Shooting for Yograj Bhat's latest film Dana Kayonu starring Duniya Vijay and Priyamani starts from July 20. The film may even be delayed by two more days and start on July 22 sources said. The muharat for the film was held last month and there was a special photo and trailer shoot for the film recently. The shooting for the film is scheduled in Gangavathi, Chitradurga and Kanakapura. The teaser of the film has garnered much interest as Vijay plays an earthy character. Even the title has surprised everyone and made people wonder how a star like Vijay accepted to be called a 'Dana Kayonu' (cowherd).
Yogaraj Bhatt's Dana Kayonu Launched
Yogaraj Bhatt's new film 'Dana Kayonu' starring 'Duniya' Vijay in lead role was launched at the Muneshwara temple in Rajajinagar on Tuesday morning. Shivarajakumar and Ravichandran came in as the chief guests and while Shivarajakumar switched on the camera, Ravichandran sounded the clap for the first shot. 'Dana Kayonu' is being produced by Kanakapura Srinivas and Srikanth under the R S Productions banner. Yogaraj bHatt himself has written the story, screenplay and dialogues apart from directing the film. Sugnan is the cameraman, while V Harikrishna is the music director. Meanwhile, Priyamani has been selected to play the female lead in the film. Other artistes and technicians are yet to be announced.
Title Issues Resolved For Dana Kaayonu
As per the latest reports coming out, title issues of Yogaraj Bhat's Dana Kaayonu was resolved by the office bearers of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, yesterday(June 2). With this being solved amicably, there should be no issues for the movie release. Duniya Vijay and Priyamani starrer movie which was launched a year ago, has completed the shooting. The audio was recently released by actress Rachitha Ram at a grand event held at producer R Srinivas's hometown Kanakapura. V Harikrishna has composed the music and Sugnan is the cinematographer. Songs are already hit amongst masses and the song sung by Hero Sharan is topping the charts. Apart from Duniya Vijay and Priyamani, Rangayana Raghu and Suchendra Prasad has played important roles in the movie. Also, Yogaraj Bhat had released a song sung by Duniya Vijay and Chethan regarding the issues surrounding PUC Exam paper leak and song was appreciated by a few sections whereas a few organizations lodged a police complaint as they were not happy with the lyrics of the song. The post production work of the movie is almost complete and movie is gearing up for release in the month of June. This will be the first release for actress Priyamani after getting engaged with her friend Mustafa Raj. Apart from this movie, Priyamani's another flick, Upendra starrer Kalpana 2, is gearing up for July release. It's been almost a year since Vijay's last RX Soori hit the screens, so fans are eagerly waiting to see their favourite star on the silver screen after a year. Duniya Vijay is currently shooting for Nagshekar's most expected Maasthigudi with Krithi Kharbanda and Amulya.

'Dana Veera Sura Karna' released in the US
One of the best classics of Telugu cinema 'Dana Veera Sura Karna' directed and produced by the late NT Rama Rao besides playing three different characters such as Krishna, Duryodhana and the title role Karna had earned a greate name that it is a never before and never after film on Telugu screen. The film was released in San Jose (Los Angeles) in California on May 28. The film had a great response even after three decades. Despite some technical lapses, the film is most welcome by the Telugus, not only in India but everywhere in the world. The main reason behind this is the great personification of Duryodhana character and the performance of the thespian in all the three roles as an artiste, and his directorial abilities as a director and production values as a producer. The film is now being released by Sampat Pathuri and Ramakrishna Nrisimhadri on the banner of NRI Films (Detroit) in the US. At the same time, the film is being released in California under the leadership of Jayaram Komati, president of TANA. Sampath and Ramakrishna say, 'We had purchased the rights to release the film in the US for Rs 5 lakhs. For the first time in the history of Telugu cinema, an old film is being released in foreign theatres again. Likewise, Dana Veera Sura Karna created a record by getting released again after three decades of its release. Already the DVD was released in the US. Despite that the film is being screened successfully on American Screen.' It is quite surprising that the VCDs of our top heroes and their super hit films were being sold at Rs 75. However, the price of this film, which was released three decades ago, is being sold at Rs 125, which proves the greatness and speciality of this mythological movie.
