Dhoni watches John go intense
Mahendra Singh Dhoni and John Abraham share more than their hairstyles and hairstylist. John has expressed earlier stating, "Dhoni is my favourite cricketer". We are not sure if Johnny boy is Dhoni's favourite actor but the T20 captain dropped in on the sets of Nagesh Kukunoor's 'Aashayein' which stars John in the lead. The film produced by Percept Picture Company was being shot at DN Nagar, Andheri. Dhoni dropped in to meet John and stayed to watch the shooting. They discussed everything from films to crickets to bikes on the set. The atmosphere became really lively after Dhoni arrived. He even stayed back and watched John do some intense scenes.
Dhoni and SRK feel the chemistry
The ad industry will be seen at its snazziest best in the coming days. King Khan and the Swashbuckling Dhoni are coming together for the first time in a commercial for consumer durables giant Videocon. Videocon has presented both the popular youth icons new avatars. With SRK turning out in Indian colours and Dhoni lighting up the set in a glittering gold costume, the roles of both the superstars were reversed. The theme flows with an interesting plot where both the stars play the role of Bhai-Bhai in the film. Describing the strategy at Videocon Industries, Mr. Jyoti Shekhar, VP Marketing says, "Videocon has created magic by bring both the super stars together on a single platform to create a unique campaign. The core idea of the campaign is to celebrate the spirit of success ' no matter the role life gives you, always play it big and emerge as a champion." Videocon has strategically managed both the brand ambassadors to ensure brand connect with the younger audience with the help of this new commercial. Apparently, Shahrukh and Dhoni's chemistry was very visible on the sets and they enjoyed a lot by changing their real life roles. Conceptualized by Ogilvy and Mather, Videocon's brand communication partner the film is scheduled to air in the last week of November.
'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' trailer: Dhoni's journey from obscurity to cricket star
The makers of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story have been feeding fans little glimpses of the film — we’ve had two posters released so far, both of which showed Sushant Singh Rajput portraying Dhoni’s early look, from the time he worked as a ticket collector. We begin by seeing Sushant as Dhoni, dressed in his uniform — navy blue blazer, maroon tie — walking through a crowded railway station. A snippet of dialogue that plays as a voice over gives us some context: “Mahendra Singh Dhoni, ticket collector, South Eastern Railway, reporting for duty sir,” says Sushant’s voice. Another voice — that of his supervisor’s — asks if this is his first day at work, and when Dhoni confirms that it is, rattles of a string of instructions about which platforms he’s expected to go to and at what time, which trains are due to arrive there, and who he should meet to collect the passengers’ lists. Even as those instructions fade out, we hear another set of voices — and this time they are raised not to instruct but to revere, a chorus of fans chanting “Dhoni, Dhoni, Dhoni”. As the chants build to a crescendo, we see Dhoni sitting on a platform, sporting the longer hair that would become his trademark hairdo when he first became a breakout star on the Indian cricket scene. A commentator’s voice then says, “India lift the World Cup after 20 years. And it’s an Indian captain who has been absolutely magnificent in the night of the final.” The teaser makes it clear that the film will chart Dhoni’s journey from obscurity to international sports superstardom, and his leading of India to its World Cup win. But will it really tell, as its tagline promises, Dhoni’s “untold story”? For that, we’ll have to wait and watch. MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is directed by Neeraj Pandey and will release on 2 September 2016.
