Arun Kumar, one of the promising young heroes, has been struggling for success. Inspite of several movies in the recent past, big success has been eluding the actor. A good outing in the movie Azhagay Irukkirai Bayamai Irukkiradhu revived his fortunes. Now Arun Kumar is all set to star in actor Arjun's home production to be directed by Sakthi Paramesh. According to sources, the movie was initially titled Durai. However Arjun has changed the title to Thavam. Supposedly a remake of a blockbuster Telugu movie, Thavam would go to floors once Arun's Thunichal to be directed by Majeed gets completed. Arun Kumar says, "I am very choosy. If I had accepted all the offers that came my way, I would have been no where. Let's hope my forthcoming movie brings me more fortunes".
Banu dreams high
Thamirabarani fame Banu impressed one and all with her performance in the movie. Though it was her maiden venture in Tamil, she hogged the limelight for her measured performance in the film. The latest buzz doing rounds in Kollywood is that the actor from the God's Own Country has been urged to do a prominent role in Kamal Haasan's Dasavatharam. The actor is yet to make up her mind on this offer. Thrilled with the success of Thamirabarani, Banu says, 'I am really happy that my first film has become such a big hit. I would like to act in another film with Vishal. I am even more eager to act with Rajini sir. My dream is to emerge a top actor in Tamil cinema.'
Big dreams of Tamil heroines
After Shriya acted opposite Rajnikanth in Sivaji, every other actress in Kollywood is now dreaming of sharing the screen with 'Super Star'. It is no surprise that they wish to be part of a Rajnikanth film, since it considered a pride and achievement to act alongside Rajnikanth. Keen to play Rajnikanth's heroine is Asin. The young actress from Kerala, who is acting with Kamal Haasan in Dasavatharam and Aamir Khan in the Hindi remake of Ghajini, is very much interested and waiting for that golden opportunity. But the wait has to continue. Everyone can dream but superstar's dream girl would be....
Bhavanas dreams
The pleasant looking damsel from 'God's own country' has a lot of dreams. Apart from dreaming to be known as a fine actor, Bhavana also wants to direct films in future. You can figure it out when she keenly looks at the monitor after finishing a shot. She looks at the monitor like a sincere student of film institute. The enterprising actor has other colours in her personality as well. Few would have known that she is a poet. She is also an amateur photographer. She passionately captures the natural scenes whenever she gets time. She has planned to learn photography formally to horn her skills in the area. The beautiful girl has a peculiar complaint. Since she has categorically declared that she would not do glamorous roles, the directors approach her with subjects that would have her wearing half saris. 'No glamour does not mean no to western outfits', laments the modern girl. She has now started to request the directors to give her chance to wear modern dresses. Bhavana is now hopping between Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. She has a dream to do movies in all languages including Hindi.
Prabhu Deva dreams to work in Mollywood
The Ace choreographer, actor and director Prabhu Deva dreams to work in Mollywood, someday. He was speaking in the Mathrubhoomi awards function, when he unveiled his secret intentions of working in Malayalam. He said that one of the most interesting comments that he heard about his profession was from Mammootty. Mammootty had said, "You are a good choreographer, but performing with such dancing stars like Chiranjeevi , is not a big deal. I will only acknowledge you as a great dancer, if u can make me dance to your steps". Prabhu Deva said this on the occasion, amidst great chuckles from the audience. He added, "I will like to work with the best of the actors in Malayalam, someday in future". Interestingly, it was Prabhu Deva who choreographed the steps for Mammootty in 'Johny Walker', the film which was released in 1992.
Sasi's blossoming dreams
Director Sasi is confident that his next film 'Poo' would make the right kind of noise in Kollywood. 'Capturing rural milieu on film is not an easy task. Having grown up in a cosmopolitan city like Chennai, I chose to stay in a village in Rajapalayam and study the lives of people before commencing with the shooting', says Sasi. 'Poo' is based on a short story Veyilodu Poi by Thamizhselvan. Srikanth plays the lead role while popular Kannada actress Parvathi is the heroine. The rest of the cast are newcomers. Sasi has introduced three writers as actors in 'Poo'. Prominent writers Lakshmana Perumal, Bharathi Devi and Janaki play important roles in the film. 'A major portion of the movie has been completed and 'Poo' will bloom well', he added.
