"Do you think there is anything funnier than the media?" - Ramu
Yet another volley of questions. Yet another round of witty replies from Ramu. Read on: 1. This excuse of making films only to enjoy the process sounds irresponsible. Ans: You got me wrong. I am not making an excuse, I am saying that it is the only choice any filmmaker has whether he realizes it or not. Every one of the makers of the 120 or so films made in Bollywood every year think that they are making a film which will be a big hit. No one in the right mind will go ahead and make a film aiming it to be an average or a flop film. 95% of them will not reach their intended objective. When the audience sees the final film they imagine it has been done with carelessness and a non-thinking attitude but that would never be the case. A viewer is spending a couple of hours and around Rs.100- to buy a ticket. A maker is spending a year or more and crores of Rupees. He would never be irresponsible because he has much much more to loose than the viewer. It happens because it is an extremely difficult thing to match the mind-state of the Director, where he started from and the mind-state of the viewer when he enters the theatre. It is too complex and too long drawn out for me to explain here. 2. You yourself have raised your bar and that's the burden you carry. Ans: Maybe you are right but that is also the reason I became what I am. 3. I don't want to read articles posted by fakes like you. Ans: Ok. 4. I request you to use all your witty humour in the media movie. Ans: Of course. Do you think there is anything funnier than the media? 5. I think you source your actors from theatre. Mohanlal is known, Chakri and the Contract guy are Telugu actors. Phoonk guy is a Kannada actor. I won't even get into how you get your heroines. Did you select Fardeen Khan because he gave you money? Ans: Yes sir, Yes sir, Yes sir, you are absolutely right about what all you wish to be right. 6. You spelt Nietzsche wrong. Ands: That was a typing error. Thanks for the lesson anyway! Where do I send the cheque? 7. Why are you an atheist? Ands: Because I can go ahead and commit as many sins as I want without getting scared. 8. Stick to making movies. Sexist jokes don't make good comedy. Ands: Ok, Ma'm. 9. Only if a Government committee regulates the sensationalisation of news the media scene will improve. Ans: I disagree. If it's regulated by a Govt body it will just breed corruption and censorship which will make the situation worse. At least now the least the media is doing is to entertain us. A Government body will destroy that too. 10. I think most celebrities have found solace with internet blogs. Ans: Definitely. At least there's one place where they can communicate to whoever is interested or concerned without being edited, quoted out of context or lines being highlighted which were not meant to be etc. 11. Seems like you have very good material for the media film. Please don't screw it. Ans: I won't screw it. I will f** it. 12. Invest in a good screenplay, good writer, good cinematographer and a good music director. Ans: Please don't give away such brilliant strokes of advice for free. 13. Stop manipulating things. Ans: Ok, Your honour.
'Do Lafzon Ki Kahani' made Deepak Tijori remember 'Aashiqui'
Actor-director Deepak Tijori, who is returning to direction after a long time with the Randeep Hooda- Kajal Aggarwal starrer "Do Lafzon Ki Kahani", said shooting for the film, made him recollect all fond memories of Mahesh Bhatt's evergreen romantic drama "Aashiqui", where he had played an important character. "I'm doing a romantic film for the first time after a long time even as a director. And obviously, I remember Bhatt sahab regularly and even the moments of 'Aashiqui' were coming to my mind while we were shooting the scenes. And this definitely helps. And you'll see a lot of images of Bhatt sahab in the film," he told journalists. The cast of Randeep and Kajal is fresh yet looking compatible in the first look of the film. Tijori said: "The film is basically a brooding love story and that was the reason we had to meticulously cast the actors for the film. The music of such a film also plays an important role. And I'm sure what we've achieved is remarkable and we're all excited and happy with what we've achieved in the film." Kajal and music composer Ankit Tiwari were also present at the interaction. "Aashiqui" was the turning point in Deepak Tijori's career after struggling for several years to get a break in the industry. Though he was not the lead actor, his role as lead actor Rahul Roy's friend was appreciated and made a huge difference to his career.
Why do Roshans avoid paying Protection Money?
Roshans are raking in crores at the Box Office after hitting bull's eye with their successive films, but they seem to have a problem with paying trivial amounts to the Mumbai police for providing security to them. In reports published in leading newspapers today, it has come to light that Rakesh Roshan owes Rs 3.52 lakhs while Hrithik Roshan owes Rs 3.4 lakhs to the police for having provided security to them. It may be recalled that Rakesh Roshan survived a near fatal attempt on his life when he was shot-at by the shooters of Abu Salem before the release of 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai'. He along with son Hrithik has been provided with constant police cover since then. Either the Roshans are not aware of the amount they are supposed to pay to the police or they've been plain careless. Let's see if after getting such negative publicity the famous father-son duo cough up the protection fees'.
"Why do I speak the truth" - Ramu
1. What drives you? Ans: Most times my Land cruiser and sometime my Honda. 2. What can people do when it's too late? Ans: There's no such thing as too late if you truly decide what you really want to do. Right from our birth we are taken forward to get into a trap of expectations and commitments towards our family or society or God or country etc. Fair enough. Many of us have no choice but to heed them because of our physical or emotional obligations. The only alternative we have is to make the choice and psyche ourselves to make the best of it but one thing you should not ever do is to crib or complain or feel frustrated as then the whole point of living itself is lost. 3. Overlooking heart and feelings is a disease Ayn Rand and many of her followers suffer from. Ans: I don't know about her followers but through her writings I believe that Ayn Rand has more heart and feelings than anyone else I have know, heard or have read of. 4. Kids speak the truth because of lack of understanding the consequences and very old people speak the truth because it no longer matters. Ans: Beautifully said. But then there is also a cracked guy like me who speaks the truth because of an obsessive desire to project myself plain pure and dirty. 5. Why was Tom Hagen kicked out in Godfather? I didn't buy the logic of him not being a war-time consigliore. Ans: Corporates (of which underworld companies are one) by nature operate on result. If an employee is given authority, funds etc towards a project and if he fails in delivering the expected result he will be kicked out. If Hagen couldn't see the attack of Solozzo coming or couldn't prevent the death of Sonny, he had to go. He was given a position to deliver results and not explanations. You and me as readers might feel it's too harsh a thing for what we feel is not Hagen's fault, but being in the shoes of the Don and Mike I think it's highly understandable. 6. How do I break my monotonous boring job and be you? Ans: By taking a decision. 7. Featuring a character derived from the various nuances of your personality might make a compelling film. Ans: I don't know about compelling but it will surely make a madcap film full of contradictions. 8. I could not go past Ayn Rand. Ans: Reading a book is like visiting another person's world. The more worlds you visit the more richer you become in your insights. By sticking only to Ayn Rand you are just carrying forward what you learnt only from her, thereby defeating the very purpose of knowledge. The knowledge you get from a book or any other source should be just a stepping stone for the next level. You should not ever carry what should carry you. 9. How did you react when Aag was a flop and Phoonk was a hit? Ans: I Aagghed and I phoonked!

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari says the experience of working with a legend like Amitabh Bachchan makes her believe in the saying that dreams do come true. "I feel foolish when someone ask me about the experience working with Mr.Bachchan. What can I say about a great actor like him?
