Cricket loosing its spirits - Nikitha Anand
The coming of the Indian premier League (IPL) made news not just because of its novelty, and the big bucks that the cricketers are to make, but also because of the presence of many of the B-Town megastars in the new league either as owners or being part of the publicity campaigns of various teams. In Bollywood language the pre production stage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has got over, now the production stage have begun. The coming of the IPL gave lots of reasons for some B-Town Megastars to smile. But not all in the celebrity list are quite happy with the introduction of the new cricket league. Actress and former miss India Nikita Anand who also handled the task of a sports anchor for some time feels the IPL to be a complete joke and not good for the future of cricket. She thinks that India where cricket is more like a cult and not just a game due to the over exposure and with the influx of big bucks and too much glamour will kill the real spirit of the game. NIkitha, a die hard fan of cricket herself not at all enjoys the Twnety20 matches and feels that now she has lost the passion for the game. The upcoming actress who will be seen soon in a film called 'Monopply' and 'Ek Second-Jo Zindagi Badal De' feels the new short format of the game robs away the classic techniques which makes cricket so beautiful to watch. But Nikitha, after all change is inevitable.
Cricket extracts more of King Khan's Charm
It's slowly being realized that the strong roots of the reality shows that went deeper and deeper invading the minds of the Indian television viewers till some months back have started to decay. The success rate of the different reality shows was enormously depended on the Bollywood star power to add glamour and attract viewers and is still the same. True emotional attachments to television programes is a thing of past when television was just meant for watching Doordarshan. With a wide menu of programes to choose, the impact of a single episode of a game show or quiz show is enough to divert a viewer's allegiance to a new show. The culprit in the present situation is not any other reality show or quiz show but is the regaining king of sports in India, Cricket which has now become more than just the gentleman's game. The coming of the Indian Premier League, the reinvented cricket in a capsule is playing havoc in the minds of the channel heads. Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan was there cheering his team for almost all the matches of his team Kolkata Knight Riders, so were the other stars for some of the other teams. Well there is no need to say that people who come to see the matches of Knight Riders also expects Shah Rukh to be in the stadium each time his team plays. His presence not only encouraged his team, but in a way turned out to be a reason for a large number of people turning up to the venue. But the King Khan magic is not working in helping the much hyped show on Starplus to gain foothold. The old saying of 'when you gain something, you loose something else' can best define what is happening to the 'Kya aap Paanchvi Pas se thez hain' hosted by the Badshan of Bollywood himself. King Khan gained a new status of a team owner, a new business venture and new share of experiences. Then who is loosing? The new show of Shah Rukh was expected to surpass the triumph of his previous show. But the numbers say a different story. According to the media planners the opening ratings of the show is far less than what was expected and is not moving upwards from 3 and 4 points. The points are flying towards the IPL's side which got 8 points in the opening match itself. Did the B-Town megastar Amitabh Bachchan predict the outcome of the popularity of the show before itself when he was offered to be the host of Shah Rukh's Panchvi Pass?

Sushmita Sen and the former player Wasim Akram are the judges of the show which will start its innings on September 26. Speaking on her experience on the show, Sushmita Sen said "A channel that dares to think out of the box and does so making it a whole lot of fun is a rarity. I hope COLORS continues to paint its viewers lives with all its shows. To witness my cricketing heroes attempt something that is not their forte at all, with as much zeal and heartfelt enthusisium as they did was overwhelming and great fun, making it such a pleasure to judge the show. To sum it up, I would say what I have often said on the show '. Masha Allah" An exited Wasim Akram on his role as a jury member said, " Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena as a show is something very different and such a show can never happen again on television as they have managed to get present day cricketers whose top most passion is cricket and COLORS has got them to participate in this show. It was an incredible experience and I enjoyed every moment of it. The cricketers along with Ms Sen add to the uniqueness of the show" Every Friday and Saturday at 9.p.m the couples will fight it out to emerge as the winner.
