"Devadasu" is 100 Days old

Y.V.S. Chowdary's film "Devadasu" has successfully completed 100 days. On this occasion a press conference was organized and Y.V.S. Chowdhary, the Producer and Director of the film spoke about the film. "I am very happy that this film besides tough competition from many big films has completed 100 days. This is a very risky project having no star cast and totally dependent on the story line-up and songs. I believe that the story, music and other technical aspects are the foundation for a film and audience have proved this once again. Initially, the film got good response but subsequently due to release of some good films, collections have come down. As it got all the essentials of a good film, it stood stubborn and completed 100 days. I thank the audience for their belief that my films will be entertaining and that is the main reason for this success. We are planning to organize the centenary celebrations in a big way as it is like a festival to the unit members."

Devadasu - Time to celebrate

It will be a hectic day for Y V S Chowdary. The successful maker of Devadasu will celebrate the completion of 175 days of the film at the famous Odeon Theatre in Hyderabad tomorrow. The success of Devadasu is a vindication of YVS's faith in the project. Apart from directing and producing it, he in fact released the audio in his own company floated for the purpose. The film has now completed the silver jubilee in 17 centres. Dr Dasari Narayana Rao, Venkatesh, Jayapradha cast and crew of the film will attend the celebrations tomorrow.

'Devarakonda Veeraiah' in first week of November

R Narayana Murthy is a film maker who makes it a point to take current political issues and social problems as the main theme for his films, which make the viewers to ponder over the subjects. His latest venture is based on the assaults on women in our society. The film titled as 'Devarakonda Veeraiah' is produced on Sneha Chitra Pictures banner. The movie presently under post-production work is going to be released in the first week of November. Speaking on this occasion director R.Narayana Murthy announced that the post productions work is in progress. The audio will be released in the upcoming week, and the film is scheduled for release in early November. He added that in the present society, parents have more hope on their girl child. With this as the backdrop, the story of the film is woven around, a father who lays many hopes on his child, and one day he finds that his daughter has committed suicide. What are the consequences of it, how did he deal with the people who caused it carries the movie forward to the end. Since quite a few years, the assaults on women have increased, we know that Ayesha's case is still pending, and the government could not find the solution to the mystery. We have taken up such incidents in this film. If not all, movies made with such themes will linger in the minds of the audiences thus evoking thoughts to make a better future.

'Devarakonda Veeraiah' audio released

The film maker who chooses social problems faced by the civilians as his theme to make movies is R Narayana Murthy. Taking the recent brutal incidents, the murders of young girls, as the backdrop he is making the film 'Devarakonda Veeraiah'. The audio of this film is released on 21st of this month at Prasad's Preview Theatre, Hyderabad. The President of State Nayee Brahmins Association, Mr. Devarakonda Nagaraju released the audio. Speaking on this occasion the move maker R Narayana Murthy said, "Parents of recent times have high hopes on their children be it a boy or a girl. Assume, if the girl is murdered brutally, how those parents would feel and respond to the tragedy. The story of this film is of a father who looses his daughter in a tragic occurrence. What this father, who had lots of hopes on his child, does for his daughter forms the story line of 'Devarakonda Veeraiah'." Lyricist Vangapandu Prasad Rao said, 'It is a song that has brought me close to Narayana Murthy. It's been 20 years of our friendship. My songs which are presented in local villages on streets, is taken on to the screen for a wide group of audience by Narayana Murthy. I wish this film, which is made for the people, will turn out successful.' Suddala Ashok Teja, JayaRaju, Daivagna Sharma, 'VandeMatharam' Srinivas, Aditya Dayanand and other prominent people were present on the occasion.

Devayani plays Mohanlal's wife in 'Janatha Garage'

Tamil actress Devayani, who was last seen in Telugu cinema over a decade ago, is reportedly making a comeback as Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's wife in the upcoming Telugu family drama "Janatha Garage". "Devayani has been roped in to essay a very important role. She will be seen as Mohanlal's wife," a source from the film's unit told. Devayani, who was last seen in 2003 Telugu film "Nani", is expected to join the sets from the third week of this month. The film, which will be directed by Koratala Siva, stars Junior NTR and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film will have music by Devi Sri Prasad.

Brahmanandam gets a pat from Devanand

Popular comedian Brahmanandam is a fan of Ever Green Glamour Hero of Bollywood Devanand, right from his childhood. He is crazy about his favourite hero. Though the latter is 85-year-old by now, he continues to inspire the present day youth with his impeccable style. During the recent birthday celebrations of popular producer, industrialist, philanthropist and Rajya Sabha member and Union minister T Subbaramireddy, Brahmanandam had got an opportunity to share the dais with his favourite hero, where Devanand was the chief guest. Brahmanandam felt thrilled at the cherished moment. During the meeting, several speakers spoke at length about Subbarami Reddy and Devanand. Brahmanandam says, 'When my turn came, I also addressed the meeting. While returning, Devanand called me and asked me to sit by his side. He patted on my back and complimented, 'Your speech is mind-blowing'. Later, he said, 'I used to watch your performance in comedy scenes in films and enjoy a lot. Your comedy works like a tonic for everyone. Now I came to know that there is also a good orator in you.' I am very much excited at the compliments showered on me by my favourite artiste. It would definitely remain as one of the best compliments ever I had in my career and in my lifetime.'
