Akshay Kapoor, a blue-eyed boy last seen in Alag and Popkorn Khao Mast Ho Jaao is making a comeback in Fast Forward alongside Vinod Khanna, Mahesh Manjrekar, Rehan Khan and Bhavna. Fast Forward, directed by Zaigham Ali Sayed, is about young dancing talents who desire to chase their dreams. One of the major reasons why Akshay was selected for the role was his excellent dancing skills. Choreographer Sonia Jaffer of Jhalak Dikh La Ja fame conducted three months intensive dance workshops for the lead actors who were to perform extensively in the film. Akshay who plays an aspiring dancer excitedly says 'I am looking forward to this musical film as I have worked very hard to get my steps right. I am a good dancer so I could grab this role as I don't have a godfather in the industry.' Akshay has performed some high energy packed dances that are surely going to elate audiences.
Arbaaz Khan - Fast becoming a regular a Priyadarshan
One talks about Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and now Rajpal Yadav being regulars with Priyadarshan. But one seldom talks about another man who is fast becoming a common inclusion in all Priyan films. The name is Khan - Arbaaz Khan! Arbaaz Khan was first seen in a Priyan film with 'Hulchul'. After a brief yet noticeable role in the film, he was also seen in 'Malaamal Weekly' where he had a much visible part to play. Come 'Bhagam Bhaag' and he would be seen for the third time in a Priyan film as he features in yet another multi starrer directed by the master story teller. Going at the rate Arbaaz is being seen in Priyan films, one waits to see if he is cast as one of the lead protagonists in an upcoming film by the director.

Ammuvagiya Naan is being produced by Parker Brothers, who produced Pallavan with Manoj Bharathy earlier. This film stars Parthiban in the significant role of a writer. Debutant Bharathy, a Tamil girl, plays the female lead. This film intends to portray the subtle and minute contrasts that exist between prevalent norms of social justice and normal human life. This film has dialogues by Surulirajan. Editing is by Suresh Urs. Music is taken care of by Sabesh-Murali, while Palani Bharathy is in charge of the lyrics. Cinematography is by MS Prabhu and the story, screenplay and direction are by Padma Magan. The shooting of this film is progressing rapidly at Chennai, Pondicherry and Gingee. This film is slated for release in February 2007.

Film fratenity begins fast
Representatives of Tamil film industry began an eight-hour-long fast at Chepauk here condemning the attacks on cinemas screening Tamil films by pro-Kannada groups protesting Tamil Nadu's decision to go ahead with the Hogenakkal water project. Wearing badges to show their opposition to the project and pride in Tamil culture, scores of personalities including actors Vijay Kumar and Radha Ravi and leading technicians participated in the fast, called by Tamil Film Chamber of Commerce. Speakers at the fast condemned the attack on cinemas screening Tamil films in Bangalore and said the film industry was the first victim during such issues. Rajini arrives at the fast amidst thundering applause. 'Super Star' Rajinikanth took the dias amidst his fans cheering him. He exchanged plesantries with Sarath Kumar and sat next to him on the dais. Wearing a pyjama kurtha, the actor was wearing a black hat and was seen waving his fans. He patiently listened to the likes of Kushboo, Arjun, director Perarasu speaking on the occasion. Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan came around 2.30 PM. The actor returning from the USA, came to the venue straight from the airport. A grand dais was erected and security was tightened in the area. Police have been deployed in large numbers to exercise round-the-clock vigil. Metal detectors have been installed near the dais and sniffer dogs have been rushed to the place. According to Sarath Kumar, president, South Indian Film Artistes Association, 'all technicians and artists of Tamil industry who are of Karnataka origin must also participate in the protest, failure of which would lead to noncooperation from the industry here. Even those involved in shooting in other places and abroad must cancel their schedule to take part in the protest, he added. As a result of which the fast has been witnessing actors and actresses turning up in large numbers. Speaking on the occasion, KRG, 'it is a protest to express our opposition to the attrocities being committed against us'.
