Director Dharani is optimistic that his recent release Bangaram would become a blockbuster. The movie produced by A M Rathnam for Sri Surya Movies features Pawan Kalyan in the lead role . The movie released last week received lukewarm response at the box office. Dharani says, 'Initially there was some problem with the length of the movie. Now we have trimmed first twenty minutes of the movie. Now the movie is more engrossing and is appreciated by fans of Pawan Kalyan. Bangaram would surely make it big.' He also dismissed rumors that Vijay has changed his plans with regard to doing the remake of Bangaram in Tamil. No decision has been taken on that front.
Dharani-Ajith together?
Rumors are abuzz that director Dharani might direct Ajith this year. After Ajith declined to be part of director Bala's Naan Kadavul, expectations were high on his next film. Buzz was that he would be doing a film for Suresh Balaji Productions. Meanwhile sources close to Ajith said, 'the actor has apparently agreed to be part of a film to be directed by Dharani. The movie may hit the floors this year-end'. After a dismal show in his recent Telugu venture Bangaram, Dharani has been eyeing to make it big in Kollywood. Meanwhile Ajith is keen on continuing his good run in Kollywood following the success in Paramasivan and Thirupathy. The two have principally agreed to come together. Dharani's last venture in Tamil was Ghilli. After almost a couple of years, the director would be back in Kollywood to try his luck.
Dharani speaks on 'Kuruvi'
Director Dharani is busy directing Vijay, Trisha for 'Kuruvi' now. Produced by Udhayanidhi, grandson of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, 'Kuruvi' brings together the 'Ghilli' team. Asked why a big gap in Tamil, Dharani says, "I had a Telugu film commitment. I believe in commitments. In January 2004, I did Pooja for a film, but we were able to start only in June 2005." Asked about 'Kuruvi', Dharani, says, "We wanted a catchy title. Hence we opted for 'Kuruvi'. I just liked the word. It has an awesome tag-line "Where eagles dare. So go figure" '.
Dharani denies rumors
Rumors were agog that director Dharani, after 'Kuruvi', would do a movie with Bharath. It was also reported that Nayantara might team up with Bharath. However Dharani is quick to deny them as rumors. 'I have not completed the story or script for my next'. 'I am still to come out of 'Kuruvi'. The movie is doing well at the box office and the audience are appreciating it'. 'I first have to complete the script and then think about the star cast', he said.
Success brings them together - Dharani
Director Dharani, who has been in the hiding for the last couple of years, is all set to bounce back. Touted the successful director in Tamil cinema for back-to-back hits in Dhil, Dhool and Ghilli, Dharani is expected to wield the megaphone for the movie starring Vijay and Trisha again. The trio had been party of Ghilli before. The movie would be produced by Karunanidhi's grandson Udhayanidhi and would go to floors once Vijay completes his Azhagiya Thamizh Magan. Sources close to Dharani say, 'The movie would be a racy commercial entertainer, quite typical to Ghilli.'
Aari’s new flick titled ‘Dharani’!
The young actor Aari who made his debut with Shankar’s latest production venture ‘Rettaisuzhi’, is gearing up to start his new flick titled ‘Dharani’. It is directed by Guhan. Along with Aari the movie will have two other heroes but Aari will get major role of those. Sources say that Aari is working very hard to get the physical fitness of his body that suits for the story line of the film. After completing Dharani, the actor has two more new projects in his hand. He is holding discussions with ace director KS Ravi Kumar’s assistant and P Vasu’s associate for his next projects.
