has the envious job of living up to the expectations of the public as well as match the reputation of her illustrious parents. The young girl is unfazed by the challenge. Though film aspirations came pretty late in her life, Saranya, if unit hands are to be believed, has shown fine maturity and understanding as an actress. Saranya says Parijatham will be a good candy floss romantic entertainer. 'My dad's touch with humor, coupled with a double character for me makes it all interesting'. Saranya also says it was nice to work with Prithviraj who also comes from a star family. The duo hit it off well on the sets and are said to very friendly with each other. So will this chemistry make history? Well, we will know tomorrow.

My chemistry with Yami is organic: Ayushmann

Singer-actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who has worked with Yami Gautam twice, says he shares an organic chemistry with the actress. After making their successful Bollywood acting debut in 2012 with Shoojit Sirkar's "Vicky Donor", the two teamed up again for a romantic music video titled "Yahin hoon Main" this month. Talking about their chemistry, the actor said: "Yami and I share an organic chemistry. While working on the video, I felt the same kind of vibe between us. The only thing is, I didn't have abs at that time." "I did my first internship with her dad Mukesh Gautam. We are family friends so, the equation is always natural," he added. The music of the song, sung by Ayushmann, is by Rochak Kohli and the actor himself. Would it get better response than his previous hit number "Pani da rang"? "'Pani da rang' had that weight of the film. Because it went with the story, people accepted it easily. It is far more challenging for a single music video to cut through that," he said.

Big B's chemistry with children

It is not on a daily basis that the child artists get to act with an ace artist as Amitabh. We have heard how disciplined the location is while Big B is present, but for the kids on the sets, he seems to be one of their favorite actors who plays with them and jokes with them. The chemistry that the senior Bachchan shares with the kids is wonderful. It is amazing the way these children find their way into the hearts of great stars. Bachchan senior is currently shooting for his up coming film 'Bhoothnath' with a cute child artiste, Aman Siddiqui. Yes the same kid who looks like cupid and plays the part of junior Saif Ali Khan in 'Eklavya'. Big B in 'Boothnath' plays the role of a ghost who initially is not very good at helping people but turns to a good ghost when he befriends a little child whose part is played by Aman. There are a lot of films where the children almost out shine their more experienced counterparts. We got to see one such fantastic performance was from Sweeni Khare in the film 'Cheeni Kum' who won our hearts hands down with her wonderful and very natural performance of a child with a brain ailment. Many shed a tear when the character dies in the film. But coming back to the topic of ghosts, we wonder where the directors and even the actors get their inspiration for doing such films. Is it from books and films that we have been seeing from our small years or due to some unnatural experience from the other world? We will never know.

Will Imran-Kareena’s chemistry work at box-office?

Karan Johar is returning this week to woo the box office with a romantic comedy which coincides with the Valentine’s Day revelries. He has teamed up with the fresh pair of Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor to attract the audiences. Directed by debutant Shakun Batra, the film’s cast has Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah and Ram Kapoor and it will be released on 1,200 screens worldwide. It is made at an approximate budget of Rs.25-30 crore. In “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na”, Ratna had played Imran’s mother, but her character in the new film is a complete contrast. In the film, Rahul Kapoor (Imran), an architect in Vegas, loses his job, but doesn’t share the bad news with his parents and secretly starts the job hunt. His life takes a turn when Riana Braganza (Kareena), a quick-witted hairstylist, enters his life. They meet and after a fun-filled night of debauchery, Rahul and Ria wake up to discover they’ve got married. They decide to annul their marriage, but in the course of next 10 days they stay together, fight, laugh and end up developing an unlikely friendship which eventually turns into love. The film was earlier titled “Short-Term Shaadi”, but later changed to “Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu”. Going by the promos, the film seems to be targetted towards younger audiences. Extensively shot in Las Vegas, the entire cast and crew enjoyed working there as the shooting schedule coincided with the festive season of Christmas and New Year celebrations. Some parts of the film have also been shot in Pataudi, Haryana. While shooting for the film, Imran also turned a photographer and clicked Kareena. Later, an exhibition was held where all those photographs were put on display. There were reports that the film’s story is similar to that of Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher-starrer “What Happens In Vegas”, but the producer denies this contending that the fact that they get married in Vegas is only an aspect of the movie and not the entire movie. The story is different. The peppy and fun-filled songs of the film composed by Amit Trivedi are already a rage among youngsters and are being frequently played on radio stations. After the success of Dharma Productions’ “Agneepath”, expectations are high from the romantic comedy which is also produced by the same banner.
