The 27-year-old, who was seen playing a simple girl in the recently released "Ramaiya Vastavaiya", is glad that she is part of the movie, which is helmed by Nikhil Advani. "When I was approached for this film, I couln't say no to it. It's the most challenging role so far. I am glad I am part of this film," Shruti said. Shruti, who made her Bollywood debut with 2009 movie "Luck", will be seen opposite actor Arjun Rampal. She insists that her role in the movie is not bold. D-Day' not an underworld saga: Nikhil Advani

D-Day" director Nikhil Advani asserts that his film is not a regular underworld or 'bhaigiri' film, but a serious espionage thriller based on the country's intelligence agency RAW and its operations. Actors Arjun Rampal, Irrfan and Huma Qureshi are playing RAW agents in the film. "There is no connection to the underworld. It is about terrorism, it is about bringing back India's most wanted man. It is an espionage thriller. All three of them and Aakash Dahiya, they are spies, they are RAW agents," said the director here at the music launch of the film Sunday. "There is no 'bhaigiri' in the film. It is about India, it is about four patriots," he added. The film is slated for a July 19 release and it stars Rishi Kapoor in the role of an antagonist. Shruti Haasan too features in it.

Deepa Mehta thinks on comic lines

Deepa Mehta has seen a lot of water flow through her life. She wished to take a comic breather between two serious films. She wished to make a comedy film. The lead actress may have been Kareena Kapoor. The film was about two Kushti groups and the rivalry between them. This rivalry is turned into friendship because of this girl Kalyani. Previously Deepa had made a comedy Hollywood Bollywood. This comedy is a breather between Water and Komagata Maru both of which are serious films requiring lot of hard work and emotions. She is waiting for Amitabh Bachchan to read the script and give her the dates for the shoot. Between this she will do a start to finish comedy about a Canadian couple. The film will be whacky and hilarious. Though she has decided on the script and the actors in the film, there is nothing that she reveals about the film.

DON team comes together on the small screen

Much before Farhan Akhtar's 'Don' hits the screen, the star cast of the film have decided to keep their fans happy by making a small screen appearance at the least. Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor, all the three have now faced the camera and have made a way into your living rooms. Yes, you read it right as the three stars have shot for the latest Pepsi commercial where SRK plays a common man looking forward to installation of PEPSI TV at his home while both the pretty ladies play PEPSI representatives. Colorful and breezy, just like most of Pepsi commercials [with SRK's 'sapera' act being an exception], it features SRK as a perky youngster, Priyanka as a sweet'n'nice girl while Kareena appearing as a hotty with an attitude. A good impression with the very first strike from the team of DON!
