More news →'E-Preethi' complete I schedule
The first NRI woman director of Kannada cinema Priya Bharathi alias Shilpa (residing at Washington DC) maiden film 'E-Preethi' has completed first schedule of shooting. The love in e-Mail and several talkie portions the director has captured in the first schedule of the shooting of 24 days. The team is all set to leave to United States of America for remaining portion of shooting. Story and screenplay is written by Priya Bharathi. Ace lyricist from 'Mungaru Male' Jayanth Kaikini has penned the songs and dialogues. Pradip Bekal, Narayan Hosmane, Mahimahesh and S.V.Narayanaswamy are the producers. Music Mint Suchitra Latha scores the music while R.V.Nageshwara Rao and Udaya Raja are cameramen for this film. Aravind is doing choreography while the assistant directors are Ravindra and Rajasri. Diganth, Tejaswini, Bharat, Nina Mahesh, Joe Simon, Padma Vasanthi, Malathi Sardeshpande, Ravindranath, Andrio, Livero and Shivarudrappa are in the cast.
'E Sambashane' to New Delhi
The maiden production of former military officer Major Srinivas Poojar 'E Sambashane' starring his son Sandesh and charming Haripriya has left for New Delhi to store two songs in Nainital, Kulu Manali and other pleasant locations. The two songs written by music director V.Manohar ' Ondu bechchaneya Nenepe Gama Gama and Thangaliya Aramanege Sangeetha Thoranau'., are choreographed by Madan Harini. 'E Sambashane' has completed the talkie portion of shooting and in a given time it is shaping up for the first copy says the first time director Rajasekhar. Director Rajasekhar in the art direction of Hosmane Murthy has erected a market set at the Galibidivu in Madikeri where a lot of scenes were captured by cameraman K.S.Chandrasekhar one of the popular cameraman today. Suresh Urs is editing the and director has written the story and screenplay for the film. Manju Mandavya has penned the dialogues. Jyothi Rana, Sharan, Sumalatha Ambarish, B.Ganapathi, Bullet Prakash, V.Manohar are in the supporting cast.
E - Treat awaits audio fans
The audio of the E directed by Jananathan will be released in Chennai at a gala function scheduled for Sunday. Arya, Jeeva, Ramesh, Namitha and Nayantra, all youth icons, would take part in the function. E is produced by R B Choudhary featuring his son Jeeva in the lead role. Nayantra plays his heroine. The movie has music by Srikanth Deva and cinematography by Ekambaram. In the movie Jeeva plays a ruffian while Nayantra plays a bar dancer. The movie has ten numbers with Tippu, Hariharan, K J Yesudas, Sukwindher Singh, Sangeetha Rajeshwaran, Vaishali, Kalpana, Sowmya and Ranjith singing the songs. The highlight of the music album is four Gaana songs sung by the popular Gaana singer in Chennai, Pulianthopu Palani. All the four songs are expected to top the audio charts thanks to the recent success of Vazhameenukum in Chithiram Pesuthadi sung by Gana Ulaganathan.
E is buzzing
Director Jananathan, whose maiden venture Iyyarkai won a national award, is hopeful that his forthcoming release E would meet success at the box office. Speaking about the film, the director says, 'though my earlier film won rave reviews, it failed to collect money. E will compensate it.' The movie stars Jeeva and Nayantra in the lead roles. A major portion of the movie has been shot. Iyyarkai fame Ekambaram handles the camera. On the movie, Jananathan, says, 'E refers to Eswaran, the lead role being played by Jeeva. Nayantra plays a bar dancer in the movie. We have tried to fuse reality with fantasy in the movie and the output has amazed every one of us. Comedy, action and romance have come out well'. On Jeeva, the director, says, 'Such a simple actor, he is very co-operative and has a sincere attitude towards his profession.' Some portions of the movie were shot in heavy floods which ravaged the city a few months ago. Thanking producer R B Choudhary for giving him enough liberties in canning what he wanted, Jananathan, says, ' The movie would not be run-of-the-mill'.
E V Saroja is dead
Popular actress of yesteryears, E V Saroja, died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Chennai Friday, her family said. Saroja, 71, was survived by a son and a daughter. She had over seventy films to her credit and was paired with the late M G Ramachandran and late Sivaji Ganesan in many films in the 1960s. Her husband T R Ramanna, a popular film director, died a couple of years ago. Meanwhile, AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa, in a statement, said she was deeply saddened to hear about the death of Saroja. Her death is a great loss to the Tamil film world, she said and extended her condolences to members of the bereaved family.
E takes wings
Close on the heels of E's success in Tamil, the movie is all set for a release in Telugu. Addressing press persons Wednesday, producer R B Choudhary said E released amidst biggies this Deepavali. 'Fortunately it has become a blockbuster and collected huge revenue. The response from the audience has been amazing and we had to come out with 25 prints for the movie following demands from the distributors and exhibitors.' He further said, 'Initially I was jittery at releasing the movie for Deepavali. However, director Jananthan and his crew persuaded me to have a go. Their prediction has come true.' The crew of E comprising Jananthan, Jeeva, cinematographer Ekambaram had toured Tamilnadu extensively in the past few weeks and they are happy with audience response for the movie, he added. On his part, Jananthan said, 'Reaching the masses with such a sensitive theme was my greatest success'. Jeeva, thrilled at the good run of E, said, 'I had full faith in the director and the script. Hopefully it paid rich dividends'. E has been reportedly selected for screening at the panorama section of the IFFI to begin at Goa from 23 November.
