Double whammy for Rishi Kapoor on 26th May

There have been David Dhawan v/s David Dhawan, Amitabh Bachchan v/s Amitabh Bachchan and Priyadarshan v/s Priyadarshan clashes in the past when it comes to two of their films releasing on the same day. Now watch out for an all Rishi Kapoor show as two of his films release together on 26th May. Not many are aware that Rishi Kapoor plays an important role in Yash Chopra's big release of the year 'Fanaa'. While the promos so far [though hardly impressive any more] have all centered around Aamir Khan and Kajol, the film is actually a multistarrer with number of other major actors in the film. Apart from Rishi Kapoor, the film also stars Shiney Ahuja [fresh after the success of 'Gangster'], Tabu [making a comeback] and Kirron Kher. On the other hand Rishi Kapoor has a small film called 'Love Ke Chakkar Mein' releasing on the same day and needless to say that with newcomers like Akshat Bhatia and Namita making their debut, a lot of responsibility comes on Rishi Kapoor's shoulders. He indeed plays a major role of a BIG BOSS who is known for his roving eyes and still has a CASANOVA in him inspite of being far away from his prime. While no one can really debate about the box office returns of both the films, it would still be an interesting outing for the moviegoers who may just about settle for LKCM for the day in case of non-availability of tickets for 'Fanaa'!

Double Celebration Time for Akshaye Khanna

It was a celebration time for the Khanna's household two days earlier as the ever charismatic Vinod Khanna celebrated his 60 birthdays with both Akshaye & Rahul Khanna throwing a surprise party. They had a rocking time together in the Khanna household. For Akshaye Khanna, its proving to be a double celebration as he has the most promising film slated to be released in 2007 Starting with uber cool Nikhil Advani's 'Salaam-E-Ishq', followed by a critically appreciative performance in Anil Kapoor's 'Gandhi My Father'. It will be followed by Abbas Mastan's 'Humraaz' team together again with Bobby Doel and another Abbas Mastan film with Anil Kapoor & Saif Ali Khan. Definetely a double celebration time for Akshaye.

Double bill for Jaggu dada this Friday

His 'Naksha' may have unfortunately tumbled at the box office a few weeks back but Jaggu dada doesn't really have any time in hands to introspect. That's because come October 6th and he would be enjoying a double bill with 2 of his flicks coming together. In 'Bhoot Unkle', he plays the title role of a friendly 'ghost' who is extra cozy with the kids and is lovingly called as 'Bhoot Unkle'. The film was all set for release a few months back but due to certain production hassles, it is now finally hitting the marquee this Friday. The other film is 'Mera Dil Leke Dekho', a Shatrughan Sinha home production, which surprisingly is coming with meager publicity with 'junta' at large clueless about the film's plot. Worse, even Jaggu dada's character in the film is not known, though the promotional stills feature him quite prominently. We hope that for dada's sake, the two films do get some eyeballs. Having said that, there are number of other interesting projects starring him that should make him hot in the market once again over next 6 months. But more about that later!

Double bill for Pritam this Friday

It happened with Himesh Reshammiya last year when two films with a soundtrack by him, PHIR HERA PHERI and CHUP CHUP KE released on the same Friday. This Friday i.e. 16th March, it is the turn of Pritam as he awaits a similar fate at the theaters. JUST MARRIED and HAT TRICK are the two films arriving this week and incidentally both have Pritam at the helm of compositions. While the music of JUST MARRIED has a peppy and melodious feel to it, HAT TRICK too boasts of good variety of songs that range from love ballads to theme songs to bhangra dance numbers which makes it an immensely likeable album.

Shreyas' double bill

Shreyas Talpade, who is still known more as 'Iqbal' in spite of a DOR and an APNA SAPNA MONEY MONEY behind him, would be enjoying a double bill this September. Come 14th and 28th September and he would be seeing the release of AGGAR and DIL DOSTI ETC. respectively. He has contrasting roles in both the films though. While he plays a mature man (a psychiatrist by profession) in Ananth Mahadevan's AGGAR, in Prakash Jha produced and Manish Tiwary directed DIL DOSTI ETC. he plays a college student who aspires to be a politician. He has a lot happening in the coming months too. He also plays a supporting role alongside Shahrukh Khan in the biggest film of the year OM SHANTI OM. Also in the pipeline is BOMBAY TO BANGKOK that pairs him with his IQBAL director Nagesh Kukunoor once again.
