Sreenivasan in Tamil films

Sreenivasan is a name to reckon with in Malayalam filmdom. A talented actor and an efficient script-writer, many of his films have been hugely successfull in Kerala. Films like the Rajini starrer 'Kuselan', Karunaas's 'Dindigul Sarathy' and Thangar Bachchan's 'Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy' were remade from his classics. The latest buzz is that director Thamira is planning to rope in Sreenivasan for her forthcoming Tamil venture 'Rettai Suzhi'. The movie to be produced by director Shankar's S Films, is expected to go to the floors very soon. Rumors are agog that veteran directors Bharathiraja and K Balachander too have agreed to be part of the film. Thamira had earlier written dialogues for Balachander's 'Poi'.

Navya is happy

Even though Navya has got no releases for this Vishu in Malayalam, her film with director-actor Cheran's Mayakkannadi has raised the highest expectations in the Tamil New Year. The film places her in the role of a beauty parlor employee, a city girl with trendy costumes, unlike her previous homely roles. As the film is expected to do the best in the season, she is thrilled about her role in the film. She was stuck to homely roles in her previous films like Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy, Amirtham and Aadum Koothu. Navya is in all praise for Cheran who has casted her in back to back roles in Aadum Koothu and Mayakkannadi. She is thankful to the director to have her escape the stereotypes and helped her in a role of difference. Meanwhile, her Malayalam film Saira directed by Dr Biju has been selected to the Cannes festival and is the opening film of the Indian section there. She has also been signed up for a Kannada flick, a film in Malayalam with Indrajith and another news is doing the rounds that she has been asked to act opposite Siddharth in a new film. Altogether it seems to be a good time of Navya.

Learnt a lot working with Cheran: Navya

Navya Nair is all thrilled with the release of Mayakkannadi this weekend. She plays the heroine to Cheran in the movie. A thrilled Navya Nair says, 'I am fortunate to have acted with a talented film personality like Cheran in two consecutive films. After completing Aadum Koothu. I was assigned to act with Cheran again for Mayakkannadi. I learnt a lot working with him'. 'After the release of movies like Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy and Amirtham, I was branded as an actress who can do only homely roles. Thanks to Cheran, I play a city girl in Mayakkannadi. I appear in trendy costumes and have more scope to perform', she adds. Buzz is that Navya has been urged to play Siddharth's heroine in her forthcoming Tamil venture. Naren's graph rising

The success of Chithiram Pesuthadi has brought out a star in Naren. The debutant hero won the appreciation of masses and the media. Naren has wowed all with his uncomplicated histrionics. One of who has been throughly impressed is actor-director Thangar Bachchan. The latter has urged him to play the lead role in his next venture Pallikoodam. A newcomer might play Naren's heroine. It may be recalled that Thankar Bachchan last venture Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy featured himself and Navya Nair in the lead roles and the movie did average business at the box office. Let's hope Pallikoodam goes on to make it big.
