Swati, the doctor-cum-anchor who was a huge hit with her show Colours, ventured into acting. Then she did a role for Krishnavamsi, as he was the only one who could cajole her to do it. Then a role in Adavari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule followed. This was a memorable role where she got to act opposite Venkatesh. Now comes the news that Swati will be doing a film as a full-length heroine in a film titled 'Ashta Chemma'. To be directed by award-winning director Mohana Krishna Indraganti, the shooting for the film will start soon.
'Ashta Chemma' to hit screen on Sept 5
Directed by Mohanakrishna Indraganti, presented by D Sureshbabu and produced by Rammohan on the banner of Art Beat Capital Pvt Ltd., with 'Colours' Swati in the lead role had completed censor formalities and bagged a clean certificate. Presenter Sureshbabu says, 'The producer of the film Rammohan is one of my good friends for the past some time. He had a wish to producer a film. He liked the script, and I too gave him certain suggestions. The film came out in an entertaining way. We are planning to release the film on September 5. Sekhar Kammula bagged the rights to distribute the film overseas.' Sekhar Kammula says, 'The producer sought some suggestions on how to business a film and screened it to me. The taking is quite novel and it is a non-stop comedy entertainer As the film is very near to my favourite style, I chose to distribute the film overseas in the name of 'Touring Talkies'.' Director Mohanakrishna says, 'It was Sureshbabu who stood like a rock behind us to avoid compromise at any time. The producer also liked the storyline narrated to him long ago and came forward to produce it. Sekhar Kammula not only agreed to watch the film without any ego, but also took the overseas distribution rights, which is a greatest compliment for me. I don't need to mention once again about Kalyani Malik's music and Sirivennela's lyrical values. It is a romantic comedy with honest love in its backdrop.'
Venkatesh unveils 'Ashta Chemma' audio
The audio of 'Ashta Chemma' directed by Mohanakrishna Indraganti, presented by D Sureshbabu and produced by P Rammohan on the banner of Art Beat Capital Pvt Ltd., was launched recently. Venkatesh, who attended the programme as chief guest, released the audio cassettes and complimented the film unit. Director Mohanakrishna says, 'The film was made with elements like love and entertainment. In the game of Ashta Chemma, the players make steps one after the other for a win. In our film, two pairs do a similar game live to win their love. Nani, Srinivas, Swathi and Bhargavi are playing the lead artistes. We selected Swati as heroine after watching her performance in 'Aadavari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule'. Shooting of the film was complete and we are making efforts to release the film either by the end of August or in the first week of September. The speciality of the film is that, all the artistes in the film are from Telugu background.' Producer Rammohan says, 'Mohanakrishna had narrated this story long ago. We are glad for bringing out a film with a different subject. Moreover, we are very happy as we got a good support from D Sureshbabu.' Kalyani Malik scored music for the film, while Big Music is marketing the audio. Tanikella Bharani, Jhansi, Hema, Sivannarayana, Vasu Inturi, Goparaju Ramana, Ramakrishna, Srinubabu and others are in the cast. Camera is by PG Vinda, editing is by Marthand K Venkatesh.
Sumanth and Swathi are pairing up for a film with ‘Asta Chemma’ team
It is known that Sumanth and Swathi are pairing up for a film with ‘Asta Chemma’ team. And now, the ace cinematographer, Senthil Kumar will be handling the camera for this flick. He will be reportedly charging Rs.40 lakhs per film. Senthil has earlier handled the cinematography for super hit films like Arundhati, Magadheera. The film will be directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti and produced by P.Ram Mohan. Art Beat Capital Ltd will be present this film. Hari Mohan has provided the story. Apart from wielding the megaphone, Mohan Krishna Indraganti is handling the dialogues and the screenplay. The movie is inspired from the book, ‘The Men Within’ and also has a cricket backdrop. The film might hit the floors in the month of April.
'Ashta Chamma', 'Ankit Pallavi & Friends', 'Saroja' on 5th September
Three small budget films are getting ready for release this 5th of September are: 'Ashta Chamma', 'Ankit Pallavi & Friends' and 'Saroja'. 'Ashta Chamma' is directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti. Swati and Nani are in the lead pair. The story is woven around a young girl who is obsessed with the star actor Mahesh Babu. The film is presented (distributed) by Suresh Babu and will be released in 35 centers in AP. Shekhar Kammula is scheduling the release in overseas according to the sources. 'Ankit Pallavi & Friends' is directed by Hari Eleti, has Nikhil of Happy Days fame and debutant Megha Burman in the lead roles. The film is a romantic entertainer, presenting a fresh image of friendship among the youth. 'Saroja' made in Telugu and Tamil, is directed by Venkat Prabhu. Srihari and Vaibhav are the male leads while Kajol plays the heroine. Nikhita is appearing in a special role. The story is woven around seven young persons and Praksah Raj and Jayaram. Censoring will be completed this week and is to be released on 5th of September.
'Ashta Chamma' premier at Vizag and Vijayawada
Indraganti Mohana Krishna directed Ashta Chamma introducing Nani as hero and 'Colors' Swathi as heroine on Artbeat Capitals banner. Earlier he directed Grahanam based on a novel Doshagunam by Chalam is busy with showcasing premiers of the new flick in Vizag and Vijayawada. The unit toured along with the director. This variety film planned to be released in overseas by Sekhar Kammula and by Suresh Productions in the Naizam area of AP, has created high expectations among the movie goes.
