Challenging Star Darshan's much awaited movie, Jaggu Dada's release date has been confirmed. The movie is releasing worldwide on June 10. It is expected to release in around 300 theaters. The count may increase by Thursday(June 9) evening as there is craze around the project. The movie is directed by Mumbai based Raghavendra Hegde. Raghavendra Hegde, apart from directing and producing, has written the script for the movie for which screenplay has been done by the Bollywood writer Yunus Sajawal of Dilwale and Chennai Express fame. This involvement of Bollywood writer has raised expectations as the screenplay would be racy and will provide entertainment. Deeksha Seth, who has made a mark in Tollywood and Bollywood, makes her debut to Sandalwood through this big budget movie. Ravishankar, Srujan Lokesh, Sadhu Kokila and others are playing the important roles. Rachitha Ram and Pranitha Subhash, who were introduced through Darshan's movies are playing cameos in the movie which is very important as per the team. V. Harikrishna is the music director and fans have already given thumbs up for the music. V. Nagendra Prasad, Yograj Bhat, Kaviraj and Bahaddur Chetan Kumar have penned lyrics for the songs sung by Sonu Nigam, Tippu, Hemanth Kumar, Ranjith, Santosh Venky, Shashank Sheshagiri and Priya Himesh. The movie is yet to be censored as Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has not yet cleared the movie as there is use of pigeons in the climax. A decision will be taken by Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) in the next meet tomorrow (June 7). Let's hope a positive result comes out of the meet and there will be no stopping us in witnessing the magic of Challenging Star on the silver screen this Friday(June 10).
Jaggu Dada Is Off To A Great Start
Challenging Star Darshan's Jaggu Dada has released in 300 odd theaters and as one expects, movie is off to a fantastic start clocking housefulls all over the state. Response is same in A, B and C centres. Social media is ecstatic about the movie as well, and looking at the reviews on Twitter, one can understand that this time Challenging Star, who is known for mass entertainers has opted for a family entertainer hoping for a blockbuster like Gaja. The movie had early morning shows in mass centers like Davangere, where the first show was at 3 AM whereas shows started at 5 AM in Shimoga. Bangalore fans welcomed Jaggu Dada in early morning shows at around 7 AM in theaters like Venkateshwara, Avalahalli. Producers R9 Entertainment released the movie throughout the state with the help of local distributors. In the BKT region, it was released by Nandini Entertainment which has distributed a few Hindi movies in the past. In the MMCH region, the movie is released by a consortium of distributors through Srinivas Groups. Online bookings are good at the moment for Darshan. With reviews suggesting that movie is a family entertainer, family audiences would embrace Jaggu Dada if they like the content. Already fans are elated with the content, if the neutral audience like the movie as well, there will be no stopping the movie. Darshan who has not tasted success for a while would be more than happy if this movie hits the right chord with the audience. Let's hope Darshan gets that most awaited success with this movie.
Dada Saheb Phalke Award for Tapan Sinha
Tapan Sinha, one of the most accomplished film makers of India and winner of 19 National Film Awards has been selected for the Dada Sahed Phalke Award for the year 2006. Known for making films that are very true to real life and which portrays the genuine problems and harsh difficulties of the common man, the veteran film maker was chosen for the award in recognition for his long period of contribution to Indian cinema. The movie maker born on October 2, 1924 was decided as the most deserving person to get the award by stalwarts of films and art like A.Nagshwar Rao, Sharmila Tagore, Shyam benegal, Gautham Ghosh and the legendry flute player Hari Prasad Chaurasia. Tapan Sinha's interest in films started when he was doing his Masters in Physics at the Calcutta University during 1943-46. This new love for cinema was due to watching the films of masters like John Ford, Billy Wilder, Carol Reed and Frank Capra. The addictiveness for movies led him to take up a job as trainee sound engineer in New Theatres Studios in Calcutta in 1946. After working there for some time, he shifted to Calcutta Movietone Sturios. In 1950, he got a chance to work at the Pinewood Studios in London. He immediately went to London and began to work with director Charles Creighton. The period of two years that Tapan Sinha lived and worked in London made him more determined to come back to India and try his hand in directing films. After returning from Britain in the 1950's to India, Tapan Sinha decided to concentrate only in making movies. The veteran made his debut with the film 'Ankush' in 1954. Although this movie which was based on a novel called "Sainik" by Narayan Ganguly turned out to be a flop, it gave him a chance to get started and make his next film called as 'Upahar' in 1955. The film 'Kabuliwala' which was based on a novel having the same name written by Rabindranath Tagore came out in 1956. This film is still considered as one of his best works and also as one that established him as a talented film maker to watch out for. 'Kabuliwala' was screened at the Berlin Film Festival of 1957 and bagged an award for its music score. He went on to make two more movies called 'Khudito Pashan' and 'Athithi' based on Rabindranath Tagore's works. Tapan Sinha is also known as an expert and perfectionist in adapting classic literature into top class movies. Some of the other famous Bengali writers whose works this film maker has transformed into films are Samaresh Bose, Banaphool, Jarasandha, and Tarashankar Bandopadhyaya. The famous Hindi film 'Bawarchi' directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee in 1972 was a remake of 'Galpo Holeo Satyi' which is the film that was made by Tapan Sinha in 1966 and one which showed his mastery on making a comic fantasy. The film 'Ek Doctor Ki Maut' having Pankaj Kapoor and Shabana Azmi in the lead roles came out in 1991. It won the National Award for the second best feature film and gave its maker the best director award too. He followed up with the movie 'Wheel Chair' in 1994. The year 2001 saw the coming out of one of the most ambitious projects of the veteran in the form of a six part film based on the stories of famous writers like Rabindranath Tagore, Gourkishor Ghosh, Prafulla Roy, Sarat Chandra Shattopadhyaya and Dibyendu Palit. The movie titled as 'Shtabdir Kanya' which means Daughters of this century was a work that showcased the exploitation, abuse, and neglect Indian women have faced all along the 20th century. Tapan Sinha's films have won several awards in International film festivals of London, Berlin, Seoul, Venice, San Francisco, Locarno, Cork film festival in Ireland among other highly prestigious festivals across the world. Dhada Trailer Audio Tracks Brought from US
For all those who were impressed on seeing the Dhada movie trailer, here's a small input. It seems that the audio tracks used in both the Dhada movie trailers were specially bought from the US it seems. Sources say that Naga Chaitanya starrer Dhada audio tracks were brought online from a US based website only for the trailers. Sources further add that these audio tracks in the trailers have nothing to do with the movie, which has a different audio track. Now that's interesting because generally, everyone uses a common audio sync in the trailers so that the audience can quickly and better connect with the movie. Dhada audio release date is July 25 and arrangements are taking place for the all the CD's to hit the music stores in time. Dhada audio launch venue is yet to be announced but it's presumed that music launch function would take place at Shilpa Ramam. Dhada movie release date is already announced – August 12.
Dhada Audio Release Live on MAA Movies
Dhada audio release will take place at Shilpa Kala Vedika today evening from 7 PM and MAA Movies, Maa Music and TV9 will air the Dhada audio songs launch function live. All arrangements for this Dhada music launch are almost completed. Sources say that Naga Chaitanya will be seen in a completely new avatar in this movie, which is tipped to be an action love entertainer. Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and several others are expected to attend Dhada songs launch function. Aditya Music will be releasing the audio and promotions would be geared up in this month via TV commercials, interviews, etc.
Dhada Censor Report Today
Naga Chaitanya and Kajal Agarwal starrer Dhada movie's censor would be done today. In fact, Dhada might be censored either on August 5 if not (due to Telangana Bandh) censor would be done the next day, but in any case the movie will complete censor formalities by this weekend. It will be interesting to see Dhada censor report since Naga Chaitanya's previous movies have got U and U/A certificate. Ajay Bhuyan has directed this movie, which is produced by Viswa Chandan Reddy. Currently the post production wokrs of the movie are in full swing and the movie is geared for August 11.
