CRIMINAL CASE AGAINST FILM ACTRESS!

A criminal case has been filed against Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez and the producer of her upcoming movie Dishoom, Sajid Nadiadwala and director Rohit Dhawan for insulting Sikh religion in one of the songs in the film. The actor is seen dancing wearing a Kirpan -a Sikh ceremonial dagger - in the film song which has irked the Sikh clergy, according to a report in India Today. The complainant Ravinder Singh Bassi in his complaint to the court has also made Sector 34 SHO and SSP Chandigarh as co-accused. The court has fixed July 1 for hearing and has asked the complainant, an advocate, to produce primary witnesses in the court. According to reports, earlier on June 15 Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) in a letter written to Chairperson of Central Board of Film Certification Pehlaj Nihlani had asked him to get the controversial song removed from the film as it was desecretion of Sikh symbol. DSGMC letter says the 'act' is hurting sentiments of Sikhs who have sent a number of complaints to the committee. Sirsa said that he has requested CBFC to instruct director Rohit Dhawan to immediately remove all the trailers/videos of the aforesaid song uploaded at YouTube or other websites.

Plea Filed In Court Seeking Criminal Charges Against Ramdev

A petition has been filed against yoga guru Ramdev in a local court, seeking registration of a criminal case against him for his alleged statement over organising a revolt against the government on the lines of Libya and Syria. Additional Civil Judge Bhagirathi Varma, while admitting the petition on Tuesday filed by social worker Mohammad Ali, scheduled the matter for hearing on November 21. In his complaint, Ali charged Ramdev with conspiring a bloody revolt against the government on the lines of Syria and Libya. “Ramdev is trying to mobilise the public for a revolt on the lines of Libya and Syria where bloody revolt took place and many died. He is insisting the members of public to come out for such revolts to end the corruption, this is no way to end the corruption by creating war and bloody revolt against the elected government,” Ali said. Ali claimed he had filed the petition after reading media reports on Ramdev’s alleged statement in a public meeting in Varanasi on November 13.

Deadly Texas Fertiliser Blast Was 'Criminal'

More than 400 people have been interviewed by investigators, but no arrests have been made three years after the explosion. An explosion that killed 15 people and injured hundreds of others three years ago at a Texas fertiliser plant was caused by arson, officials have said. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said the fire was "incendiary" and "intentionally set", as they announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. The 17 April 2013 blaze caused ammonium nitrate to ignite, triggering an explosion that flattened part of the town of West, about 75 miles south of Dallas. Investigators said they had ruled out the possibility the blaze was sparked by a short circuit in a golf cart stored at the West Fertilizer Co facility. During the $2m inquiry, the fire was reenacted at a Maryland research laboratory. ATF special agent in charge Rob Elder told a news conference investigators had conducted more than 400 interviews. Twelve emergency personnel were among those killed in the disaster. Kelly Pustejovsky, the widow of one of the killed firefighters, said: "I pray to God that they get caught and get the death penalty. "No life deserves to be lost due to someone's stupidity." Investigators concluded that if the 7.30pm blast had happened earlier in the day hundreds more people would probably have been killed or injured. Some 500 homes, schools, apartments and a care home were destroyed in an area spanning 37 blocks. The US Chemical Safety Board and the state fire marshal's office have previously issued reports highlighting safety lapses at the plant. Regulators said fertiliser storage - with combustible materials nearby - coupled with a lack of ventilation were contributing factors in the blast. The explosion caused about $100m in damage, with another $230m in insurance-related losses. But the plant reportedly only carried a $1m liability insurance policy.

Islamist charged in destruction of Timbuktu mausoleums sent to International Criminal Court

THE HAGUE, Netherlands – An alleged Islamic extremist charged with involvement in the destruction of religious buildings in the historic city of Timbuktu in Mali in 2012 has been arrested and sent to the International Criminal Court to face justice. Ahmad Al Mahdi Al Faqi, known as Abu Tourab, is the first suspect in the court's custody charged with the war crime of destroying religious or historical monuments. The court announced in the early hours of Saturday that Al Faqi was surrendered to the court by Niger and transferred to The Hague. The court says he was a member of Ansar Dine, an Islamic extremist group with links to al-Qaida that ruled across northern Mali in 2012. He is charged in the destruction of 10 historic buildings including mausoleums and a mosque in Timbuktu.
