Veteran actor Arvind Swamy, who made his Bollywood debut with Mani Ratnam's 1992 film "Roja", is returning to the Hindi film after gap of 24 years. He will appear in upcoming film "Dear Dad". The film trailer was released today and offers a new and refreshing look. The film features Arvind as a 45-year-old dad and Himanshu Sharma as his 14-year-old son. The film story deals with father-son bonding. It is a coming of age story mixed with the confessions of a father. The trailer hints at a strained relationship between the two due to, perhaps, some sort of transgression committed by the father, which he is shown attempting to rectify. The father-son duo embarks on a road trip from their home, in Delhi, to Mussorie where Shivam attends boarding school. Unexpected confessions, weird strangers, accidental meetings all these add up to a complicated and sweet tale.The film, directed by first-timer Tanuj Bhramar, is slated to release in theatres on May 6.

Dear Zindagi to have series of teasers instead of trailer
Alia Bhatt-starrer 'Dear Zindagi' seems to be taking a rather unconventional approach to film publicity, scrapping the concept of a trailer altogether in favour of smaller teaser videos. The film's director Gauri Shinde reportedly told media that they have decided not to take the conventional route for the movie's publicity and dropped the idea of having a trailer. Instead, the makers will now release a series of small videos titled 'Dear Zindagi Take 1', Take 2, and so on. The director said that the reason behind this innovative approach was to build the viewer interest gradually by inviting them bit by bit into the film. The first of these teaser videos will be released later today.

Gauri Shinde's second outing as a feature film director, Dear Zindagi is off to a very good start. This film which stars Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan in the lead roles has got some good reviews from the critics. Dear Zindagi was released yesterday (25/11) in around 1200 screens in India. Thanks to the star power of Shahrukh Khan. Apparently, the film has netted around 8.8 crores in India alone from its opening day. So the start is good. Now let’s see how it performs in the coming days.
