It is all happening on the Kamal front. There have been too many reports, most of them unconfirmed, about his Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Most of the news centres around the clash between the producers Khaja Mohideen and Manickam Narayanan. After lying low for many months, Khaja has sprung into the scene, making a claim that it was his film. In between, there are also reports that the film has been censored. But nobody is ready to talk on record over the same. Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is all ready to begin his Dasavatharam, the movie that will feature him ten different roles. The big news on that is that Asin is said to have walked away with the role of his heroine in the film. Now this is a major achievement from Asin. For, she seems to have pulled the rug from under the feet of Trisha, Vidya Balan and Shriya. Way to go, Asin. Dasavatharam is to be directed by K S Ravikumar, dialogues are by Crazy Mohan, and music is to be from a group of musicians including Himesh Reshammiya and Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy.
Dasavatharam - Back in the hunt
With reports of his Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu clearing all hurdles, Kamal Haasan is gearing up to commence his much awaited Dasavatharam soon. Sources close to the actor say, the movie would hit the floors on 18 August at a temple town near Tiruchy (Darasuram). The movie which features Kamal Haasan in ten different roles including that of a old woman is being directed by KS Ravi Kumar with dialogues by Crazy Mohan. It may be recalled that Asin has been assigned to play the heroine. Sources say now Bollywood sex icon Mallika Sherawat has also been roped in the movie for a hefty fee. Post Myth opposite Jackie Chan, Mallika has emerged a sought-after heroine in India. Bollywood's popular music director Himesh Reshammiya is scoring music. With the coming together of who's who in the Indian film industry, Dasavatharam has everything in it to become a blockbuster.
Dasavatharam shoot from August 18
Shooting of the much-awaited film of Kamal Haasan 'Dasavatharam' would begin on August 18. The prestigious film in which Kamal is going to play 10 different characters is being directed by K.S. Ravikumar to be produced by V Ravichandran on the banner of Oscar Films Pvt Ltd. Besides Asin, Mallika Sherawat, three top heroines are expected to play opposite Kamal. The budget estimated for a song in it projected at Rs 3 crore, which hints the massive budget with which the film is being produced. These songs would be picturised with over 5,000 artistes in the backdrop of huge sets. The film is most likely to hit the screen in the next summer. It is said that the film would remain as a heavy budget film not only in the career of Kamal Haasan but also will remain as a memorable film for producer Ravichandran.
Dasavatharam - Smart pair again
Kamal Haasan and Jayapradha were hailed as a great pair in Kollywood in 1980s. Some of the movies like Ninaithalae Inikkum and Salangai Oli, which featured both together, are still watched with great admiration by film-buffs. After almost a couple of decades, the two are coming together for Dasavatharam. Jayapradha, who is currently a busy politician, has given up all her busy political schedule, to be part of the movie. However details about the role to be played by Jayapradha have been guarded as a close secret. Meanwhile, a few scenes involving Mallika Sherawat and Nepolean were shot recently for Dasavatharam. Taking part in a film function recently, Kamal Haasan expressed his admiration for Jayapradha's acting skills. Jayapradha, who was present on the occasion, complimented Kamal Haasan for his commitment and dedication to the profession. The two coming together has generated a lot of interest in film circle. Meanwhile, Jayapradha who met Chief Minister M Karunanidhi recently has expressed her desire to act in the role of Kannagi.
Dasavatharam team in US
The US and the rest of the world maybe thinking that one George Bush is too many. But over the next few days, the US may get to have one more George Bush. No, this is not out of any cloning technology. This maybe more due to the fact that Dasavatharam team is now in the US. You may ask what is the connection. Well, according to the grapevine, Kamal Haasan, who is playing ten different roles in the movie, has chosen George Bush to be one among them. Kamal as George Bush? Hmmm...very interesting. But the surprise doesn't stop there. There maybe an Osama also in the script. Played by whom? Well, who else Kamal himself. Apart from these sequences, the Dasavatharam team will also shoot a song in the US involving Kamal and Asin. The Dasavatharam team left for the US from Chennai yesterday. Apart from shooting there, Kamal also hopes to spend some time with his first daughter Shruthi who is studying there. Kamal is now expected back in Chennai only towards the end of December.
Dasavatharam team takes off
Kamal Haasan took off to USA on Sunday for the shooting of Dasavatharam. He would be there till 20th December for the movie's shooting. The rest of the crew left on Tuesday to join Kamal Haasan in America. Produced by Oscar Ravichandran, Dasavatharam features Kamal Haasan in ten different roles. A few portions of the film were shot in Chennai. In the next 30 days, director K S Ravikumar has planned to shoot a major portion of the movie in USA. They would be shooting at New York, Chicago, New Jersey and other places. Kamal Haasan's last Vettaiyadu Vilayaadu was also shot at USA. Looks like USA is becoming a favourite destination for Kamal Haasan.
