One of the leading cinema chains in Malaysia, Lotus Five star has bought the Suriya's Anjaan distribution rights and are releasing the movie in 75 screens. UTV's Dhananjayan himself confirmed the reports in his Twitter page and said, Superb distribution by Lotus Five star and Anjaan will be one of the widest releases in Malaysia. Lingusamy has directed and co-produced Anjaan along with UTV. Samantha, Vidyuth Jamwal, Manoj bajpai and others played key roles in Anjaan. Yuvan Shankar Raja has rendered music, Santosh Sivan behind the lens and Anthony has edited the film.
Jeevan to star with five heroines
Jeevan will share the screen with five popular heroines in Kollywood for his next movie. The villain-cum-hero in Tamil cinema, who shot to fame with the role of a baddie in Kaakha Kaakha, is playing the lead role in the remake of yesteryear classic Naan Avanillai. The movie would be produced by noted film distributor Japak. He has reportedly acquired the remake rights of the yesteryear classic featuring Gemini Ganesan in the lead role. The new version will have Jeevan in the role of Gemini Ganesan. It is an extension of the role played by Jeevan in his Thiruttu Payalae. He plays a womanizer. The original version starred five actresses in it. In the remake, five prominent actresses have been cast including Sneha and Namitha. The third is Malavika, who acted with Jeevan in Thiruttu Payale. The fourth and fifth are Jothirmayi who was introduced in Thalainagaram, and Kirti Chawla.
Five for ten
Kamal Hassan, who is known for executing innovative ideas on screen, is planning a similar thing for his next Dasavatharam. The movie being directed by K S Ravi Kumar with dialogues by Crazy Mohan is expected to begin soon. The actor had left for the USA recently along with Ravikumar to finalize the script. Featuring him in 10 different roles, Kamal Hassan has mooted the idea of trying out five music-composers for the film. It seems to have won the favor of producer Oscar Ravichandran. It would now mean that five top music-directors would compose music in Dasavatharam.
Five Directors team up for Vijay Sethupathi's Next
In an attempt first of its kind in Kollywood, five top directors have teamed up for Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming project with director Thiagarajan Kumararaja.Mysskin, Nalan Kumarasamy will be among those five teaming with the National award winning director. The makers haven't announced this news officially, but a reliable source has confirmed this.Ace cinematographer PC Sreeram, has been roped in to crank the camera.
Kollywood - Five shows for Deepavali
With seven, some say it could be even eight, films set to release for this Deepavali, this festival day is one of the biggest (in terms of cinema releases) in recent memory. What more, this is also the biggest Deepavali day without any big releases from the big four of Rajini, Kamal, Vijay, Vikram. Anyway, with eight movies set to make it, there is increasing pressure on theatres. Meanwhile, the State government has allowed screening of five shows in theaters for the Deepavali till 27 October. This is a great boon for the producers.
'Kuselan': Five heroines to dance with Rajini
'Kuselan' throws up many surprises as the making of the movie is progressing in a rapid speed on a special set errected at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. The latest buzz about the film is that Superstar Rajinikanth will be romancing with five heroines for a song. The smiling beauty Sneha is the latest addition to the already glittering list of heroines that includes the names of Nayantara and Mamta Mohandas roped in for the song. Hunt for the other heroines are on. The film, directed by P Vasu, is shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. In Tamil, Pasupathi is playing the hair dresser's role while Telugu will have Jagapathi Babu playing the same. Meena will act as the wife of the hair dresser in both the languages. Nayantara will be paired with the Superstar. Prabhu plays a very vital role done by Mukesh in the original 'Katha Parayumbol'. The music is scored by G.V. Prakash Kumar. A rumour making rounds in the industry is that many leading stars including Kamal Haasan, Ajith, Vijay, Vikram, Madhavan, Tabu and Namitha have been approached to be part of a song in the movie. 'Kuselan', which is getting bigger day by day, will be shifted to Pollachi and Kodaikkaanal soon. Vasu is planning to shoot some scenes involving Rajini in these locations as well.
