Years have gone by and we have seen our beloved stars sizzle on screen for umpteen times. Now, their children are all grown up and it's their turn to make it big in the Tollywood town. A quite common fact of kids taking up the place as successors is well acquainted and in cinema it just gets even the more publicized. A former arrival in the series is Raghubabu, son of the multi-persona Giribabu. A successful producer-director-actor, the senior father also enacted beside his son during the initial days. On the start, he was deprived of a good number of offers. However, he continued to strive giving his best all the time. Then he created a steady place for himself in Tollywood doing role of a villain or comedian in about 160 movies. Now, people have recognized him as a delivering artist. The movies 'Chennakesava Reddy', 'Aadi', 'Dil', 'Bunny', 'Kabadi Kabadi', 'Murari' including the recent Gopichand starrer 'Shouryam', gave scope projecting him as a good actor. Presently, he enacts in various roles of villain, character artist, a straight comedian or sometimes a comical goon. Interestingly the senior producer cum hero Mohan Babu has also passed through such a phase in his career and is now one of the top artists. Raghubabu's dire wish is to play a protagonist and make the movie a hit. Recently, he did a full positive role in a film. A bad turn that the movie did not reap success as expected. Thus, his wish is still in the dungeons. Recently, when he was approached and asked to reveal a sweet memory, he replied, 'every moment I spent with my father in the making of a scene are sweet memories to me'. Sweet memories, indeed!
No more dubbing films: Suresh's b'day resolution
Deva would be my last dubbing film says Bellamkonda Suresh. The film is due for release soon and has Asin and Surya in the lead in the next week. But Suresh feels he is done with remake films. Though he was instrumental in dubbing some mega budget films such as Sivaji, he also bought the rights and made films such as Naa Autograph and Vallabha in Telugu. Now, he says he would like to go back to making films in Telugu itself. Bellamkonda Suresh had initially started his career by making Sambaiah and then followed that up with films like Aadi and Chennakesava Reddy. Now, he has a film on the floor with Tarun and Ileana. Incidentally, it is his birthday today and this he says is his resolution for future. IG wishes the ace producer a very happy birthday!
Happy birthday to Shriya
Glamorous heroine Shriya was born on September 11 to Neeraja and Pushpendra Saran couple at Ranipur near Haridwar, the most revered religious place of the Hindus. She completed her primary education at Delhi Public School in Haridwar and took her BA literature degree at Lady Sriram College. Shriya is fond of dance right from her childhood and took dance training in Kathak discipline with Sobha Narayan. Later, she started her career as a model and then played in some music albums. She entered the Telugu film industry through 'Ishtam' in 2001 as heroine. She played opposite Balakrishna for 'Chennakesava Reddy' directed by VV Vinayak in 2002. She also played in films like 'Yela Cheppanu, Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu, Santosham, Tagore' in 2003. Of them 'Santosham' was a super hit film, while 'Tagore' was a blockbuster. Her films in 2004 were 'Nenunnanu, Balu ABCDEFG, Nuvve Nuvve, Neeku Nenu Naaku Nuvvu'. Of all these, 'Nuvve Nuvve' earned her good recognition as an artiste. Her films in 2005 include Subhash Chandra Bose, Mogudu Pellam O Dongodu, Soggadu and Arjun, while in 2006, she played as a guest artiste in Game, Devadasu, Bommalata while playing heroine in Naa Alludu and Sada Mee Sevalo. In 2007, she played in 'Munna', 'Boss' and 'Sivaji'. As far as Telugu film industry, she played opposite top stars as well as young heroes like Mega Star Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Balakrishna, Maheshbabu, Tarun, Raja. She played opposite Rajanikanth in Sivaji. Most of her films were hits. Not only in Telugu, Shriya also played heroine in Tamil and Hindi films. She earned national-level recognition with her Hindi films like 'Tujhe Meri Kasam, Thoda Thum Badlo Thoda Hum and Aavaarapan'.
VV Vinakak to do a film with Kodali Nani
VV Vinayak made his debut with 'Aadi', made it a blockbuster and rewrote the collections records in Telugu film industry. Later, he did 'Chennakesava Reddy' with Balakrishna as hero and made it a successful film. His other films 'Dil, Tagore, Bunny, Samba and Lakshmi' also proved big hits. Now, Kodali Nani who had produced 'Samba' in NTR-Vinayak combo, is planning another film under the direction of Vinayak on the banner of 'Kodali Movies'. It is reliably learnt that a top hero is playing the lead and the film would go to sets in summer.
Happy Birthday to VV Vinayak
VV Vinayak had started his career as an exhibitor at Chagallu in West Godavari district. Later, he entered the film industry by working as an assistant with Sagar in direction department. During the shooting of 'Chappalani Vundi' in abroad, Vinayak got an opportunity to meet NTR and narrated a fantastic subject. His life took a different turn with the nod given by NTR and Telugu industry got a blockbuster called 'Aadhi'. At a time when the Telugu industry is in crisis for good and creative directors, Vinayak turned director and created a sensation. There is no looking back for Vinayak from then onwards. He gave a big hit for Nitin with 'Dil'. Next he got an opportunity to direct one of the top heroes Balakrishna and he did 'Chennakesava Reddy'. In a short span of his career as director, Vinayak got a chance to direct Mega Star Chiranjeevi. Their combination gave the best movie in Chiranjeevi's career in the form of 'Tagore'. Later, he joined hands with Allu Arjun and gave him another hit called 'Bunny'. Vinayak's last flick is with Venkatesh and the film 'Lakshmi' remained the biggest victory. Now VV Vinayak is busy directing Young Rebel Star Prabhas for 'Yogi' with Nayantra in the female lead and Kadapa Mayor Ravindranath Reddy as producer.
